Swissair, TAP, and United for me. Love seeing 70's classics. Hoping we see a DC-10 in this Swissair livery, too!

Same lot for me this month. Very nice round of retro releases yet again. Interesting to see the delivery c/s for Swissair & TAP, AK is starting at the beginning. HB-IGB will compliment HB-IGA, the earlier 2006 release, whereas the TAP delivery c/s 747 is a first in 1:400 on this BB400 mould (just realised Gemini did one way back in 2002 as an exclusive). Being CS-TJB, I'm hoping CS-TJA is reserved for the later TAP livery in a subsequent release, along with the chocolate stripe Swissair c/s as well Good to see these with polished bellies, too!

Same here. Came back from work late at night, saw the announcement, and the BA is already sold out.

Yummm, TAP and Swissair for me.
Will these be the same as the Iran Air EP-IAI and SAA 742 releases? (same box sets/units ect)
Asking because I hope the retailer I usually obtain these from stocks them in and won't run out too quickly.

My frustration every month ever since the changes. Models sell out by Aeroclassics Direct within 24 hours. I've missed out on several new releases, only to end up paying a premium for them on eBay, if they can be found. Still, I'm very happy with this months releases, ordered United, Alaska, Aerolineas Argentinas, Delta and Air Transat.

Frustrating isn''t when models are sold out before most us mere mortals even know what's been released. Another reason why I rarely even bother with AC releases anymore.

Unreal. Half of what I would have ordered is already gone... For me, this means no order at all. The past few months have been outstanding for AC. Just wish I was able to have more than 24 hours to secure all the airframes released in one order. Glad for AC though, seems skating on razor thin margins and taking advantage of supply and demand economics is really working out.

...to list on ebay? Most of them have outlets on there, some are selling at regular retail or close to it, while others will put up certain desireable "holy grail" releases on auction or extortionate "buy it now" prices, these being held back from stock available on their main retail website, making them even more limited and harder to get (recent PIA DC-10 is a good example of this).

Seems like most AeroClassics models are extremely limited releases these days. Literally, if you're not ready to pounce within hours of the announcement, you miss out on the popular stuff. Or are there more in storage waiting for customers to push their retailers to order more? Like someone else mentioned above, I've got no order this month too. And it's not because there's nothing that I want. Yes, already checked the usual retailers. Is Buchair no longer an AeroClassics retailer? I didn't see any new releases on their site. Oh well, not making enough copies makes everyone lose out - manufacturer, retailers, and buyers.

I just wished that they would limit the release to one per household for the first 24hrs. That way everyone who wants say a BA DC10 could get one and not get shafted on eBay.

They do. Any duplicate orders were cut and cancelled. It's just not written in the fine print.

BuchairUSA, AC's very first dealer, obviously hasn't listed them yet. Their shipment is still enroute, and being that this is the LABOR DAY long weekend in Canada and USA, I'd expect more models to appear on various sites next Tuesday or Wednesday.

Happy Labor Day!!

Is that just because they don't have the amount of base units to create anymore or is it to duck under licensing issues? Be interesting to know because usually AC say small runs are down to demand, but they must've known less than a 100 units of a special livery in Landor would highly unlikely satisfy demand. All very frustrating and kinda another nail in coffin for me and this hobby.

With the UA and Alaska 727s released, I'm surprised this one wasn't in the mix.

Where are those announced? The old site used to have an easy to find link, but I haven't a clue as to where one can find the club models announced on that site now. Maybe only visible to club members?

Swissair 747-200. Beautiful color. But please handle more carefully in the factory--notice small nick in cheatline paint. There's some underneath behind the fuselage landing gear, too.

Nice. I'm still waiting on mine. Unfortunately they sent me the wrong model. By the way, Aeroclassics should have at least 1 more BA DC-10-30 soon as they sent me one by mistake...

I think the inevitable inadvertant outcome of the reduced releases is that certain collectors will tend to get their orders, and others don't.

Inevitably, shops are going to favour those who order most, even if you get your order in early.

I probably fall into the latter category, so that is why I have been unable to get any of my last 3 Aeroclassics orders, nor the Panda 134.

Small margins n' all that for ACs, but it seems to be making them pretty-much unobtainable to some of the collectorate unless we are prepared to pay Ebay prices, which I am not.

I'm not giving up my beautiful collection ever, but guess I'm on the verge of giving up ordering certain stuff as its futile.

Not sure if that question is for me, but I am not after BA, I really wanted the Surinam Airways/KLM SDC-8.

The one with Dutch registration went fast. The other N Registered version is available still on Aeroclassicsdirect.com.
