Default JC 747 NEW MOULD 1:400 Virgin Atlantic "G-VLIP"

Came across this nice little model while on eBay. Missed out on it, but this is most definitely the new 747 tooling. Looks fantastic to me, and even looks like they refined the engines and corrected the cockpit window placement.

It looks fantastic! Unfortunately, I cant seem to find any information on it other than it is Labeled under one of JC's pseudo-names. You can tell by the orange box that they use for a lot of their releases such as Cathay or other brands with stricter licenses.

The only trace of it is from a completed listing... But I am sure we will see it pop up more soon!

I saw it on the JC Facebook page yesterday. I've asked as to it's availability but no reply so far.

I'm puzzled because I don't see anything in Ebay completed listings, nor do I see any posts on JC Wings official FB page later than them talking about the Beluga in August.

The model sold out in less than 4 hours. JC only listed 3-4 for sale. Apparently 320 pieces were produced under the orange box EW Wings.

More are expected to be sold. Underground chatter is JC wants to sell all solo but hopefully they end up at retailers

edit: More news - Apparently only the 747-400 1:400 FLAPS UP was produced. No news on a 1:200 or even 1:400 flaps down as of yet. This model is a definite amazing replacement to the Phoenix one. Oh well Phoenix - You lasted a good 5-6 months.

If you want to purchase it, give this a try:

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Virgin-Atlan...53.m1438.l2649

Head to that link. The model is sold out, but if you contact the seller (JohanChan2004) and let them know it is sold out but you'd like to purchase one, there is a chance they will send you an offer for it. That is just what happened with me, and it even came at a $10 discount to listed price... worth a try

He just relisted some and I nabbed one. I think there's one left. Maybe he is slowly dribbling them out.

Another 7 went up, I too nabbed one. There were 2 left by the time I paid for it. Just under £50 in total for model (£38) and UK shipping (£11).

They will definitely be listing more over the next few days. I was actually pleasantly surprised at the total cost plus shipping. For 2020 prices, it actually seemed reasonable! So much so, that I purchased a second one.

This livery is not one I'm interested in. But I'll be interested to see what else JC produces on this mould. There are 744's in which I would be interested, especially early classic users' delivery liveries.

I suspect "dribbling" will also be how the mould is used, unless NG produces a 744 (which I suspect would be definitive).

Iremember being excited when Iraqi Airways received thier 744 and 1st pics emerged of it out of paint shop. I really liked the scheme and hoped for someone to produce it. They did, unfortunately on the PHX mould. If this is ever realized on this mould I will jump on it.

Seems like an odd request in a 747 thread but 'FYI' both Dragon Wings and Gemini Jets did this years ago. Several times in the case of Gemini...

Yeah it's an awesome scheme! As for the mould itself let's hope they get the difference right between the P&W and GE engines.

The Iraqi would be a very nice model on the new mould and great in my collection (maybe flaps down version)..
