I’m thinking about getting everything except the flaps up National and Alliance.

Two turboprops, a retro livery and a MAX AA, two other retros including a 717, and that awesome JCW 744 mould.

They made some good picks this month.

Oh geez, a great month! Alliance E-190 and National 74BCF for me, gonna be hard to squeeze in the JC one too (might still get it as I also really like that scheme).
When was the last time GJ released an L188?
Luckily NG had a boring month.

Default Re: Gemini 400 August 2021 Releases

Gemini have only ever released 1 L-188, using the Aeroclassics mould, way back in 2005. Presumably this one will use the Blue Box era Jet-X L-188 (not the same as the original Dragon one) that became part of the JC Wings inventory when they took over that brand. It is a good mould so it'll be interesting to see what it looks like. The mould hasn't been used since 2012!

The TWA 717 is also a good choice except the mould isn't the best. So that is two possible acquisitions for me in a single month from Gemini. It has been a while.

I know the decisions were probably made ages ago but I don't know why Gemini persists on re-releasing what have to be, given the moulds, superior NG 757 releases. I'm sure there are some others they could make instead. Also a shame the JC 73G and 73H are so mediocre.

The Alliance also looks good but is too far outside my criteria. So overall some interesting choices this month.

Going to be an expensive month for me. Going to get Lone Star, the American retro and MAX-8, and the TWA 717. The FedEx ATR-72 is tempting too.

Wow, another great release. The AA MAX is on my list to get. FedEx ATR I will be getting. I know it's an Irish-registered aircraft, but if that really bothers me I will change it with a decal. Lone Star also for me, would wait for someone else to do it but thinking it might be a while, so Gemini it is.

A great set of releases from GJ this month. Will be ordering the following:

American Airlines B737-800 N905NN
Eastern Air Lines L-188 Electra N5517
FedEx Feeder ATR-72-600F EI-GUL
National Airlines B747-400BCF N952CA (flaps down)
Southwest Airlines B737-700 N931WN
Trans World Airlines B717-200 N418TW

First time in many months that I am buying this many GJ releases. I especially like the TWA, Eastern and FedEx releases. I didn't realize that GJ had access to an L188 mould. Hopefully they will make more use of it!

With NG's announcement today and AC set to announce their releases tomorrow evening, this is setting up to be my most expensive month yet!

Really happy to see the AA 738 Astrojet, and look forward to getting it! Definitely will try the new EAL L-188, as you can never have enough Eastern Airlines!! The 757 looks tempting too, as I refuse to support the bottomfeeders who may or may not have made one already. I hope GJ releases more 757s & B.747SPs, as quite contrary to what someone posted about, the bottomfeeders to NOT have a superior product!!

Would love more retro props even if it’s an especially small batch. Helped load a white DC-3 for a feeding the hungry trip in Florida and would love to have a model.

Good to see GJ using the ATR mould again.
If they were smart they'd set up a sub-brand called Gemini Regionals or something and release some ATRs, Dash 8s, E-Jets, etc, monthly- hundreds of liveries waiting to be done.

I did a Britannia wishlist back in 2019. Would love to see the odd series 100 from JC Wings or Gemini and you're right Britannia Airways makes so much sense:

Nice lineup this month! Already pre-ordered the TWA 717 and the Northwest 757.

The TWA 717 was long overdue, IMO, so it's great to see that one get done. Would love to see a 1:400 MD-80 in twin stripe and final TWA colors as well.

I've also noticed GJ doing some 757s that NG has already done, but I really don't mind this Northwest release. I don't recall NG doing a 757-251 in the bare metal colors with just "Northwest" titles and a bare red tail, though they did a release like that for the 757-2S7 with RR engines. I didn't get the NG release because of that due to how short-lived that aircraft/livery combo was. But with this GJ release having the PW engines of the 757-251, I had to pull the trigger on it.

TWA 717 and the National 747 for me.
The Electra is tempting.

Maybe, just maybe that 717 is a sign we may FINALLY get some TW MD-80s? PLEASE?
