Hello Douglas

I'm really pleased that you like our models and thank you for your kind words. We decided to make the models free because I am retiring and closing down the business. I didn't want the models to be 'lost', so I thought it would be best to make them freely available for everyone to enjoy!

Best regards
Dale McLoughlin

Subject: Your Free Airport Models.

Hello. I am Douglas Seeley of Bradenton, Florida, U.S.A. and I have purchased some of your products in the past, and very much appreciate their precision and design. You have decided to make your products available free of charge, and I am grateful for this. Should I live long enough, I will become adept at assembling some of your more involved designs. Compared with some pre-finished 1/400 scale plastic terminals, your models provide detail and authenticity.equal to, or exceeding those. Again, thank you for this gift, Doug

The kits from these guys, plus another that Adrian Balch sent me, gave me immense inspiration and have got me started on a mammoth design project of my own. I have many of these Airport Design kits from years past, when they were still being sold ready printed. Their 1955 LHR Control Tower & BOAC hangar (BA Technical Block A, now a listed building) are still waiting to be built! Dale is a good bloke for sharing these free with the community. Shame he's closing up shop. Hope you get around to building yours Doug!

Wait this is where I got my terminals from! Really really recommended for anyone building an airport, on cardboard and glossy paper tho.

What I like about Airport designs stuff is that they offer such a variety - you can mix and match to create the right model airport for your needs. I have a good photo printer and can foul up any number of construction attempts, print more copies, and go again.... I also have some Herpa 1/500 airport buildings that I can upscale 20% in Photoshop and get more 1/400 possibilities. I like Redrado's airport, and my own virtual airport may yet become a reality.
