Same here, I collect almost exclusively 1/200s, but this model is so perfect I can’t pass it up

Absolutely gorgeous, I can’t wait to receive mine! It just blows my mind how people get so worked up over these models and companies and just can’t accept a gorgeous model when it’s here...

I think the appeal of 200 scale is the size itself first, quality second (of course both are very important.) I don't think it's too far fetched to say that this 737 looks more like a 737 than a 1:200 version. NG's Tristars look way better than any of the 1:200 Tristars in terms of accuracy because no one could get the nose correct.

totally agree, Im bailing out of all my 1/200 737's and now L-1011s due to inaccuracy.. and to think some of those have been in my collection for nearly 15 years. This is why I love DAC, excellent advice given..Are there any others in 200 scale I need to know about as inaccurate? Thank god these guys came along to set the record straight.

HOT HOT HOT??

COLD COLD COLD is the water some of you need to splash on your faces for a wake up call, or a reality check.

Not to nit pick or anything, but....
1/ the shade of blue is a mile off. That shade of blue represents the current color scheme, and not the lighter, almost purple, Canyon blue that graced this color scheme! That's already a no go item for me, but there are more...
2/ what's with that unsightly, oversized protractor triangle on the NLG strut? Completely out of scale and an eyesore.
3/ oh wait, y'all love antennas so much, but they forgot the antenna just behind the cockpit.
4/ the 737-700 should sit at a different attitude. I'm not going to tell you all everything, but you get the picture.

Thankfully, I already have a Southwest 737-700 in my collection which is a heck of a lot better, more accurate, and cheaper no doubt, than this next generation abortion.

HOT HOT HOT, more like HA HA HA!!

The head of aeroclassics complaining about inaccurate colours is hilarious. Genuinely made me laugh as they have consistently messed colours up on various models.

1) When it comes to color, you can't trust a jpg. You know NG sometimes goes overboard on the editing for their photos. Maybe don't criticize the color until you've seen it yourself? I'm not saying you're wrong about this one, just too quick to judge.

2) The nosegear strut barely looks too big to me. IRL it should be even less noticable because the 737-700 is pretty small.

3) N252WN doesn't have that one in real life. KEKW

4) Yeah, it should be a bit nosedown irl. Again, don't be too quick to judge. The angle of the photos is a little high to tell if the tilt is correct or not. I can tell you if they got it right once mine arrives.

Also, abortion is not something to joke about. That joke was not funny in the slightest.

Have a nice day.

Oh goodie, another thread that has devolved into an argument between members...

Disregarding that, I may try to pick this up to go along with my Gemini version from 2014, the last time they did a full-flavor Canyon Blue release.

I suspect they oversaturated the colors in post processing again. Hopefully it’s more subdued in person. The mould looks great

There IS technically a tiny aerial behind the cockpit but I don’t think it’s doable in 1/400.

1) It's pretty obvious that NG placed the lighting very close to the model and the picture is oversaturated. It will inevitably look brighter and more vibrant than it actually is.
Meanwhile, I'd say the definition of a color being "a mile off" is rather represented by this model:

2) Here is a comparison of the GJ/JC nosegear, the NG, and the real one:
Keep in mind, this is 1:400 scale we're talking about. Therefore I'd say it is very accurate for its size. Not to mention, all the other "competitors" besides NG and Panda can't even adjust the nosegear door size to save their life. NG has also modified the strut detail in early 2020 to make it as proportional as possible. Any attempt of making it smaller will result in nothing but snapping off. It's as close as you're gonna get.

3) Already explained

4) How in the world would you know the attitude of how the model sits, when the background is pure white and there is no "horizon" at all? All of my NG 738s tilt forward as they're supposed to, and so I imagine these will be the same as well.

Thank you for reading,

Man, what can I say?! It’s getting worse with every new post from you, Andrew.

I regret you won’t take any advice but please - please! - try and leave your in-house problems where they do belong. In house. I am sorry you made a couple of bad experience with your business - as per your signature, there’s a lot to talk about - but there’s no interest in you hijacking almost every thread dealing with NG Models and the like where collectors (I mean real and unbiased collectors) are talking about what they like or dislike concerning the model discussed. There’s no problem with critics, not at all, but what you’re doing constantly is pure bashing because your ‘involvement’ in the business does not allow any collector’s view. Deal with and solve your (business-related) problems with other brands (well, almost every other brand besides old Jet-X and your new allies, Gemini, obviously) for yourself and outside this forum.

