Yes. Unfortunately. Try jetcollector.com might have some Thai left.

As of right now, JetCollector is out of PIA but still has two different Thai A300's and the Air Canada 727-100.

I preordered a PIA DC-10 and the Air Canada 727-100 some hours ago. Very happy to see the 727-100 returning!

An Air Siam DC-10 could be an idea as a follow up to the A300, they only had 1 from new, but could have 2 versions, one with "Thailand's First DC-10" on #2 intake.

Gemini released one back in 2006.

Would be nice to have it again on the Aeroclassics mould, though!

Wasn’t the Air Siam a Gemini Select Model? If memory serves me correctly.

I just ordered the Air Canada B727.

I'm hoping someone here can help me understand what the situation is with AeroClassics models. Why is it that some models are available via JetCollector but not AeroClassicsdirect? Were it not for BWI-ROCman's post above, I doubt I would have been able to order the Air Canada B727. I was scouring Aeroclassicsdirect yesterday to no avail. I had the same experience with the VIASA DC9 and VARIG B737 releases a few months ago and I'm still looking for the VIASA at a reasonable price.

+1

You would think they would have more than other shops since it’s from the main company

Aeroclassics produces smaller quantities now to ensure that there is no over production...ie unsold inventory that lingers for years on shelves. There is a lot of diecast being produced by all companies, a lot of which doesn’t sell well.

Romeomike--I'm not sure that anyone fully understands the situation with AC models. I'm in the USA, so what I do, is look at several USA retailers. So I look at AeroClassics Direct, JetCollector, eztoys, Jetway Models. You might find a model at one and not others.

There is still one box on the way to the warehouse with some missing Air Canada 727s. Not all were received on time. Website does not list items physically not present. Unlike some unscrupulous entities, we won't take your money unless we have it in physical stock.

There’s an Air Canada Cargo 727 on eBay. There’s also Buchair.com for Aeroclassics models.

These were announced yesterday. It shouldn't be like a lottery trying to get what you want. I don't want to order from multiple sellers because it is a massive hassle and the postage costs don't stack up. Aeroclassicsdirect needs to carry sensible stock levels. Currently they are carrying less than Waffle carried alone in the past. It is annoying and I have already moaned to AK about it. It is one thing not to want to carry excess stock but another to carry so little that your core buyers can't even get the models.

The only AeroClassics you'll find at Jetway are a couple of pre-owned models and a handful of dirt cheap sale models. Jetway joined Waffle, Airplane Replicas, Just Plane Fun and some others I'm sure in the ex-AeroClassics retailer club.

If I'm not mistaken, the list of U.S. retailers are AeroClassics Direct, JetCollector, EzToys, and Buchair.

Does anyone know the status of the Flying Mule? Seems they have some fairly recent AeroClassics, but I don't see anything from at least the last couple of months.

Regarding Flying Mule, I'm now guessing they are a current AeroClassics retailer. Their site's search function is very quirky though.

Let's take last month's Air France FH-227.

If you type Air France, you get zero search results.

If you type France, you get a whole slew of results.

If you type AeroClassics Air France, you get zero results.

If you type AeroClassics France, you get all the AeroClassics Air France listed.

If you type Air France FH-227, you get zero results.

If you type France FH-227, you get exactly what you are looking for.

No, I did not find any of July's releases there though.

Does anyone know what has happened to the Surinam SDC-8s?

Nice selection this month, great to see the 727-100 back, endless options.

I agree, Aeroclassics direct probably would have gotten a few hundred of my USDs if they had everything they released in stock. No way I'm going to nickel and dime myself to get 4-5 models from two or three distributors. Too bad...

My first guess would be that they were just very limited small batch. Not sure though, wouldn't surprise me if more popped up here and there.

They have not been released yet. A few managed to leak out, but the bulk are still in China.

As for the quantities produced, they are based on realistic demand. With so many other diecast models flooding the market every month, some good, some garbage, and with the downturn of the worldwide economy thanks to China Coronavirus, AeroClassics is being responsible so as not to over produce, or release too many models at once.

Once the dust settles, I can assure you that there will still be plenty of everything to go around. There were 600 pcs of Thai A300 produced, and considering the normal production runs are between 150 to 200 pcs, everyone who wants a Thai A300 will be able to get a Thai A300. Same goes for the Air Siam A300, there were close to 500 pcs made.

The bulk of the AC 727 as mentioned earlier, are still stuck in transit but should be available again mid week.
There were more than 150pcs of PIA DC-10 produced, so I find it hard to believe that they're all gone! Dealers in Europe haven't even received them yet!!
Again, due to China Coronavirus and the effects it's had on worldwide shipping, nothing moves quickly, or cheaply!!

Have a great day!!

The PIA DC-10s are all gone. No one has them. They have become a rare collectors item within 24 hours. They will now turn up on eBay for $1,000 each.

