Default NG models future A320 moulds??

Will NG models produce A319/A320 moulds from their current A321 mould in the future? We’ve seen new 737-600/700/900 moulds already announced so it may be a possibility hopefully!

It’s likely that they will. The a320 is a huge money earner. I’d like to see one as there are quite moulds that have seen better days and by doing these money earner moulds, they could potentially do more unique moulds.

Why not focus on something that hasn't been made yet? Like a decent Baby 9? Would rather see DC-9-10s made.

Absolutely - the market is saturated with A320 & A319 models made quite satisfactorily. A DC-9-10/15 is an excellent suggestion.

An interesting prospect but dc-9s are more of a niche market and the a320 family have a larger demand in the 1/400 market. Arguably, there are quite a few a320s that haven't been made, especially in Europe.

DC-9's are most definitely NOT niche. They are one of the most widely-used narrowbodies in history, especially if you count the MD-80 derivatives.

I for one would like to see MD-80 and DC-9-10 moulds long before yet another A320-derivative. I really don't want to see NG turn into a repeat of Gemini, JC, Phoenix, etc. Classics, please!

I would disagree, most new collectors that recently got into model collecting are looking for modern collections (including myself) and a DC-9 mould while really cool, appeals to a more retro collecting audience which tends to be more of a niche market.

Absolutely agree.
I'd think that there's a strong demand for just another 320 - if its a good one anyways. Particularly when looking at the growing Asian market I doubt that a baby-9 could ever be more than niche.

Still, I'd take some "NG-quality" baby-9, 707, 727 or MD-80 anytime over just another babybus.
But if it's got to be one, Germania A319 to start and finish my 319 collection..

I thought the DC-9 would be an Aeroclassics niche! Its all in the word 'classic'! If anything, AK should be concentrating on airliners like that and the likes of NG and JC on the more modern stuff!

As a big (former) Aeroclassics fan I'm afraid to say that I'd much rather see new classics moulds by the "new stars" on the market.
I don't expect much if any new development from AC these days. As much as I love classic stuff.

why not 747-200? The newest 742 mold was from phoenix and they basically tried to make a CRJ from it, the aeroclassics/bigbird is fine except for the lack of modern style landing gear, and their 747sp is just fantastic.

It's my understanding that this is set and confirmed. At least NG sounded that way.
And it would be highly welcomed as I consider the BB/AC mould to be far from great. Starts with the rather round nose via the completely outdated pylons moulded in wings, their crude engines and ends with the incorrectly shaped v.tail.
The AC/BB got some of my money many years ago. Today money is held back for something better - and my wishlist is long.

I agree. For me, a DC-9-10 is an absolute must... I think that a really decent MD-80 is a priority over yet ANOTHER A320 mould. I would also welcome another 727 mould before another A320... As popular as the A320 family is, it is very well represented by several great or decent moulds.

I am surprised that the MD-80was never requested that often, as it always seemed to be pretty popular. Why wouldn't it be nicknamed if that wasn't the cae...?

That would be great if Aeroclassics would develop a DC-9-10 mould. Their DC-9 -30's/40's/50's are the best, and I would definitely welcome that... same for the MD-80 and MD-90

There was a long thread in this forum after NG had done the 757 asking what they should do next. The consensus moulds were L1011, 747, and MD-80. They've done 2 (well, at least started on the 747 series) of those requests, let's hope the mad dog is next in line for takeoff. 😉