Topic-related replies and respect in general are required by the forum rules. It’s time to apply this obgliation to any forum members - disregarding his date of registration, business-involvement or whatsoever.

Now that all your four points have gone down the water, I think we can go back to discuss Southwest 737 released by NG again. And, yes, if something’s done really good, there’s reason to call it that way.

Canyon Blue is a tough color. Seems to fade quickly on the 1:1 versions.

Id like to point out a correction to the quote above. The owner of AeroClassics is not allied, partnered, or has any connection to Gemini. His comments are solely on his own and not influenced by anyone at Gemini.

Thanks - but no correction needed. You and everyone else surely got it that ‘allies’ was related to his argumentation as a forum member and not to any business relations.

I find it amazing that whenever I lay valid criticism on a model that, as a collector, I refuse to buy, the usual apologists and NGbots go insane and try to deflect this exchange in every way possible, to keep the attention on me, or whoever dares to complain, and not the flawed model. Those who dared to criticize me personally above, should go look at themselves in the mirror.

Look, Everyone has an opinion. I'm pretty sure everyone knows in this thread that yours is biased and just simply an "agenda". Come back with an opinion that will make me respect yours. I'm not saying that it does not have to be positive. The post you made sounded more biased than an opinion.

It would appear to me that many of the replies were pointing out that your criticism are not actually valid, like the real life plane that the model is based on not actually having the cockpit antenna, making the model accurate in not having one.

Lets all face it, if it wasn't for AKlein this forum would put us all to sleep. He is keeping it alive with debates, criticism and of course controversy! I throw mine in too from time to time but half the time I'm usually wrong and only at a fraction of his pace ..

And you're so pathetic, you look like a %&#$^. If you think that shade of blue is perfect, then you can not be taken seriously. Why did you bring up GJ? That is not the point of discussion. Try arguing the points, instead of deflecting elsewhere. I don't smoke; I'm healthy and happy! I'm sure you're sorry to hear that, but I really don't care.
Carry on!

It's probably really hard to get Canyon Blue right. The shade comes out very different depending on the lighting situation, and the blue has faded to be lighter on some older aircraft. I honestly don't really think that there's a true right or wrong to Canyon Blue anymore, as photos have so many different shades to them. This may not make much sense to you, call me stupid or whatever, but that's how I see it. As long as the model isn't drastically off (such as the NG AA A321, GJ AA A320, AC UA A319) then I don't care that much.

The thread is about the hideous WN 73G!! Why bring up the UA 319 from 3 years ago? A good diversion tactic, but still doesn't address the issue.

Well because it still doesn't ignore the fact that you're criticizing other companies for their paint work while you've proven in the past countless times that you (your brand) can't flawlessly do paintwork either. Normally I'm not the type to nitpick about paintwork, but in my opinion you're the last person to criticize to this extent about NG's Southwest paintjob.

What issue? The colors on the NG SWA 737? If they are wrong, who the heck would buy it? People have to be crazy to buy a model with the wrong colors. So these models will just sit on retailers' shelves because of wrong colors and the handful of NGbots will be happy with their wrong-colored SWAs. Who cares! It's about time for AeroClassics to step up and save us from these NGbots ruining the hobby! 737 NGs by AeroClassics! Make em with the Delta liveries and put em in generic boxes, you know we'll buy them!

Speaking of wrong colors, a re-release of the NWA DC-9-50 in correct bowling shoe livery red would really make 2021 a banner year for me.....

As a side note: There’s quite much to tell from that: credibility, honesty, reflection. Or simply: people living in glass houses should not throw stones.

And again, by repeating false statements (totally wrong colour tones), theres still no truth in it. Even your former US President didn’t succeed with that strategy. Sorry for getting off topic slightly. It was meant for the good of your reflection. And the criticism comes from many users with well over 14 or 16 posts. What are you trying to tell, Andrew? I am not getting involved in this discussion but I am observing things and asking questions.
