Default JC Wings 747-400 Flaps Down

JC Wings is nearing the completion of its new 747-400 Flaps Down model.

Yesterday Airlines last reported in 2018 https://www.yesterdaysairlines.com/m...d-announcement of the mould's first stages of testing. The mould has now reached its final stages and will begin production soon, with the first release to be a China Airlines 747-400!

Photos will be attached at the end of the final product, and more photos will follow in the coming weeks. Early previews shown on JC Wing's new Instagram shows that the model might now have a foam packaging similar to AV400's A330, and NG Models.

The cradle design is finally gone! With the 2 different wing slot inserts, this gives JC Wings, (And possibly Gemini Jets) a new 747-400 with flaps up/down option, even a 747-400D in flaps up/down option, and even a 747-300!

What liveries would you like to see on the 747-400?

Would be great if they show a nose shot! That's one part they royally mucked up with their 748s. I hope the long wait is a result of fine tuning. This is sure to be one of the best sellers to come in a while, and with endless liveries to pump out to replace older versions. Even looks as though they have developed a PW engine for earlier 744s. Cant wait!

Probably pumping these out earlier than they wanted after feeling the heat from NG.

I will request additional photos right now. I am expected to get my hands on a sample as well But from what was seen in Richard's blog from 2018, JC Wings is nothing like Phoenix and wouldn't release such a nose like the abomination Phoenix has. I will also direct their new social media team to DAC for future input!

JC Wings usually release asian airlines on a regular basis. So I think BA, LH, QF or KLM would be an absolute exception. I guess they will release the stuff they´ve already released but with a new mould now...

I´d like to see the Cargolux Retro flaps down.

Glad to see this tooling is finally getting there. I'm sure there's plenty interest and sentiment around the 744 just now, given the huge and largely unexpected swathes of retirements of the type from the world's airlines.

To that end I've been chasing 744's on eBay lately trying to get a mini collection of those still in service (a list getting smaller by the week). So I'd like a Wamos version, as it's still just about in service and not been done yet. The popular choices of various livery BA, Virgin Atlantic, KLM would be good too, as well as a Boeing house colours ER and maybe the original Northwest scheme too. Plenty of options out there. .

Assume GJ will get to use this tooling too? Battleship and Blue Tulip Uniteds are absolute musts! JC hopefully will release Thai Airways in the 1990s livery and the usual "Not Available" releases.

I wonder how JC's new mould will compare to the ANA Official Precision models that were Japanese market only... It would make sense and it looks like the flaps and slats are based on the scaled-down versions of their 1/200 model?

I would love to see many rare 747-400s such as the SAA delivery colors.

But right now I can most desire an upgrade of some of my current Gemini Models in British Airways, Air India, Virgin Atlantic, Asiana, Thai and KLM (-400M) models.

Don’t care much for the landing configuration wings but the details on the sample and wing joints look good. Proportions as well. I’d love to see how they compare to NGs nose though, seems like their competitors have it just right on their upcoming SP model.

Unconfirmed news I am hearing is GeminiJets is currently not interested in the flaps down variant, and if the new 747 Mould gets a flaps up version, hopefully Gemini uses that version. Help us out Crownvic, get Gemini to use this mould or allow JC to release some of the cooler stuff on this mould. I'd be sick and tired of every CX reg appearing on the 747 like it did with the 777.

Hopefully. Because there are signs a tsunami of 747s will be coming. Phoenix is trying to entice collectors with their inferior 747s. They know. I’m sure Gemini has also pondered what this is gonna mean for them.

If they’re not gonna use this new (hopefully good) mold, and/or allow JC to take over the market before NG unleashes the wave of releases they’ll have missed most customers à la A330 vs 787

It could then be down to NGs willingness to swipe the market if there are no competent competitors.

If this model is like all JC models, flaps will be full metal in just curious how they keep it from being tail heavy if flaps are metal. Aren’t the ANA ones plastic? Those definitely were nice though. All jc needs is a 747-400D set of wings in any flap settings and they’ve replicated it

... I would appreciate a lot any Lufthansa, especially combis and the Condor 747-400.

I also would love to see an Air Atlanta Iclandic (Magma) or a Jade Cargo as well as an Air China livery.

United in the previous livery, Delta and Air India or Thai are classics!

Thanks and best regards,

Jan

I hate to be a pessimist but it is almost like you guys don't pay attention to what JC releases month in month out. The first release is CI, which gives you a likely suggestion of how releases will play out. I suggest it looks like this:

Very Likely: CI, CX, NH, JL, CA, SQ, EVA (mostly in orange boxes)
Likely: TG, GA
Possible: MH, BA, KL, QF, House Clrs
Not likely: Everything else!

I hope I'm wrong but unless Gemini get onboard with this, which I have been told they aren't going to, I wouldn't hold out for lots of releases or a huge non-Asian variety.

Then GJ will go, take the mould, the kids will think they’re revolutionary, sell it for a higher price, and make popular models which will sell well. I pretty much agree with you about jc releases, (quite like their first release), hope they release some non Asian models.

JC wings' recent releases have had a good amount of variety lately.
Their releases of Iran Aseman A343, Astral Aviation 74F, Maleth Aero A346, Ansett/SQ hybrid 744 and other less known exotic operators tells me anything is possible.
Speaking of their recent Bouraq MD80, I hope to see a Compass MD-80 released one day.

Very nice mould! Now, a monthly release like NG, Gemini or Phoenix would be nice... I don´t want to wait until 06/2021 before those are available..
mark4323 and ETIHAD like this.

Apparently it was the Blue Box mould, although some people suggested it "may" be the old Big Bird mould but I think that rumour was put to bed by Mr Klein ? 5 Stars itself was a rebranded Starjets 500 with a few additional 400 scale releases between around 2006-09. The database here shows a selection of 747-200 and 400 series plus A380 moulds
