Smile Airbus or Boeing: House Livery

Howdy guys, I'm a brand new collector here. I've done some looking, but I'm wondering where I can find 1:400 scale Airbus models in their house livery?

Yes there are many house livery models from various eras.

I have a fair few from both Boeing and Airbus plus a couple like Mcdonald Douglas and Embraer.

Check out NG Models and Panda, they have a habit of producing the house liveries.

check on ebay using "1/400 house colors" key words. Same for online retailers, some are identified on this forum.

Dragon Wings produced a few Airbus in 1/400 as did Jet-X, mostly Boeings for JX.

To determine what has been made use the DiMA database here:

https://database.diecastmodelaircraft.com/advanced?

It is far more up to date than the DAC one. The best Airbus house colours models have been made by Aviation400 (A350s), Panda Models (A330-300, A320-100, A320neo, A340-300) and HYJLwings (A321, A321neo) but Phoenix has also made some A321neos too.

Dragon Wings made a lot of house colours models back in the day but they are mostly on rubbish moulds and some of their worst models.

There are some pretty cheap house liveries, I can send some links to Diecast Airplane.com

Some airbus house liveries:

a319 Dragon Wings: https://www.diecastairplane.com/stor...del-1-400.html

a330 Dragon Wings: https://www.diecastairplane.com/stor...400-clone.html

Those are just a few ~$25 models. You can always find more by doing "search by airline" and finding the Airbus or Boeing airline.

There are actually a TON of house liveries out there.
If you are a new collector, I would recommend buying from pandafoxtoys, they have free shipping and great prices (on Gemini jets at least)

Tell me if I shouldn't be posting all these links, thanks.

Dragon Wings (DW) was the official for Airbus and Boeing house colours and as such are the one that made most of the house colours you can get.

Don't reject any of the DW models on the sole basis of pseudo expert advice, particularly the one in bed with some manufacturers.

DW have (and still have) some of the best moulds. They have made some unique house colour releases such as the A300, the Beluga, Concorde, Electra, B360, B707, 767, 747 (look for the test beds from RR or GE), 777-300 (the chrome version is still unmatched).

All other manufacturers have made house colours, including herpa, phoenix, Jet-X (on DW moulds), JC Wings, NG and the other ones, some already gone.

Just to clarify for him I didn't say Dragon Wings models are bad. In fact, I not long ago made a video saying exactly the point he seems to want to make which can be found here:

Their Airbus moulds are however their poorest, and really poor by modern standards. Considering Mr Edifiedcarrot47 is new and probably on the younger side I doubt he's interested in models without modern details, let alone weak castings.

Also in no way was my comment supposed to list every house colour model worth getting and certainly Phoenix, JC Wings, NG Models and others have all made worthwhile Airbus house colours models, which is why I pointed you to the database.

I am indeed 'in bed' with the majority of 400 scale manufacturers (almost everyone in fact aside from Gemini and Phoenix) and this is because I am not only an expert in 400 scale, but also one that is widely trusted by many including the manufacturers themselves. In fact, when I got home on the doorstep was a box from JC Wings that they sent me.

Lastly in terms of finding these models it is something of luck with most sold out a long time ago. So eBay is your best bet followed by the usual bunch of quality retailers - Eztoys, Waffle Collectibles, Prairie Diecast etc etc etc

RM ModelStore is spot on there have been quite a few house colours models made recently, mainly from Aviation400, JC Wings and Panda Models. It is something of a minor collection focus for me. Here's my house colours area:

Manufacturer House Colours by Richard Stretton, on Flickr

Most brands are represented - Dragon (367-80), JC Wings (MD-11, MD-90, A340-600, A330neo, 787-10, A350-1000, Beluga XL, 747-8, Dreamlifter, CS100), NG models (757x2), AV400 (A350-900), Phoenix (A380, 777-200, 777-300, IL-96), Gemini Jets (747-100, E-190), HYJLwings (A321, A321neo), Panda (A320, A320neo, A330, ARJ21, C919, 737-300, 737-600, 737 MAX-8), Aeroclassics (DC-8, DC-10), Jet-X (DC-9-10).

I've also done detailed reviews on quite a few of these models too either at https://modelairliner.com/category/1400-scale-reviews/

or on the YT channel:

Incidentally I'd suggest that the Phoenix rollout colours 777-300 beats the original Dragon, chrome or not by some way. I reviewed it back in 2018:

Thank you guys for your help, I decided to get an A350-900 from NG Models. I liked the livery on that one the best, and it will be here in 3-4 days so hopefully I can get some pictures posted soon!

I also just bought the 737 Max 9 house livery from Phoenix, I'm pretty hyped for both of my models to arrive!

I own some few house liveries (Airbus only actually), there are 3 manufacturers which are the ones who roughly only make house liveries (others do it once in a blue moon…). Those 3 are Panda, Phoenix and JC, but you will probably find JC’s easier as they produce bigger quantities, also Phoenix has some pretty bad moulds (and quality control) in some aircraft which is why I tend do avoid them (they are fine with many other models tho). Panda is very nice but they are hard to find once it has been a long time since they released the model you look for sadly.
