I know right... it’s been around for ages. I’m not sure if I’ll get it as I’m trying to be strict about what I buy . However the aeroclassics a330 mould is supposed to be one of the better ones right? Albeit antennae.

I’m liking the TWA 762. May have to get that to go with my DC93.

LACSA, Aviateca and Air Bahama for me!

Really happy about the LACSA DC6. As a young boy, I flew GCM-MIA-GCM several times on TI-1018C and sister ship TI-1017C back in the 60's.

The Varig 742 in 1980 delivery c/s is an awesome release. Where are the CAAC & China Southwest TU-154's? They're missing from the flyer. A really diverse set of releases this month.

Europe is always a week or so behind the USA with new AC releases being listed on retailer sites usually. ARD in the UK and Aviation Megastore in Holland are two that always stock the lastest Aeroclassics but the availability has been extremely limited for certain models, and shipments have been delayed due to Covid, so it hasn't been easy of late for collectors in Europe sadly.

These were made primarily for the Chinese market. A few got to the US for sale.

The TU-154s weren't made for or by Aeroclassics, which is why they aren't on the list.

I thought they might be. Yes I saw them up on Jet Collector.

Well then Jet Collector erroneously has them up as Aeroclassics. So these are on the Phoenix mould?

Got the VARIG 747 and Air Bahama DC-8. If I had enough space and funds I would have got the TWA ( love the liveries and history this airline had) as well.

The Zimbabwe was on my list, but why does the release have grey engine cowls? The real deal like most 707s had them bare until it was hushed.

Pictures of Z-WKV with grey engine cowlings imply that this is the later colour scheme after the plane had been eqipped with hushkits. I don't mind, especially not in 1/400. The difference is rather subtle.

Adrian likes this.

I was still working on my reply. I see what you mean but as I said the difference is subtle in 1/400.

If that's the case, it's interesting to see the return of this mould. The last AC release from it was in 2007 (according to DiMA database)

Well that one went over my head! Hope I haven't hurt your feelings This answers all my questions, and the usual very informative article, thank you. Despite being an old mould it's great to see it fixed up again. I'd definitely pick up a Malev example if that ever comes to pass.

Yeah that seems to be a regular issue at the moment. The retailers don't follow instructions and Aeroclassics aren't organised enough to actually enable people to get the models efficiently.

At the prices they’re asking, might as well wait anyways

I guess some people's raison d'etre is just to pull out a magnifying glass, and hunt for mistakes on a model; must give them a real hard-on to find something which the naked eye can't see!

Are supposed to see a barely visible cargo door line?

I'm typically fine with cargo door lines missing, those never bothered me. They usually end up being too thick in 1/400 anyway.

Of course one can argue that 200R looks close enough to 200B. Go far away enough and nothing in 400 scale is legible anyway... It doesn't make me feel particularly happy to spot errors, and I don't think anyone on this forum actually feels that way when they spot something like that. I won't point fingers since everyone makes mistakes from time to time, but it's a slippery slope if these are the standards that collectors are supposed to turn a blind eye to and be content with... I'm definitely looking forward to collecting Roeings, Rritish Airways, and Riman Rangladesh models!

Happy collecting!

See the positive side: with a magnifying glass one can only spot those little details while the obvious issues remain unseen.

You are comparing a letter a fraction of the size to the airline title? At 55 and failing eyesight, I couldn't careless of the R or B. The model is still beautiful and I bought it. If you are examining the models with a magnifying glass, you're in the wrong hobby.

I hope everyone realises that the 'Flyer' list at the start of this threat shows 'doctored' photos of the actual aircraft and not of the models, which may differ slightly? Once we see pics of the actual models, then we can comment.

The missing B.707s still needed to be done in 1/400: Uganda Airlines, Luxair,

DC-8s still needed to be done in 1/400: UAT, Iberia ('80s scheme), Air Ceylon, Air Spain, Seaboard World (-63CF)

Now really?
Pics have been on ebay for quite a while now.
