Default JC Wings new interactive open engine

Don't now if it will be in 1/400 but it looks like something fun to share anyway!

JcWings will bring an open engine cowling option in the future. On their Instagram are some pretty nice pictures.

What do you guys think?

Looking good, interactive series are a great addition to the hobby, also have the question if it's 1/400. Fingers crossed.

Hopefully these will be on the model itself, they might just be showing them sepparetly.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they'll be on the plane, but was wondering when the engines open... is it during maintenance or something?

They've been working on this in 1:200 scale since 2017 on the GE90-115 engine on 777s. Here's the Kenya model:

That’s gotta be 200 scale for sure. No way that can be done in 400 scale.

Yes. https://database.diecastmodelaircraft.com/model/74376

Looks similar to the the model in the IG post. Sadly appears to be 1:200 but I’d get one in 1:400 for the novelty.

I doubt they will be in 1:400, that would just be too small for the detail. I wonder if this will an optional addition, like they do with the flaps down, or it will be standard on all aircraft of this type just like the interactive series.

It would be interesting if this was in 1:400 but this engine above is definitely for 1:200 scale..

How far do we push detail in 1/400? The aerials are now properly scaled, and belong. Rotating wheels? A step too far and also unnecessary, we've all lost a wheel or two in the rug... Opening doors? Don't see it - the thickness of the doors spoils it and are (and here's the ultimate curse) toylike. Dropped flaps and slats? Like 'em real good, but does add fragility. Engine detail? A step too far for 1/400. I still like looking at my 1/400 airliners with a magnifying glass or through macro photography. These are small gems that are worthy of close inspection, and that's why we pay the big bucks. Up, up, and Away! Doug

To me, the model in the pic is scale 1/200. I am also not that convinced that this will improve a 1/400 mould.

I still don’t like aerials and rolling gears for their propensity to have errors. However, I do feel that engines that could go into reverse thrust would be interesting and possibly less issue considering only one seam in the metal and just the ability of one cylinder to slide on top of another to a point. I think maintenance is pushing the limitations of the scale. I do hope every future 747-8 release from gemini isn’t interactive, the Atlas one I have has the tendency to lose its nose.

Interactive engine is an interesting idea.

I have seen Gemini 1:250 models with the extending/retractable landing gear released years ago. However, I haven't owned one in 1:250 scale. Please correct me if I am wrong but I cannot find any 1/200 scale with retractable gear. What happened to that idea?

This Thread is in the wrong section. It's in 1:200

Two 777's are available for pre-order for the Asian market. Don't know if it will be available in Europe and in the US as well.

Albatross models. They're using the JC Wings mould.
