Default Announcement: Two New NG Model Moulds

Hi All. It is time for the announcement of the two latest new NG Models moulds. This time around I thought I'd do it a bit differently and try and add a bit of drama to it so check out my announcement video on my Youtube channel.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo4...n30lsxXJ3UTy_A

I'm sure some people will be disappointed and others elated. Some may have to eat a little humble pie, but I'm sure they won't

I will be following this video up over the next few days with exclusive detailed review content on the website and on the Youtube channel so as always subscribe to see it first.

It was only inevitable that kind of airliner would be made. We still got five more to go, hopefully they’re real good ones

Interesting, I never imagined two whole molds of these would ever be viable with the limited amounts of examples made, but definitely a cool choice

Well that's come completely out the blue, very welcome I hasten to add. The '757-ski' as I used to call it. Looking forward to adding some nice examples into my collection.

Obviously joking - these are gonna be awesome, I can't wait for an Aeroflot CCCP one!

Interesting! IIRC, a year or more ago the speculation was that Panda would be bringing this one out and NG might wind up doing the model Panda actually then brought out, to much acclaim.
I really hope this does well as it gives me hope for my own particular obsession. I'll certainly be getting many of the potential releases even though it is one type I've never actually managed to get a flight on.

I commend the announcement of something never made in 400 scale. I for one, welcome these new additions to 400 scale, and having flown before within Russia on the Ty-204, there is something new to collect. Credit where credit due, and I await their new releases!

I'd like one in 200 scale. Red Wing would be my choice.

For those unfamiliar there is a well documented crash caught on dash cam of the Red Wing TU 204 flight 9268 at Moscow Vnukovo Airport. I'm not promoting anyone to see the videos but it was all over the internet at the time.

Here is another really cool video of a TU 204 putting out a rare contrail on takeoff:

Oh yes! Like the one at the 1991 Paris Airshow for example.

It is a pity that, AFAIK, none were ever repainted in the rather snazzy 2003 silver colours.
This, AC's revived Ty-154B/M and the Panda Ty-134A/B makes me very happy! If only the Retro-Models Ty-104 had survived.

The Retro Models Ty-104 still exists and there is a better than good chance you'll see new releases this year, although not under the Retro Models brand.

Admire that NG Models seems to prioritise collectors' interests above their financials.

But still wanting a new A220 or CSeries mould...

That is excellent news, although not, unfortunately, for the Retro-Models people. I hope that whoever looks at working this mould in future considers tweaking the undercarriage a bit. The off-road tyres were the only real weakness of the mould IMHO.

Very interesting and unique moulds!! Really want to see DHL, Cubana and Air Koryo. When you said two moulds I think we all though they were totally different moulds and not just two variants haha, but still, great news to see this mould in 1:400 scale.

They actually wrote the name of the aircraft on the other side of the box, which is why you never saw that side of it

I was super surprised when I originally opened the box the boxes came in though.

Count me among the disappointed. There are much greater needs in 1:400 than these low-production end-of-Soviet-era airliners. That said, I'm not surprised to read your review finding that the moulds are up to excellent NG standards. Sounds like the models will be high-quality. Those who wanted these types will no doubt enjoy them very much.

I'll buy one TU-204 in Aeroflot CCCP colors, or some variety of Aeroflot, to represent the type in my fleet, and that's probably about it.

Let us know when NG gets their 747-100/200 out, and when they do an MD-80.

Ahh so this is what NG did with their original RB211 757 engine mould!

I´m with you! Still I appreciate them going a totally different way (knowing that folks are still going to buy it just because IT`S ACTUALLY GONNA LOOK LIKE THE DAMN THING!)
And if they deem the TU204 viable, just think what they are willing to come up with in the future...

Dito, those are the ones I'm waiting for as well - add a 727 and some 707s.

Those Tupolev samples look nice, but the 204 never really got my interest. I'll take a Red Wings -100 and probably a Koryo -300.

But thank you to NG for doing such stuff! Looking forward to future mould developments.

I had heard different, as I was told the mould is in a different factory to other moulds and the owner won't sell it unless there has been a new development?

Not a mould that is top of my list (DC-9-10 please, Andrew), however I will certainly take an Air Koryo 100 (flown on), Air Koryo 300 and a Transaero Tu-214 (flown on).

I will also most likely take some other Russian carriers such as KMV Avia if they are made, as well as the original Aeroflot CCCP- version.
