Default Aeroclassics British Airways DC-10 G-NIUK

One of the September 2020 Aeroclassics I was glad to snag up. The World’s Biggest Offer logo. Rare piece.

A pity so few were made and for a lot of people it was a sell out whilst they were still sleeping in their beds in timezones ahead of North America. Mind you on the other hand, I've just got my order in for the new Phoenix 772 in Landor scheme.

ARD got a healthy shipment of these. Hopefully enough for UK collectors.

Excellent, so rumours of "sold out" were something of an exaggeration then ? Ordered now, thanks for the heads up !

Thanks so much for the update. I emailed ARD last week when the model was announced. They replied saying they were expecting a delivery in about a week or two but would not allow me to pre order. I guess ARD don't know how many units to expect of limited releases so don't take orders till they have the stock.
Not surprisingly I hit the order button as soon as I read this post!
Landor Hope & Glory!!!!

Ordered this morning.
But at nearly the cost of what a 1/200 DC10 used to be?
I think there is only a 737-200 and 747 missing with these titles?

Yep, even with ARD discount, not cheap. And of course as we know, ordering is no guarantee of receiving one either.

£49.46 plus £4.90 UK shipping. ARD club affords you 10% off the pre-shipping total.

as I have mentioned before, you can thank huge increases in FREIGHT charges for that! this hobby is going to get very expensive! if it wasn't enough already.

Mine arrived just now from ARD. Nearly 60 quid. Ouch
Nice tampo and like the separately packed nosewheel.
Will post pics this weekend.
And note from my ebay packing experiences in 1/200 thread
ARD sending a 60quid model in a bit of folded cardboard doesn't cut it
Fortunely no damage to model or box.

Aviaction,
Lovely little collection there. Who is the A320-100 model by? Come to think of it who is the B767 by too? I have the B757 by NG models.
I have a B737-200 with those titles by it's by IF200.

Nice quad of models there! Maybe there's a BA expert on this forum that knows why the placements of the Statue of Liberty and Eiffel Tower(?) are reversed on the 757. Deliberate or accident?

A320 is an AeroClassics club model from way back when. And the B767 is by Big Bird 400 from even more way back when.

From pictures on the internet it did seem to vary. 757 is correct both sides.

Sorry, I meant why were the logos switched on the real aircraft? Yes, the models are all correct.

Deliberate as far as I know, as an attempt to show the journey from both ends.

The NG 757 was sold at one of the London shows as an exclusive. I have one thanks to my good friend Alex. I believe it also came with some cool collector card. It's definitely one of my favourite liveries, and I have an extra GeminiJets Landor G-CIVI release sitting back at home which I did think about giving the "Worlds biggest offer" decal but I believe BA only had the decal on some very early G-BNLx 747-400

Found this image in a British Airways book showing starboard side of G-BNLE. Fingers crossed we see more wide-bodied Landor soon. I am lucky to have all the BigBird Landor Jumbos but I’m pretty sure some re releases wouldn’t stay on the shelves for long.

It was the Gatwick show in April 2019 wasn't it ? I got all three available Landor 757 options then snapped the nose gear off one (poppy) in my travel bag on the flight back to Glasgow.

Has anyone purchased the new Phoenix BA Landor 777-200 lately? I feel that the engines are not true to size and they are pointing to much upward..

Phoenix have real issues attaching the engines of their 777s properly. They often seem to come either pointing at the ground or sky. I am tempted by this model as well.

@ Big Al, it looks good but i see you've got the early release BA Landor DC-10 also in the background in your hangar..

That's the Apollo version, the least impressive of all the choices I have of this model which are Aeroclassics (x2), Gemini Jets and Apollo. The Apollo may now be leaving the hangar for some extended ground time at Attic Airport's storage facility...

Nice pic.

Just wish Aeroclassics would use more realistic wheels and ty(i)res in keeping with other improvements.
Only thing that lets this model down.

It is often hard to tell from photos, but would I be right in saying that this is in the lighter grey as more recently used by Aeroclassics?

It looks correct this time, unlike their previous 'brownish' Landor grey.

Difficult to tell from the pics but when all four were together the DC10 looks more brown than the other 3.

I'll take a pic with the two Aeroclassics editions, Gemini and Apollo all together, whenever I get five minutes later today.

Landor Livery is special. It deserves a collection itself. I already started mine.
