Okay, so I was dreaming about a BCAL 10 in 1:200 scale re-release and then today this showed up! Must be ordering in my sleep!LOL

Close up of engine cowling looks a little wonky...someone in the factory got a little crazy with some 80 grit sand paper! Also starboard side wing WAS loose, but hey I wasn't expecting much! If you set your sights low you won't be disappointed!LOL Nice little release!

Enjoy!

Thanks! Nice...post a pic here of it when you have time. I think I may have owned it when I was actively collecting 1:400. Would love to see it!

Um... there is no later scheme, this was British Caledonian‘s final livery before its demise. ;-)

As for the model, I really don’t like that silver glitter. Otherwise a classic scheme! Where ä has the nose gear gone?!

Edit.

mmm can just see Andrew doing the john travolta dance. especially where he takes his jacket off on the dance floor, swings it round his head a few times and throws it away. and just like the Airplane film, somebody throws it back over him! :):):)

Indeed, Caledonian wasn’t British Caledonian. British Caledonian was formed through the merger of British United Airways and (the original) Caledonian Airways in the early 1970’s. Therefore, you can find aircraft in B’Cal colours but with “Caledonian” only titles. British Caledonian remained a private airline. When B’Cal was in financial trouble, it was absorbed by British Airways in the late 1980’s, which renamed her charter division, British Airtours, in “Caledonian Airways”.

I loved this airline and was fortunate to travel to South Africa on their L1011. Amazing service and highlight of my trip was a trip to the flightdeck and we were flying over the Sahara at the time. I got to see how amazing the view up there was with those big cockpit windows. For some reason and I still don't know why to this day, it was a three leg trip. First leg to Athens, then onto Mombasa then onto JHB. Day flight too so got to take in some amazing views. Great memories!!
