Default Big Bird COLUMBIA 747 Hangar Club Model.

got this off ebay last week. saw it literally as it was just listed. it was £90 or best offer. i sent offer of £80 and seller accepted within 10 minutes. had he waited another 5 i would have paid full price. as didn't want someone else to nick it! been after one of these for years. even though not collected 1/400 commercials for years!

Great catch! I remember having this beauty back when collecting 1:400. What a great movie! I now have the IF200 post collision version and enjoy having it in my collection.

Thanks for the great pics!

As mentioned elsewhere, I foolishly sold mine years ago to raise a few bob. But I do still have the companion Hangar Club release from then, the Pan Am/American hybrid livery 747, which is still one of my favourite pieces. I wonder what those go for nowadays ? (No, I'm not selling it)

Reminiscent of a era when diecast collecting was fun.

Congratulations Robert, you won out, just about to press the "buy it now" button and it had gone, like you, would have paid the full asking price, that said managed to snag the BigBird 741 American Airlines, so happy!

Awesome how they painted up a 747 just for scenes in a movie.
Nowadays, they would just computer generate it, which will never be as cool.
I wonder how much AA got paid for this?

Nolan used a real 747 in his last movie, Tenet

IF200 didn't do such an accurate job of depicting the damage. It also should have come with a 1:200 prop job.

Thanks Jc. suppose it wasn't easy to replicate the damage. and as said would have been better with prop that hit it. still, not seen one of these for sale for years!

still reckon they should a non damage one like mine.

You're welcome! Sorry it took so long to post pics.

I have only seen a couple pop up over the last couple years. Since giving up, for the most part, on 1:400, I had to have one in my 1:200 collection. IF200 did both versions, pre and post collision. Maybe one day I will find a pre collision.

They would probably sell out just as fast to those that missed out on the first run!
