Default JC 747-400 Bruce Lee 80th Anniversary edition.

I've seen this kicking about on various Facebook groups and ebay in the past couple of days. A fantasy release on the new 744 tooling to mark the 80th anniversary of the birth of Bruce Lee. A real hero of my childhood and popular culture, influencing so many people in many different ways, so it was a no brainer to order myself one. About £55 all in with HK to UK shipping so god knows when I'll actually receive it, but looking forward to it.

I always regarded Bruce Lee in high esteem too and also a hero figure in my younger days. I don't usually collect fantasy models but this one might be an exception!!

The yellow and black were Bruce Lee's trademark colours. If you're familiar with the Quentin Tarantino movie(s) 'Kill Bill' check out Uma Thurman's tracksuit.

I was thinking about this tracksuit first when I saw this 747 and then I remembered that the whole film is based on many of those "classic" movies, but still with its own character

I have the turkish 737-800 in the BVB livery, could also be an interesting collection criteria, to collect planes with same colors but of course not of one airline.

Great job by JC wings - congratulation to this beautiful model Big Al!

with best regards,
Jan

To mark the 80th anniversary of Bruce Lee, that's why. Don't forget this is primarily aimed at Hong Kong by Tiny City collectibles, where Lee is a huge icon. As earlier said there's a whole range of merchandising going on around the anniversary. Which incidentally has already passed in November.

...yup Big Al! Gotta laugh these days! Enjoy that Bruce Lee beauty! My brother who doesn't collect airliners, but who loves Bruce Lee may end up getting one. I sent him the link to a US retailer and he loves it from what he saw of the pics!

This 744 mould is looking good! I don't usually collect fictitious liveries but this does appeal if you're a fan of Bruce Lee!

I'm baffled by this release (not in a good way), JC Wings comes up with a great new 747 mould only to make a few limited Cathay and Thai releases and...Bruce Lee, out of all possible things

It's a customer commission by Tiny Cities Hong Kong utilising the JC Wings mould, not a release in the traditional sense. There's also a Korean 747 on the new tooling, but yes I'm sure plenty more will follow.
