Might have to pick up that Phoenix Qatar A35K since I unfortunately missed out on the AV400 release!

Re: Phoenix 400 May Releases

Once again 2 doubled freighters releases this month, as far as I concern JC wings released the Kalitta-DHL 777 and announced the Turkish both with the same registration as Phoenix new releases is this business or lack of imagination ?
I honestly don't understand this hobby anymore what a disappointment

Difference being that Phoenix releases stuff the following month, not the following decade.

Absolutely true in fact I ordered the JC wings Turkish in june 2020 and still no sign I was thinking to cancel the order and get the Phoenix version
what you guys think it's better mold in this particular case ?

The JC Wings 777 has the better mould, although the Phoenix 777 is still pretty decent. In terms of printing detail JC Wings is much better. However as you say JC's release schedule is erratic to say the least!

The Dragonair 744 is interesting, but picked up B-KAB a few month ago.
Probably a quiet month for me.

Going for the Turkisch Cargo B777 which will stand nicely next to my other PH Cargo B777īs.. Maybe add the Kalitta to it but not sure..

The Thai 77Ws and ANA 772 are the ones I’m most interested

(NOT directed at you specifically)
Nothing wrong with the PH 777 mould; I've got many of them! Some of the anal retentiveness is getting old. Just buy what looks good to you and stop asking opinions from those who have an agenda. The hobby is supposed to be fun, and bring enjoyment to yourself, so stop worrying about what others think!!

Re: Phoenix 400 May Releases

I'm with Andrew on this one! I've always liked the Phoenix 777 mould! JC may be better as some of the collectors who analyze/scrutinize them have opined, but I don't look at em with a magnifying glass and pick em apart! I just display them with the others and view them from a distance and enjoy! Some on here would find issues looking at a 1 to 1 version!LOL

Re: Phoenix 400 May Releases

Your comment is true in some way, but is always good to get a second opinion 4 eyes will always see more than 2 and if I am going to pay for a model almost $50 plus shipping I would like to have the one with the best detailed as possible
I do have almost all the 777F from phoenix and they are ok to me, unfortunately my only 3 JC wings models are the air france cargo , Southern air-DHL & aerologic and they are a total mess.
and on the other hand Richard you are suggesting that I should wait for the JC wings instead ? as they are more accurate ?
Thanks !!

Here's another opinion for you. The reason I don't buy any Phoenix is because I can't stand the bright shiny finish on their landing gears. Every other manufacturer slaps on landing gear in some sort of gray shade. Maybe that's not accurate either, but for me, that's what I like.

I don't think Richard is suggesting that you wait. He gave you his opinion and said the Phoenix is decent. It's up to you to decide. And like Andrew said, buy what looks good to you. You will always find something wrong with every model. Even what some call a "perfect mould" will have something like gears installed crooked, or a cheatline a millimeter off, or whatever.

I quit pre-ordering JC Wings long ago after I experienced the same kind of wait you're experiencing now. Could be wrong, but aside from that trio of ANA A380s, I don't get the impression that you'll miss out on anything JC produces if you don't pre-order. Same deal with AV400, which I'm still waiting for a model ordered in fall of 2020.....

Re: Phoenix 400 May Releases

I don't hesitate to buy any Phoenix models except the 744. Although I'm not a huge fan of the glossy wing finish and they seem to like to glue the engines on pointing in different directions, they deliver a generally good product on time.
