Default Aviation400's Latest New Mould - Airbus A380

Hey all. As AV400 seem to have posted on Chinese social media already I'll bring the announcement I had scheduled for next week forward a little.

AV400 continue to focus on modern widebody jets and it is somewhat ironic that as the last A380 leaves the factory a new mould appears for it in 400 scale. Read on for my thoughts about this new mould and the first shots of the resin sample:

I want to see AV400 do an Emirates A380, and not a special livery for Pete’s sake! Gemini does way too many of those. Overall the mold looks decent, hoping for some decent releases with it soon.

This will surely happen within the first year or two of the mould's run

Interest that av400 have made a new a380. By the looks of the resin sample, it looks very good. There’s not really many a380s I’d get as I only ever see a few at my local airport. It would be nice to see emirates

Sorry but that's daft and I'm disappointed. Releasing a mould that Gemini and Phoenix have done already and not many airlines purchased the 380 anyway. They could've produced a mould for another airliner that hasn't really been covered properly or in the event it's just been done once!

Agreed. But probably this mould won't pop up very often in AV400 announcements. And I guess they won't do Emirates.

Good move! A good A80 in 1/400 is long everdue. The sample looks like it comes out of a 3D printer.

I hope they improve the undercarriage a little more simililar A380 NG looking.

Not what I was expecting... I'm not really planning to add more A380s to my collection. I'm fine with my EK Expo 2020 by GJ.

It would be nice if they'd applied some mat grey primer to those parts to actually see something. Can't really tell if I like what I see so. But an A380 isn't on my want list anyways.

Emirates will have the same licensing problem as Delta Air Lines has now. Gemini will make sure of it that they will be the only one supplying the market their inferior models - sadly.

Hopefully one release can sneak through, though.

They’re pretty gosh darn secret, so it’d be a little difficult for them to do so. If this went through, though, I will not be happy.

To add to their inferior mold, they only do special liveries; last normal livery A380 release was about 10-ish years ago, so if AV400 can please us with such (and a normal livery 777 in the same release), I think many would be happy and I’d get them.

Based on a few comments above, if Gemini was smart, they will lower the quality a lot more on their inferior A380.. This will cut their costs so they can make even more money on it.. What a win win situation we can all endorse! I know that I do...

Quite agree! They would be better off making a new DC-9-10 - smaller model= cheaper= more sales, lots of schemes, not yet made to todays' standards and no licencing issues for the majority of airlines. Waste of money investing in another A380 mould.

Very disappointing. I'm not going to repeat what others on this forum are screaming for, but something different really would be nice with these new mould announcements. The kind of excitement generated with Panda's recent TU-134 announcement or GJ's A400M is lacking lately with these new mould announcements.

To Crownvic and Aklein707,

Ahh you guys....... very predictable answers.

As a grown man I still buy myself toy airplanes (very expensive for what they are) and because I am a middle aged man I want my toys to the best reproduction of the real thing. Gemini was good when these toys were new, around 1999/ 2000, but the market has moved on and better player emerged (some of them unlicensed). So I went to those.

Gemini doesn't cut it for me anymore. But let them have all the money in world, if that makes them happy selling mediocre (but fully licensed) replicas of commercial airplanes.

Thanks and have a good day.

CBL,

Yes, some are good. Mostly the ones produced by JC Wings for them. But the A380, the B787-8/9 and the B777 are not. Then you have the B787-10 which is better again.

Definitely agree!! Their A400M is stunning to say the least!! In fact I don't think they could be beaten on both this (A400M) or their C-5 Galaxy's!! I cannot fault these models at all!! On the civil side, yes some are little inferior to other manufacturers but then there are moulds like their B763's/MD-11's that are awesome!!!

Pretty sure AV400 isn't exactly going to abide by copyright laws considering their near-phantom operation that for some reason, produces excellent models. I do not believe AV400 was on the list provided to retailers by the Delta copyright lawyers.

I am pretty sure that if they were to attempt to sic lawyers onto Av400, the bill for finding out where to send the email would exceed the yearly revenue of Gemini Jets.

It wouldn't be that hard, Delta could have their lawyers contact the dealers/retailers selling the unlicenced AV400 models, and threaten to sue them if they don't give the contact information.
Now, contacting every buyer who has purchased unlicenced models - that would cost more than Gemini's yearly revenue and has 0% chance of happening...
