Question Mirror on da wall, who is the best of them all...

Not that i'm collecting in 1:400 that much anymore but can someone enlighten me as to which manufacturer produces the most accurate 1:400 Airbus A380 model so far, Gemini, JC Wings, Phoenix or Herpa?

I'd say Phoenix and Witty both made better A380s, GJ/JC and Herpa are inferior

Herpa - with distance to all others. PHX's undercarriage looks pretty toyish and the JC/GJ versions nosecone looks off, while the undercarriage did not change over the years (as it didn't on their 747). Herpa imho has got the most accurate distinctive nosecone of all mould available (undercarriage does not look great aswell, but at least its got the right proportiona).

Surprisingly NONE of the manfacturers did not nail the rear fuselage shape - yet. I mean, come on, it is not like that there are any A380 pics around.
Maybe NG (yes NG) will release a 98-99% accurate A380 mould one day. The hope never dies.

The only one Herpa produced with a correct livery is Lufthansa though. Phoenix is pretty much the best choice for anything that actually got made.

As far as the mould is concerned Herpa is the best choice. Feel free to push them for more releases. They got a soft spot for collectors...

Herpa barely bothers with 1:400 as it is. I seriously doubt they're going to release more A380's when they haven't made any in 7 years, essentially all the ones that exist have already been done in this scale, and the aircraft itself is mostly heading to the boneyard. And I'm not sure I agree the mould is that good from the pictures I'm seeing, but I will concede I haven't seen one in person, whereas I own quite a few of the Phoenix and GJ/JC ones.

Witty, but they’re sadly dead... so I’d say phenix best from the others. Although in my opinion JC has the best printings.

I've got the Phoenix versions and I personally think Phoenix are the only ones who've nailed this mould.

Thx you guys for all the inputs, comments & feedback but i'm leaning towards the Phoenix or JC wings version.. even though i'm not at all a fan of the Airbus A380, the bottom line is i just want one example in my 1:400 collection..
