Default Exlusive: New Mould Announcement from AV400

Recently I've made a connection with AV400 and they have revealed to me that they are close to completing the design of their latest new mould. They have provided a few early sample photos for me to show. It seems the competition in 400 scale continues to ramp up. Check out the background on AV400 and the sample shots here:

https://www.yesterdaysairlines.com/m...next-new-mould

They also asked me what I thought they should make on it. I gave four suggestions in the post but what would you like to see on it?

Wow I am excited for this and a big fan of AV400 products. I hope they start off with some -8 liveries as that variant doesn’t seem to get as much love IMO. If they could also work on release schedules whether it’s monthly or every second month that would be nice.

Agreed, so many other moulds that could get made instead of another Dreamliner.

Wow, another 787...
I don't like that Plastebomber in real live, even less so in scale - no matter how well it is executed.

Isn't it about time for a good MD-80 or 727 in this scale?
I don't even dare asking for the real cool stuff like some short tail 707s...

Btw, that sample reminds on the days when I used to resin copy some of my 1/400 models for some nasty kitbashing.

Vietnam 787-9 please, no one's done a good one of those, all have either been bad moulds or had bad colours!

Ok this is pretty interesting. I need to say Av400 usually picks releases pretty nicely to something wanted in general, but being more specific, like specials or something that has been done but people missed... etc.

I’d love to see a JAL 789/8, British Airways 788 and Ethiopian 789.

Disappointment more than excitement if I'm honest. As a few of you have said already and I echo the sentiment, why another Dreamliner???
They could've chosen these just as a few examples:
A300/310
A340-500/600
B767-200/300
Boeing 747-200/300
DC-10
Yes they've been done before but not by every manufacturer compared to the 350/787!

I agree but in the end it's all about the bucks. Despite their sometimes issues this is why brands like Aeroclassics are so important.

Yes true and I agree with you but as good as AC are, I still think we should have alternatives so that at least there's another manufacturer as a second option, whereas with the 787/350 there are a firm three already.

Very interesting, I'd love to see a TUI 788 and maybe a 789 but I could take that or leave it. A Qatar 788 would be a welcome addition as they are very hard to come by. Oman Air would also be an awesome addition 🙂 🙂

Not really excited at all. As someone else suggested, I would have been more excited about a 777-200 if it has to be a widebody.

A B737-500, -700, or -900 or an MD-80 would have gotten me more excited. These are examples of models that just don't get used very often, or are outdated moulds, or have easily fixable issues like oversized landing gear tires that existing manufacturers just don't care about because they are the only game in town.

So, bring on some more 787s. Just glad it wasn't another L1011 or 747SP!

Here's the only 787 that would get me excited about buying.

Actually, if Phoenix would rework their moulds they would be the perfect manufacturer.

A little disappointing to see another mould that is so well covered elsewhere.

Silver lining is it will hopefully lead to more 787-8s being made, a few of the early ones could use redoing (Qatar, Avianca, JAL, BA, United, AA). Would also be nice if someone finally did the Latam 787-8, all we've got there thus far is the Lan Chile colours.

Not one for me. Could’ve done an older widebody like a 777 or an older Airbus.

With the amount of monthly releases ....what models could AV400 release before JCW, GJ400, PHX or NG?

My bet goes to NG or Panda on these.

Yet another current-day big-twin mould doesn't have much interest me. 1970's-1990's classics do.

I'm with Phantom and Purpleplane...let's see an MD-80 or 727, or a DC-9-10. Maybe selling a bunch of 787's can help fund them.

Also here I see NG far ahead AV400 as they released numerous 787s. And there are still some out there to be released. I doubt there will be a 727 by AV400 in the nearer future.
