Real tomato ketchup Eddie?
Nothing but the best! "I don't know why they call this stuff hamburger helper. It does just fine by itself, huh? I like it better than tuna helper myself, don't you, Clark?"
"you're the gourmet around here, Ed!"

Nothing amazing to me, most have already been done by other manufacturers
American, El Al, Hawaiian, and United was done by NG
Lufty was done by Panda
Volaris was already done by Aeroclassics
British and UPS were already done by Gemini, not interactive but I digress.

Just because it was made before, doesn't mean we all blindly purchased it!!

I will be getting the El-Al "Jerusalem of Gold 787 because the previous attempt at it was screwed up and the colors were wrong! Yes, your (not you personally) precious NG screwed it up!!

I did see they got the colors too saturated. Gemini's seems watered down almost to a light brown. If I'm colorblind and don't realize it I guess I'm the stupid one here

Also, the Delta A319 and A320 I have (AC) has the colors WAY too dark. I would've gotten the Gemini versions had they not been so rare by now. You shouldn't be criticizing other company's errors if you're having the same issue. That's the definition of a hypocrite. Just saying.

Regardless of colours the Gemini 787 is massively inferior to the NG one so I doubt NG's colours were so far off as to make it the inferior model.

Anyway nice to see the DHC-8 back and that one looks like it'll be worth getting. The rest are fairly standard and ordinary Gemini fare, which'll probably sell as the competing models, although superior on the whole, are made in lower numbers and known by less US buyers.

Aye, but GJ screwed up the previous BA A350 by forgetting the winglet Union Jack flags, so this one is much more accurate.

UA and AA widebodies again... Boring... Nothing for me this month. Would've gotten the Volaris A321neo but that mould is a piece of junk, IMO.

Yeah, I'm getting tired of seeing an AA and UA 787 or 777. Try something else next month.

Gemini's A320neo family molds have sucked, but the engine clearances are getting better on later releases. The nose and landing gear are still chunky and ugly.

The aforementioned Jerusalem of Gold 787 is a bit questionable; for now we'll see what the real photos look like.

The McChord C-17 is the only one I'm getting; I kind of want a C-17 and this one feels like the right one to get.

The 1:200s are amazing though. Why they're having better luck than the 1:400s I don't know.

My exact thoughts when I saw this list! Will get just the McChord C-17. 21111 rolled off the factory line when I worked on the program and it was one of the many C-17s I launched out of Rhein-Main/Frankfurt during the height of Iraqi Freedom.

If NG's version has the nose down attitude issue, then IT IS the inferior model.

Agreed. United's current livery is the worst, especially on wide bodies. Hope they switch back to a livery with some form of the tulip on it.

Totally agree with you!
I've always wanted to get a USAF C-17 but in 1:200 scale. I've seen pics of previous C-17s in 1:400 scale but they do not convince me at all. I think they should add some aerials and change the toy-like landing gear.

I question your objectivity, since in your opinion, your NG or Panda could never do wrong....

IIRC it was because the model had few, if any, external details, like the antennae, which is very critical to the model, otherwise it looks like a 737-800 with raked wingtips.

400 scale models without gimmicks, such as out-of-scale antennas are MORE ACCURATE than those with. That's not a skewed opinion, that's a fact!!

I would argue that the antennas on the P8 and some other military aircraft are large enough to be molded more easily and accurately in 1/400.

Unless you’re saying that the Panda is superior to the Gemini.

Don't like the Continental livery either. That livery looks good with Continental titles. I think what annoys me most about the current livery is the large obnoxious UNITED titles in ultra boring font.

Saul Bass, battleship, and final blue tulip were great liveries.

A bit odd to see you use this reasoning, as you routinely use the exact same point in other threads:

PandaModel new release
https://www.diecastaircraftforum.com...ml#post2779234
"Absolutely nothing of interest; most of this stuff has been done before!"

NG A330 - some input
https://www.diecastaircraftforum.com...ml#post2726118
"So many of what's being requested have already been done before, and in some cases, still available."

