Default aviation400 releases

Hi all,

I hope you are well and safe.

I had a quick question on whether anyone had any information on releases from aviation400? I was looking to preorder some of their latest models (777, a350 in Swiss/ Virgin and Qatar liveries) but there seems to be no information on when they would be made available.

Grateful for any advice / information on this

Have you tried your regular diecast dealer for an inquiry on availability?

AV400’s releases are a bit unpredictable; usually it can be up to a year after an announcement before they are sent out to retailers. The wait’s worth it though as the models are really high quality compared to other manufacturers.

Yeah I’m still waiting for the ANA BB-8 777-300ER that was announced just under a year ago so it’s gonna be a wait for those models.

Thanks guys and wow - I wasn't expecting it to be that long of a wait!

I placed an order but the response I got is that they don't really know when it would come in :S and here I was being optimistic and thinking that their A380 moulds could come out soonish!

Most AV400 models are released within 3-4 months of announcement, a few take longer but not many get near a year.

The A380 mould won't even be ready until near the end of the year so I wouldn't expect to see announcements until then and the actual models until at least Q1 2022.

What a SCAM!!! Announcing models and taking your money, then eventually producing it half to one year later!!

Is that even legal? Most of these companies do it, and I think it's unethical, if not illegal!

It's the store that the pre-order is with who take the money, not the manufacturer. It is simply an agreement between the seller and the buyer.

There is nothing illegal about agreeing a pre-order with someone. If you don't want them to take the money then you simply don't pre-order the item. The best part is that if you change your mind or they don't get the model, you are entitled to a refund as, low and behold, it's still your money!

A much bigger industry does this all the time; the video game industry. You can usually pre-order a game from companies as big as Microsoft months in advance of it's release, as I did with the latest Microsoft Flight Simulator.

I'm surprised you don't know this, given you have been collecting models longer than I have existed. It's almost like you are being purposefully cantankerous or something, but I can't imagine that is the case.

"...the latest Microsoft Flight Simulator. "
Hijacking this thread, and if I might, what is your opinion of the latest MFS? I went through a number of versions of the earlier releases, and a bunch of expensive add-ons, and always had more problems that they were worth, and I am unconvinced that FS2004 and FSX weren't contributing to any number of problems with other functions on my computer. I still have a hankering for the newest Microsoft attempt, but am very leery. My gut reaction is that it's not worth the bother. Any response appreciated. Doug

I'm really enjoying it so far. It's quite refreshing having a new team looking after the series after this many years, they seem really focused and passionate, they take in tons of feedback from players. The renewed interest and high download figures are pushing devs and third party content makers to try really hard to make it an on-going success. Mostly I fly VFR in the standard Cessna's included in the sim. I also have a few hours on Just Flights Piper Arrow and with an add on Zenith 701 bush plane.

The sim seems to be improving all the time, with a huge performance update due at the end of the month. It's a beautiful looking game at the best of times already though. The weather model is very impressive.

Biggest complaints are from people who fly a lot of IFR as the navdata can be a little lacking. Not a huge fan of the built in ATC and navigating around airports while on the ground can be tiresome as taxiway identifiers do not always line up with reality. There is still room for using third party applications and scenery to improve that side of the experience, so those days of a million-and-one bits of software to keep updated are not entirely behind us yet.

Thankfully Microsoft have added the sim to their Game Pass system which allows you to play the sim for a monthly subscription that can be cancelled any time. The first month of Game Pass is only £1/$1 for many people who have not used the service before and you can get full month of gameplay from this, it may be worth looking into as a cheap way to demo the sim without any commitments.

Is it there in terms of being the ultimate in realistic aviation simulation? Maybe not quite yet. But it's still a wonderful experience that has had a bigger impression on me than any of the sims in the series so far.

I'm currently on about 250 hours of flight time and slowly chipping away at an around-the-world trip in the C172 which I started in Washington State, it's been great.

I own MFS2020 and all I can say it’s that it’s stunning in all senses, the A32N has cockpit issues but there’s an excellent mod which is perfect as a replacement. For the general aviation, the amazing world scenery and graphics make it just a unique experience. Liveries are also easy to download…

Anyway, about the topic of this post, Av400 has no clear schedule and I’m guessing it’ll take about a year to make them all, but they will progressively get available (basing off on all the past releases).
