Default Geminijets April announcement

Here we go. It seems they use the JC mould for the 777f this month.

MY DREAMS HAVE COME TO LIFE!!! (sorry for the Waffle-like exclamation points ) Getting one American Eagle CRJ-900!

As for the rest of the releases I am very impressed! A FedEx MD-11, three retros (I know a few folks on here that are gonna be happy about that ), and an Emirates A380 plain livery! May snatch those up down the road if they stick around long enough.

I still don't understand why GJ keep releasing the -800F interactive series and not the regular mold why not both ? it's too complicated ?

Certainly nice to see the New York Air Mad Dog.

It is good to see retros but I'd have thought any proper retro collector will already have either the NG Models or Aeroclassics versions of the 757, and probably the Aeroclassics USAir 737-300, all of which are using superior moulds to the Gemini versions.

Nonetheless an interesting variety of releases

AA CRJ900 is nice in theory but probably subject to the same issues as the Delta, ie abysmal quality and a ludicrously low amount made.

New York Air MD-80 is exciting. For this model I can overlook a fair bit of quality issues. Will most likely get one if they do a decent job.

My Aeroclassics USAir 733 is damaged beyond repair, that's why I'm ordering the Gemini one.

I agree..definitely getting the New York Air MD-82. I'm passing on the USAir 737-300..already have the Aeroclassics release in the same scheme. One question I have Richard... is Gemini now using the JC mould for the 737-300? And if so, is it better than Gemini's mould?

There has never been a JC mould for the 737-300. The mould used is the old Gemini mould updated with aerials. It isn't spectacular but it isn't shocking either. The biggest issues are the shape of the cockpit/nose region mean that cockpit printing can be variable and the mould continues to have a taildown attitude.

Some of the recent releases have been decent (Western for example) and some have been poor (United Saul Bass) so it is a bit hit and miss.

Thank you Richard. I wasn't aware that JC didn't have their own 737-300 mould. Hopefully Gemini will improve on it eventually...(I'm not going to hold my breath)

I'm with you there... luckily I already have an Aeroclassics USAir 737-300 in the same scheme. I'm just pondering what to do with my Southwest N714CB when it comes in since it's obviously tail heavy. I'll probably have to make some kind of tail stand to put under it..hopefully I can make it not so obvious..visibly..

If your shelf is slightly off level like most are you can probably find a way to get it to sit upright, but any time there's a breeze or you bump the shelf a bit it will tip over. The degree of tail-heaviness seems to vary a fair bit between individual models, maybe you'll be luckier than I was.

In my experience though the 737-400 and -300 that I've had are just impossible to get to stay up no matter what

I may be OK here after all....my shelves now tilt in a bit when I anchored them to the wall....I've displayed everything "tails out" instead of "nose out".. It has really helped my "tail draggers"... especially the Gemini Southwest 737-500 N504SW and Gemini Continental 737-800 N12216. This is the ONLY way I have ever gotten either one of these models to sit on their nose gears. Hopefully N714CB will sit properly too..

It seems like they’ve been pushing back the announcement date every month for the new releases, now it seems to be at the end of the month instead of at the beginning of the month!

I suspect the announcement will be for a June release set, as we’re so close to the end of May.

I've said this on other threads, but I don't think any manufacturer has ever maintained consistency from month to month, for as long as I've been collecting. Chinese New Year always messes with the schedule, but even during other times of the year I don't think manufacturers ever provide a typical announcement date, so I'm not sure why people continue to expect any different (not aiming this statement at you, nevec45, just a general observation).

But they don't always use the JC moulds for their 777's and 787's. They often still use their old cradle moulds.

I thought GJ used to have a 5-week release schedule. Is that changed now due to the pandemic?

I wonder if they're simply sitting on a large number of already produced cradle mould models and want to expend them before they switch over.

I don't know that they've ever stated that, perhaps they did at some point, but there's been inconsistency long before the pandemic.

I've heard that suggested before as well, and it is a logical explanation.

Just saw Gemini Jets posting pics of the boxes for the April models on their Instagram. Photos of the models themselves may be posted before sunset here in the States, otherwise they'll be out by Monday of next week.

Pics are out! A little disappointed they didn't paint the winglets on the American Eagle... (unless it is supposed to be like that but I doubt it)

Hopefully they figured out the correct way to attach the main landing gear.

Love the China Airlines Cargo 777F and Royal Jordanian 787, surprised they used the JC mould for the 787

So it seems that April/May are combined releases and we won’t be seeing new models till June?

The Royal Jordanian 787 is on the newer JC mould! Good to see that things might finally be changing at the factory?

I would buy more 787s if they used that mould, better yet they use JC’s 777 permanently too

If Gemini is really switching over to the JC 787 and 777 moulds, then it’s laying the foundation for a new era at Gemini Jets in my opinion.

Yes I agree!! They need to change their strategy if competing with the likes of NG! I'm really impressed with their 777. It's looking good!!

If they releases models June 1st,

will there be a Late June release?

Or maybe GJ are going back to releasing the first of every month

Maybe they'll announce in early June, with models arriving last week of June.