NG Tristars we still might need
https://www.diecastaircraftforum.com...ml#post2743794
"AC has already done all these, except the house colors, and to be honest, there's nothing wrong with them."

New NG Models Mould Review: Boeing 747SP
https://www.diecastaircraftforum.com...ml#post2779228
"I think that my 747SP collection is completed, years ago! There's nothing wrong with the GJ or JC 747SPs made over the years, and I have them all in my collection already."

I think it's fitting to say, "Just because those [A330's / L1011's / 747SP's] were made before, doesn't mean we all blindly purchased them!!"

It cuts both ways.

You have your facts wrong.. As previously discussed, the artwork supplied in advance by BA to Gemini at that time did not have the Union Jack flags on the winglets. The final sample and production model was approved by BA that way..

I didn't know BA had approved it, fair enough, however the point still stands that the first issue is inaccurate, so a re-release is a welcome addition.

If you prefer gimmicks over accuracy, then no, AeroClassics are not for you. There are more sophisticated collectors whom AeroClassics is catering to!

That's right, BA added the winglet colours later on. The original GJ represents the design as it stood and in uniform with other BA wingletted fleet.

Compared to a photo of the real deal, the antennas don't look out of scale to me. What am I missing here?

"I think that my 747SP collection is completed, years ago! There's nothing wrong with the GJ or JC 747SPs made over the years, and I have them all in my collection already."

I think it's fitting to say, "Just because those [A330's / L1011's / 747SP's] were made before, doesn't mean we all blindly purchased them!!"

It cuts both ways.
Just because it's been made before doesn't mean everyone has had the chance to get them.

That's what frustrates me about Aeroclassics. They had so much great stuff but they have almost a "no repeats" policy so it makes there models either impossible to find or makes them impossibly overpriced.

It's the main reason I got into making custom models. Why pay $200 on ebay plus shipping if I can buy a different AC 737 that isn't selling and convert it for the same price of a new one?

Just because it has been done before doesn't mean it won't sell, especially if the last example was made 5+ years ago

Youíre completely correct, although the lack of antennas on the Aeroclassics United A319 is the least of that modelís worries, the colors are way too dark, and the title is too far forward

This is my complaint with certain models from Gemini Jets, too. Iíve been looking for various US regional jets for months to no avail. When I do, of course itís on eBay and itís going for some absurd price. I suggest GJ should re-release and newly release some highly sought-after regional jets because thereís lots of demand for those things. I am not paying eBay prices to get these things; itís not worth it for a tiny piece of metal. Iím starting to see the number of requests for regional jets, like the Delta CRJ-900 (last release was in 2009), American Eagle CRJ-900 (never been done before; closest to this that was done before was a US Airways livery), and others, picking up, so hopefully weíll get those soon...

I've always wondered why they don't redo the Deltas. They ship out a new widebody or narrowbody by them almost every month. And they technically wouldn't be rereleases since those were Comair and right now they're pretty much all Endeavour. It's not like they wouldn't sell internationally either. Most people who like the airlines enough and flown on them would've been on an RJ. And even if not, they eventually sell to the point where people who want them would buy from international retailers just to get their hands on them.

I'd kill to get my hand on the older Canadian North models. They were on the old moulds so I feel they should be put onto the new AC mould so they can at least keep them on the most up to date mould

I collect mostly 70's and 80's, and increasingly 90's, classics. But I do want contemporary models for my hometown airport (ROC) and representatives of major new types and liveries of today.

Which means, I too buy Gemini's regional jet models. I really appreciate their doing the various United, Delta, and American regional jet models that populate my Rochester section. I too am glad to see new models produced and refuse to pay idiotic prices on eBay. If people showed more discipline, we'd all benefit with lower prices.

That said, likely nothing for me this month. Volaris is a "seen" for me so may consider. Would like to see classic 1980's-90s USA MD-80 series aircraft.

Jim

This is the American Eagle CRJ-900 that I've flown on 2 years ago, I wouldn't mind this one produced.
