Default Aviation400 SAS A350-941

Hi.

I noticed today when taking some photos in good light that the red beacon on top is like a "red rubin", not painted. Looked like "ON". Have you noticed this before?

That’s a unique characteristic of all Aviation 400 models (just like the 1:200 models). I think that’s a pretty nice feature to be honest, even perhaps being a bit too big it adds realism.

Thanks!
This is my first model from the ”new” Aviation 400.
Never seen this before and it adds some reality even if a bit big.
I like it, now when Iv’e seen it.

I first noticed them on their A330-MRTT releases. A nice touch and when they catch the sunlight look very real.

Not just on top. Turn it over and the one on the belly is the same.

Thanks Richard.

Since I haven’t done any up-side-down photos so far, thanks for the info.

I do not own any AV400 models yet but have seen those beacon lights in pictures. It's a really cool feature that adds a bit more realism.
Nice model!

Confessions. I love this mould. Probably too much. I have the Singapore, AF, Lufthansa, SAS, SAA, Cathay Pacific, JAL with Delta on pre-order.

I also like AV400's version more than the NG version too. I've got the Singapore, Air France, and Lufthansa (new colors) with Delta on pre-order as well. I've got SAS and Cathay listed on eBay right now. Nothing wrong with the models, I'm just at a stage where I'm narrowing the focus of my collection, and dare I say it, stepping a bit into the 1/200 world.

It depends which JC version you are talking about - the new revised one or the older one. However if you mean the newer one with the modified nose then it is a close run thing. For me the AV400 wins by a smidgen:

https://www.yesterdaysairlines.com/a...omparison.html

Then again on a pure points basis the NG mould wins for me:

That wouldn't stop me buying the AV400 mould though of which I own 12 compared to 1 NG, 3 JC wings and 2 Phoenix

I only have two A350-900 and it is the SAS from AV400 and a Thai from GJ. Then AV400 is far better. Can't judge the JC version but I recently got their Thai B747 HS-TGY "Flaps up" and it was very impressive.

Thanks Richard. I had to make the decision recently when I bought an Etihad 350-1000 and had the option of buying the AV400, which in a bewildered few minutes of deciding and nearly pressing 'select', I opted for the JC version instead, but with the flaps down option! I think this was the decisive factor for me, as I have no airliners in my collection that are in the flaps down mode.

I think that is why we have to wait so long before the AV400 models are for sale.. They have get some ruby´s and chop them into these small lights.. I have an Air Caraibes A350-1000 and it is a gorgeous model..
