Exclusive to Yesterday's Airlines I would like to announce NG Models latest 3 new moulds. Check out the link for the usual analysis and sample mould photos.
Exciting, honestly surprised about the 736, I didn’t feel like there was a market for two great molds. But the 737-700/900 are great news. The only drawback is it means they’ll probably be able make less models we request because now there’s three more molds with liveries people will demand.
Oh yes! This is what I love to see! This opens up the door for so many more requests!
Gonna start off here for my request because why not:
- Southwest Louisiana One (no exclusive)
- Southwest Nevada One (CB tail with winglets)
- Alaska with spilts (-900)
- Sun Country -700 (N713SY, last one in their fleet I believe)
There's some nice options for those moulds, the 737-700 especially.
Would love to see several of the Southwest liveries yet to be made, Ryanair 737-700, United 737-900 in the latest livery, Flyglobespan as mentioned for the 737-600

More Southwest State Flag Liveries!
Yes, this is great news. Hopefully they'll use some split scimitars and make Southwest's Missouri One. And a 700 with standard winglets and make either N711HK, or N714CB in "gold retro" livery. Looking forward to seeing a ton of new releases on these moulds. I'm hoping that one of the 7 remaining new moulds will be the DC-9-10.. that one is DESPERATELY needed.

Very interesting review Richard. I’m excited to see what will be made with them. Personally I’d like to see some tarom and Tunisair made as they’ve barely had any mention in 1/400. It’d be nice to see a klm and sas 737-700s as they’re locals at my nearest airport
I really can't say I'm excited. I wouldn't even consider them three new moulds, but more like three new parts (fuselages) to go with an existing setup. Much like having RRs on a 747SP instead of the PWs.
So that makes only 7 new moulds to go? Is there still hope for something classic? 707, 727, DC-9-10 or MD-80? I'd think the 747Classics are save at least.
There is one 736 I might get, as I regularly saw it at both NUE and MUC: Tunisair.

Me for one! Pleased for those that want every variant of 737, but really...MORE 737s? My collection is swamped with them. Would much prefer to see a completely new type made!
None of these aircraft would have been high priorities for me. If I'm going to be paying north of $40 for a narrowbody, I want it to be an older and underproduced classic like the MD-80. I did get a few of NG's nice 738's.
There are competent 73G and 736 moulds out there. Gemini's 739 got the job done for the one 739 I care about (United, which is non-covid summer ROC visitor). That said, here is one 73G I especially want to see made. I'll leave it to either Aeroclassics or NG to make. It would fit either of their lists. Eastwind 737-700, late 1990's. You got it, served ROC.

Very excited about the 737-700, somewhat excited about the -900, and not excited at all with the -600. An A318 would have been preferable over another -600. Yes, I'm thinking of Frontier A318s.

I'd love an Eastwind. You'd get one of these too wouldn't you Jim? I know I would:
Yes, I would get that one. DAC does not show anyone having done Midway Airlines II in 1:400. They used CRJ-200's to ROC but I don't see Gemini doing it anytime soon, and a representative of the carrier would be welcome.
Jim

Very happy to see another 737-700 mould! I don't usually beg for models but hopefully NG considers this one: Southwest 737-700 in the original Desert Gold livery with winglets!! First plane I ever flew on and the plane that inspired me to become a pilot!!! N730SW would be a great registration!!!
A bit of a shame...
Nothing much in my criteria unless they do some Virgin Blue or Oceanic stuff.

I totally get that producers can never please everyone, its just the way it is.
NG Models do great models, but I am yet to buy one - all their stuff to-date is just slightly better examples of what is already done (except maybe one or two modern Asian types I have no interest in).
I might get a 757 or TriStar of their's one day to upgrade, but really hoped their undoubted skills would be dedicated to true classics. Fingers crossed for the remaining 7 moulds. I think a large part of this is that I am getting old, and I find modern twin-jets incredibly dull and lacking any character. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course.
I'm glad loads of people are happy, but it's all a bit snoozeville for me. I'm not sure what I expected really, but happy to see other collectors really excited.
A lot of great liveries has already been mentioned here, but I want to add the blue variant of Shamu from Southwest — N715SW
That's a great one. I don't think that a 700 has ever been done in the Shamu scheme. I forgot all about that one.

The 3 new mould choices made by NG will probably be a very good investment for NG (despite not being to pleasing in my book).
These new moulds will allow them to rake in the money with all the Southwest specials they will probably do, not to mention all the other US carriers.
Gemini will be fuming.
I hope to see:
Air Niugini 737-700 (Kokoda track) + normal colours
Air pacific 737-700 (old colours) https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/21977 Although did they make a wingletless mould?

I'm very excited for these moulds particularly the 900. I wonder how they'll do the releases though? One of each? Two of each? But would love to see some more Southwest's in the 700 mould. But these are a must!!

I'd assume the only "new" on these are the fuselages. So they could use the existing winglet-less wing they already have. Everything else would be quite a waste from an engineering point of view.
I'm more a 'Classics (not classy) Guy' who would more appreciate NGM interpretations of the B 737-200, MD-80, and any of the 747 variants. Until then, I'll watch from the sidelines. Doug
I'm really looking forward to the 737-700. I think that the existing moulds have been ok, but many of the added features of those models (engines, winglets, and gears and gear doors especially) are chunky. I look forward to seeing these mould updated and in full production. I'll be happy to replace just about anything I have with these moulds provided the colors and printing are up to usually NG quality. Thanks for the write-up, Richard.

Re: NG Models Next 3 New Moulds Are...
Yes, something really new and innovating!! Not! I'm so glad to see more deja-vu and repetition; saves me a lot of money not having to buy what I already have!! More money for GJ, JC, PH, & AC!!

Aeroclassics are hardly new and innovating are they? At least NG has decent customer service.

Developing new moulds that others don't even bother to improve is new and innovative for me. This is definitely a better option for those collectors (including me) who avoid other brands because of countless reasons...