All Thai A300s are pre-sold out. I can't find them anywhere. eBay black marketeers will enjoy this. They should thank Andrew Klein.

No those are the previous releases. The new ones have all gone. Jet Collector had the last few remaining but someone I know and who is a member of this forum has snapped the last remaining ones.

As previously mentioned, the models have not arrived in Europe yet!! I wouldn't panic!

There’s one of the new PIA DC-10’s here (AP-AXE). On an open bid, of course!

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/133461323442

150-200 or so pieces (or thereabouts as indicated) is quite a low number, especially for a release split into 3 different registrations; this livery has also never been done before on a DC-10 in 1:400. Given how quickly it has been snapped up, it’s obviously a “holy grail” release for many, given the airframe it’s on. They literally went in a matter of hours from Jet Collector & Ezytoys, and they didn’t even make it onto Aeroclassics Direct and some other retailers’ sites (still on the way, maybe??). The Thai A300 got quite a generous allocation by comparison, going by the quantities that Andrew mentioned above; despite being previously released (different registrations and pale grey painted engine cowlings are the variations between them, I know). Air Siam also had a generous quantity made - and that airline wasn’t around for long, and they only had that A300 leased for 1 year! I understand the economics involved in producing these models - the more you cast, the cheaper the run gets. But, will you sell them all? Not an easy balance to achieve each month. The A300’s got the more generous run this time, so the odd’s on must be that those will perform better than the poor old DC-10! Given the limited run for the PIA, I wouldn’t expect them to hang around for long in Europe. I don’t suppose there’ll be much chance of a restock on them, either? I appreciate that times are tough and depressing at the moment. It’s not easy getting the quantities right every time. I know the retro stuff is niche, but I would have thought that PIA would be a bit more mainstream than some of the others. It’s sad that a particular model that would have lifted many people’s spirits had to be made in much lower numbers, and consequently, quite a few collectors have missed out.

My rotten luck has no limits. I made the same DC-10s on a perfect Inflight 200 mould in 1:200 scale. The models were made with great accuracy. I made a heavy loss on those models and some 60 models had to be thrown away at almost zero prices. The same model in the same livery gets released and is an instant sell out. As a collector I cannot get my hands on one. I
very sad, frustrated and depressed.

Gee, so sorry to hear. You must have been gutted by the loss. That’s crazy. So ironic! I am aware that Andrew of Aeroclassics has sustained many losses himself, getting out the niche releases that many have wanted. That’s true dedication for you. We as collectors have to understand that this really is a pretty niche corner of the market that we are in, especially with the retro stuff, and it’s going to be a bitter pill to swallow sometimes. I hope that you have a change in fortunes and one of these turns up for you. At least you have a handsome 1:200 version to enjoy!

In defence of the manufacturers, it must sometimes be difficult to interpret the extent of surge-demand, and sometimes not. But that's life with everything.

Not saying some things couldnt be improved, but Aero Classics more than anyone else have provided me with so many potentially obscure personal Holy Grails. I've actually no idea what really sells well and what doesn't, but I just love my Ecuatoriana 707 for example, so am eternally grateful.

Same thoughts with the Surinam SDC-8, can't wait (hopefully) to get my hands on one, and again I expect it's potentially an obscure model with not too great sales potential. So again, its Aero Classics who predominantly deliver these.

But I do have sympatthy wth anyone unable to get popular in-demand models such as the Thai A300 and PIA DC-10. But again, as Andrew says, hopefully they are on their way via distribution to retailers.

Yes indeed - just spotted that one! Very nice it is too. Not many of those left either - this really has turned out to be one of those bumper "holy grail" months!

From that eBay photo, it looks like the PIA DC-10 has the wrong shade of green by quite a distance. It looks extremely dark, closer towards black than green. The same livery had the perfect shade of green in the AeroClassics PIA B747-200 (AP-AYV and AP-BAK). I don’t know why Andrew Klein and his team didn’t just use the same colour charts and pantones etc. this DC-10. How dark this DC-10 is can be seen from the eBay auction photos which contain the model and the real aircraft.

I woudnt necessarily rely on an Ebay photo to provide the right colouration, as it does look wrong on there.

Hey Andrew, I'm curious, will you ever do the DC8 super 70's?

I still wonder when we will see the 1/200 727s again.

It does look dark but you can never rely on photos to gauge the actual colour. The blue on the Air Siam A300 looked way too bright on one retailer’s photo, but on another, the shade looked spot on! I have AP-AYV & AP-BAK, both superb releases, and agree that the shade of green used on those was perfect. I am aware that there has been a variance in the shades between some models of the same airline, though, as often noted by other members here, many times! Perhaps the original artwork isn’t always available? Or the paint batch used doesn’t truly match the original pantone reference? I don’t know. I also have the Aeroclassics PIA A300 from 2014 vintage. I think the green used on those was identical to the previous 747s.
