Default Southwest special schemes

One of my favorite things about Southwest Airlines is their use of "special schemes". The first was the "Shamu" scheme which was introduced in 1988 during their partnership with Sea World. Here we have 737-300 N334SW and 737-500 N507SW
Southwest special schemes-shamu.jpg

Next I have 3 737-300's. N383SW Arizona One (introduced in 1994), N609SW California One (1995), and N325SW Lone Star One (1990)
Southwest special schemes-southwest-300s.jpg

Last are the 737-700's. N230WN Colorado One (2012), N945WN Florida One (2010), and N918WN Illinois One (2008) this one no longer exists as N918WN was returned to the lessor in September, 2020..
Southwest special schemes-southwest-specials-1.jpg

N214WN Maryland One (2005), N727SW Nevada One (1999), and N781WN New Mexico One (2000)

Final photo is N922WN Tennessee One (2016), N280WN Penguin One (2013 scheme no longer exists) N224WN The NBA's "Slam Dunk" One (2005), also no longer exists, and finally, fittingly at the front of the photo is N409WN Triple Crown One (1997)

All of these 737's are Gemini except for Florida One and Penguin One. Those 2 are Aeroclassics.

Great collection! WN special liveries are terrific, but likely outside my criteria for budget reasons.

Thank you. I love the special schemes. All I need are Louisiana One which I have pre-ordered, and Missouri One... which no one has done yet---Hint hint.. GJ or AC... and one I had forgotten all about... 737-300 N629SW Silver One. again...AC or GJ, hope you're listening. Would also be nice if someone would re-release Arizona, California and Lone Star on the 700's since the 300's are long gone..

Thank you purpleplane for sharing these pictures and the year that these liveries were introduced. I have been seeking this information for some time. These models all form part of my SWA collection.

You're very welcome. Glad that you found the information useful. I was able to at least find the year..although I'd much rather have the exact date they were introduced, if not at least the month. I'll do some digging, maybe I can find that info as well.

Nice models - Southwest does special liveries like nobody else. You never know which one might turn up at your nearest airport. Doug

Yes, I agree., they do. Sometimes you may see 2 or 3 specials in one day, or go a week without one.

Nice collection.
Kudos to Southwest for keeping their liveries interesting and colourful over the years, and not getting on the 'eurowhite' bandwagon.

Yep. I doubt no one will either. That one only existed for one month..February 2009. It is now in Tennessee One paint.

I think these guys have the mold that’s required for Missouri One... they’re releasing a regular Heart livery with the spilts, which I believe is the first time a 737-700 with spilts has been made in 1:400. https://www.rmmodelstore.com/

Never bought from these guys before either. Gonna look at this and see if it’s any good or not.

Would a 700 and 800 use the same wing? If so, Gemini has the 800 with the Scimitar winglets.

I believe they're relatively close but there may be some minor differences...

Awesome. That's one that hasn't been to my home airport in a long time.

I'm having the same problem. Apparently it hasn't been entered in the database yet.
I submitted request to add to DIMA database on their forum. Hopefully that will work.

Did you get a shipping notification? It says shipped but haven’t seen a tracking number.

Yes, got an email shipping confirmation from the Airplane Shop
on 12/30 and they included the tracking number with it. My model even arrived a day early, was estimated delivery for Jan 5th.

I stopped by the airplane shop in NJ on Saturday to pick mine up and they had plenty of them laying around in the showroom. Shouldn’t have to worry about order fulfillment at this point. That said, the guy there said that only 400 copies were made.

They should do a 737-700 on the desert gold livery (with winglets), hasn't had any releases yet.

Yes, that would be a good one. Aroclassics released one a few years ago, but nothing from Gemini

I'd buy one of these in a heartbeat, first plane I ever flew on and the best Southwest livery imo

Back to searching for Tennessee One, the one I ordered was 'over sold'. Anyone know where they are in stock?

Aeroclassics did the retro scheme which isn't the same as the OG livery, it has some noticeable changes.

Editing for clarity. Aeroclassics did this livery:

This version of the livery with winglets has never been done before, and is my all time #1 on my wishlist

Yes, Aeroclassics did N792SW in the retro gold scheme.. unfortunately, they didn't get the color right.. I agree...a 700 with winglets in the standard "mustard rocket" scheme is an absolute must...

Aeroclassics is really bad at the Desert Gold color. Here's an example.

Left is Gemini II Right is AC

They are. Gemini is much closer to the correct color.
