Default 777 albatros

hi all,

just found on aviationmegastore interesting model 1/400 b777 Eva in old Ribbon livery listed as "Albatros Model". I did pre-order since I love this one. Just curious which manufacturer it can be. Assuming and hopping for JC with their great mould. Any idea if I am correct? (do not want to get any 777 with cradle mould and out of current high details standards).

thank you for comments and have a great weekend.

I’ve investigated a bit, and seems like it’s JCW. The 787 of EVA from Albatros looks like the JCW mould, so I guess it will be that. When you receive it, it’d be nice if you take some photos!

Hi Vitek

Was told that it would be the AV400 mould, which seems to be a fine mould as well.
I am looking forward to that particular model too.

I am pretty certain that it is the JC Wings mould - certainly Albatros have used that before. However AV400 have announced the ribbon scheme so ?

hi, thank you everyone for your answer. I also thought it would be most probably JC when seeing the b787 on the ebay. Anyhow both JC and AV400 would be very good option with no doubts. As said I did already preorder but put the order on hold for the while since I am waiting for new NG announcement and might add some bird if it will fit my criteria, on top as we all know….only god knows when JC will really release this one I am hoping soon...and I will that let it deliver and will post the pictures for your reference.

all the best

Albatros is a Taiwanese Brand with models created by JC Wings

They've had many releases which have never surfaced including an awesome 747-400. I've posted about them here before. They tend to focus on Taiwanese releases like China Airlines and Eva Air. Don't know if they branched into more airlines?

Not necessarily JC, as models using IF and Witty moulds were released as well.

The previous EVAs (787s, A330s, A321s) were on the JC mould, but the ribbon 777 this time will be the AV mould. ETA is this October/November but who knows

Their past releases were mainly CI, BR and the now defunct Transasia and Far Eastern Air Transport. They have a store in Taipei which is called "Taipei RBF", definitely worth a visit when in Taipei. You can also contact them via Facebook (Taipei RBF).

BTW, wondering which 747-400 were you referring to?

Oh Interesting news. Yes the folks at Taipei RBF were very nice to me on Facebook. Very knowledgeable people. I suspected they use other companies since they are not a model manufacturer but commission others to produce the models for them.

The China Airlines 747-400 they released a while back was made by JC Wings with the Boeing Hybrid livery. (There were 2 new China Airlines Cargo 747-400F releases, were these by Albatros too? It had a different name like Dream something)

Photos attached of the Albatros 747-400. This came from JC Wings Factory with very poor quality, and Taipei RBF said it was like a loss to them because many were produced low quality. I bought 2 from them and used one to make the other perfect. Wrong sized attenas, NO attenas, Misplaced Engines. You name it. In my photo, you see the engine is glued incorrectly. I did disassemble the model after I took the photos and repositioned it.

Aviation 400 has a very nice 777 mould. As good as JC imo. They look like little Inflights (1:200) but with a better nose shape. Nice big engines, good nose shape, cockpit windows and lots of details in the printing.

Those two are from Dream Air which is also an online store in Taiwan. Similar to Albatros, Dream Air also commission others to produce models for them. They also focused on Taiwanese airlines, but they did release some foreign ones, like the Star Alliance livery SQ/NH 77W, using the JC mould.

BTW, the two 747-400Fs are using the JC mould I believe.

Yes, I am looking at getting those 2 Dream Air. Will contact Taipei RBF. I want to replace the Phoenix China Airlines Cargo 747-400F with the 60 year logo.
