Default A321 mould

Hi there,
What are people's thoughts on which is the best A321 1/400 mould for the BA A321? From looking at pictures, I think the Aeroclassics mould (https://www.diecastmodelaircraft.com/db/model/23665) looks slightly better than the Gemini one (https://www.diecastmodelaircraft.com/db/model/69193) but would welcome people's opinions and views.

The Aeroclassics certainly raised the bar for the A321 (and A319/20) when it first appeared and has for several years been the best available. For me though it has become slightly outdated with the older gears and lack of antenna. Yes we know how AK loathes antenna, and his relationship with the newer mould manufacturers isn't ideal, but for my money the best A321 available at the moment is the Panda or NG Models edition(s).
Let's be having, the British Airways/British, Negus & Negus BAC 1-11-500 in 1:400 please !

PandaModels released a British Airways A321neo, and it is by far the best rendition of the A321 in 1:400 along with HYJL / NG (which haven't released a BA example yet).

The GeminiJets mould has overly large engines and a thick fuselage. The Aeroclassics mould is an improvement but lacks printed detail, antenna and detailed landing gear. The Aeroclassics A321neo has an incorrect wing sweep angle; their A321 ceos don't have this issue thankfully.

Quite pleased with Aeroclassics mould of the A319/320/321 series. Haven’t ordered the NG Airbii yet.

Panda did a BA A321neo, here my pic. It’s an stunning model, really really well done and replicated. In my opinion they have the best A321neo mould like NG, the only downsize of NG are the engines (on the neo). An interesting fact about panda is that they have a different mould for the CFM and the PW (the small bump on the CFM is the only change).

Answering this question is dependent on what version of the A321 you are talking about. I have this in line for a detailed review in the coming months.

If your A321 has Sharklets then you need to look at the wing as an A321 does NOT have the same wing as an A320 and yet both Aeroclassics and Phoenix just reuse the A320 wing.

Basically without having done the numbers the best mould is the HYJLwings / NG Models or the Panda Models versions. Both use the correct wing all the time and have the extra detailing and better undercarriage.

Agree that NG Model has the best mould on the A321ceo/neo.

The only drawback of the NG A320/A321 mould is the engine fan blades.

It doesn’t resemble the real engine fan blades of CFM International Leap-1A32 (on the most right pic) or the Pratt & Whitney PW1133G-JM geared turbofan engine.

Those gimmicks of fan blade engines (which look nothing like the real thing) and antennas (which are completely out of scale) are to attract a new breed of unsophisticated collector to the market. AeroClassics will never go down the road of gimmicks at the expense of accuracy.

I agree about the fanblades point. They often don't represent the direction of spin of the engine correctly either (RR engines spin clockwise as viewed from the front, the rest anti-clockwise). The point being, if you're going to do fanblades, get them the right size and orientation.

I still disagree about antennae, the ones I've seen are accurately to scale, but there you go.
