VH -EBN has been registered to both a 747 and A330.

Seems to be pretty common. For example, look at the older AC Qantas 747 VH-EBR release. That registration used to be with Qantas, then used with JetStar on an A330, and now that plane is back in the Qantas fleet under the same reg. I think once that specific plane is retired or re-registered, it frees up that reg for another aircraft.

In Australia, they kind of have to recycle old regos, because of the 3 letter format they are in, (unlike in the USA where they have millions of different rego options).
There's Rescue helicopters flying around (Augusta Westwinds) VH-TJE ect with ex Qantas 737-400 regos, which until recently, still had the 737-400 picture on FR24.

He regularly posts models before official AC announcements, but also seems to have early access to other manufacturer releases.

One of the big time Hong Kong scalpers - in bed with Virginfans - they have some gems, although you'll pay through the nose. Virginfans seems to have disappeared from the scene however. Doug

I always wondered what happened to Virginfans, I bought many of my Aeroclassics models from him, for $50 each with free S+H, the TAA and Ansett 721's I bought are worth a fortune now.

In response to a similar post back in February 2020, Andrew Klein replied "Virginfans is alive and well; we speak often. That's all you need know."

Varig 747 ordered. It's represented in original 1980 delivery condition, so fits the criteria perfectly and fills a gap in my collection. This was the one airline missing from my 747 classic lineup; great release. Interesting to see that the TU-154 mould is alive again! Lots of variety this month.

Yeah the South American airlines don't interest me that much, but couldn't pass up only the second Air Niugini 1:400 model ever.

Hope they make the A310s in the eurowhite color with the bird on the tail.

It was released in 2007. Part of the "Following Captain Cook" series of 6 models. Finally tracked this and the TAA example down this year, tough ones to find that's for sure.

I wonder how many were made? 100 or so? This is one release that could have probably used double that imo. The 1st one goes for an average of $160 on the secondary market. Sometimes more.

This definitely needed a few more going by how fast this has sold out already. I reckon it's somewhere between 100-150 pieces. All these 747's are going to be very limited though, because from what I understand, these are being produced from a limited number of blanks acquired from JC.

The first Varig 742 was that AdamJets exclusive produced way back in 2005, PP-VNA, produced at a quoted figure of only 240. PP-VNB will definitely be way less than that, I'm sure. This new release also differs in detail not only in the registration, but in that the engine nacelles are bare metal/silver rather than pale grey, and it sports the full red "Boeing 747-200B" legend at the rear, rather than "Boeing 747-200", details of which date the earlier PP-VNA release to early 1990's condition rather than original early '80's delivery condition.

Quite ironic given my earlier reference to this detail! That's how it goes in 1/400. I'm still looking forward to my copy, though.

Approx. 200 pcs were made. This model still hasn't arrived in Europe or UK. There will be more than enough to go around.

That's great to know, thanks. Yes, I know that UK/Europe always get their allocation a little later usually. I'm sure many over here are excited about this release. It's a major "holy grail", such a classic.

Virginfans got a shop called AIRBUS MODELS on Hong Kong island ... spend several times in his shop ( 2 large windows displaying many models some with dust ) not much room inside because stockpile of models... a few blocks around the corner he got an amazing stockroom ! I believe the shop is closed some yeras ago.. maybe someone can confirm .. but WESTMAINTOYS is still around in HKG and definitely a place to visit and spend your $$

I like it. Looks great.

Hopefully a Niugini 310 one day.

Would also love to see their Fokkers

Ordered that beautiful Air Zimbabwe 707 from the US (JetCollector), will probably get stung £18 by UK Customs but it is the only way to guarantee it here in the UK - order from abroad.

ARD say "Not available" and AirSpotters do not list it.

That's only because their shipment hasn't arrived yet! Patience is the word!

For any UK or EU collectors that missed out on the Varig, LHS has listed them, probably the last chance to get it at retail

I know Adrian, but ARD usually allow you to pre-order.

I guess the fact that few of those pre-orders come to fruition may have led to a change in the way they allow orders to be made?

I was lucky enough to get the Varig and the Air Zimbabwe. In the mean time it looks like The Varig got all sold out, the Air Zimbabwe is still available as of now....
