Very good, Gemini and Phoenix also announced their versions for August/September too.

It's not a bad mould, but I'd say it's behind NG, Aeroclassics and Panda for sure, and probably behind AV400's as well (I only have 1 of those and it's packed up right now). I like it marginally better than JC's, mainly because of the nose shape.

The Phoenix A330 is decent enough, and the AV400 one isn't great outside the MRTTs, but does have incorrectly sized horizontal stabs. All the A330 moulds are pretty good (the JC Wings/Gemini and AV400 are the weakest) so in this case I think you have to ask who has better printing. Phoenix has the weakest printing detail of all the major 1:400 manufacturers.

I don't have any of the other Av400 A330's but I did buy all 3 of their MRTT's and they are most detailed 1/400 models I have seen. Just an incredible amount of detail went into those models. I think it would be between NG and Av400 for Boris One.

This should hopefully pave the way for the MRTT's. Even though AV400 produced these and did an excellent job ( barring the oversized anti collision lights on top), I'll wait to hopefully get NG's version. AV400 are £50 upwards on that model which to me is the orange/red zone in model pricing limits for a 1/400 A330 and anyway most've them are virtually sold out!

Absolutely not! The market will be flooded with this, and I personally have zero interest in it.
The creation of these beauties puts me thru daily aggravation, between stupid workers in China, corrupt government in China, and now, the fallout from China Coronavirus. I should at least have some personal interest in things I create, to put myself thru the aggravation.

I hope you all enjoy your RAF A-330, whoever's version you end up buying!!

Tris, where are you seeing £50 + for av400 MRTTs? got mine from ARD about £45 posted max iirc. Airspotters were similar.

Can't wait for NG to release that one. I don't often go for military aircraft models but I do like that livery.

THANK YOU!! I have zero interest in this aircraft as well. But what aggravates me is when several manufacturers make the same-*** thing at the same-*** time! I understand the "first to market competitive advantage", but there's so many other things that need to be made! So little precious manufacturing resources should not be wasted all making the same thing.

But, I personally would like to see AeroClassics release heads of state type aircraft, WITH the stairs and long red carpet a la CC-150 a few years ago!

Here we go lads. For those not sure which Boris Force One to buy I've whipped up another video - this time looking at 5 of the 6 available A330-200 moulds and some thoughts on who is likely to do the best job:

If NG produce theirs to the equivalent level of antenna detail as the AV400, then no doubt it'll be the best. I'd happily accept the AV400 though if push comes to shove.

I may do the Gemini on this one. It’s something I’d love to have and their printing is typically decent even if their models are “some assembly required”
