Thought it would be today, but I'm excited to see the releases that I'll probably be disappointed by.

Sun Country 737's sound good this time of year

Ok I'm going to try and give my predictions based off of recent release sets. Gemini usually only make 8 or 9 models a month so here goes:
  • United 737 MAX-8
  • Kalitta Air 747-400F new livery
  • Hawaiian Airlines 787-9
  • A 757 - since they've recently made EA and TW examples even though both were made by NG. Maybe an AA without winglets?
  • A CRJ
  • Something Emirates
  • Something military
  • 10 Convair 580s
  • 9 Fokker 100s
  • 8 BAC One-Eleven 500s
  • 7 McDonnell Douglas MD-80s
  • 6 Boeing 737-500s
  • 5 Saab 340s
  • 4 DHC-8s
  • 3 Britannia 100s
  • 2 Fokker 50s
  • and a Partridge in a pear tree

Ok I may have got slightly carried away there...

Probably one mainline American widebody and one narrow body, one Emirates 380. One random US cargo carrier, one random CRJ, one European widebody, an Indian P8, and a C17.

Just one Fokker once in a while shouldn't be too much to ask...

Hearing of some predictions on a jetBlue A220-300 and a Delta E175 with enhanced winglets. Could happen but I’d like for it to not...

Actually, the Skywest CRJ-700 was perfect like the United -550

Sadly the United 550 wasn’t perfect either. I ordered it but canceled after seeing they screwed up the location of the cheat line on the fuselage. Lately I’ve been sticking to 1:200 since they seem to be doing well on those. Absolutely love my new Gemini200 Frontier A321.

I think Gemini is having a above average year in 1/400, IMHO.

Easy to say when the bar is relatively low. I will give credit where it's due, I think the diversity between moulds, countries represented, pax vs. cargo. vs MACs, and airlines is actually pretty good, and better than average (albeit mostly on older moulds). But there have been some very disappointing releases as well which have on many occasions gotten my hopes up. I almost NEVER cancel a preorder. When I saw how bad the CRJ gear was, how bad of a tail sitter the golden Southwest was, how massively oversized the radome on the Delta 757-300 was, I HAD to cancel. Then the New York MD-80 came out and that was, for me equally disappointing. I will say they are trying. I will also say, an "above average year" for Gemini is still below average for my standards. I hope they continue to find ways to innovate and improve.
