The Lockness -500 mould is, I am sad to say, awful. All of the Lockness moulds should be retired without further ado.

I'm in agreement, it's such a disappointing shape overall. But that's been discussed already.

NG have said the BA Negus options on the L-1011-500 will be produced, it's just a question of waiting until they do.

I got the UAL and NW 757s. Just a question for NG....is there any chance you would consider making an ATA 757 and/or L1011 in the Palm Tree Livery?!

Ohhhh yes, I forgot to add some pictures! I would be thrilled to have either one....it was a company where I had once worked. Thank you so much for considering these NG!!

I will buy both of these as well - the 757 is a "flown on" example for me, and I'll pretty much buy any L-1011.

I have several from this group on the way. While we are suggesting things, I might also add these four. No Ethiopian 757 has ever been mass produced in 1/400 to my reconing.

Hope you'll address the hubs of the Tristar too. Some are flat and some are detailed?? Seems bizarre why it's not standard all around? Have mentioned this before on here and you said it would be addressed. Please can you fix this going forward!

The fact that several collectors seem to be on board (pun intended) with my suggestion of L-1011 House colours makes me happy. Thanks guys. It's a wonderful livery. NG, I hope it makes it to production.

I’d be in for a House Livery L-1011 too. The Air India -500 is looking awesome; indeed as Doug noted a few posts earlier, the #1 & #3 cowlings also appear to have been corrected, which is a very welcome tweak! The other very minor refinements to the wheel hubs, as suggested, would also be welcomed.

Following the heavy rain and "flood-like" conditions at Bangkok's Don Muang Airport in 2011, the L-1011 was damaged beyond repair and written off - just like many other commercial airliners that were on the apron at that time. Today, you can visit the "hull" of N388LS together with a former Orient That 747 at a place called "Chic Chic Market" located in the northeast of Thailand. Never been there, so I cannot tell anything first-hand.

The Lockheed house colours version would be a stunning winner.

I responded to a request and sent NG some detailed hi-res pictures of this aircraft last year. I assume it's still under consideration as a future release, but who knows for sure ?

Awfully looking model.

I remember that Princess Margaret christened G-BFCA at Lockheed‘s Palmdale facility. The name was added later - not sure but thinking it was somehow related to the „British“ titles era.

If that makes sense?

Hi.

I have taken notes on every flight since November 2011. It is very helpful if you want to collect what you flown on. It is also a nostalgic thing when you look at the long list...

A pitty I didn't do that from beginning. I have been flying a lot in my daily work (as a passenger).

The name was actually added whilst this aircraft still carried "British airways" titles, in the same year that she was delivered - 1979. That was the year that BA started naming some of the aircraft in their fleet, just before the change to "British" titles the following year. The other BA Dash -500 to carry a name whilst wearing "British airways" was G-BFCF, "Elizabeth of Glamis". All other -500s carried their names with "British" titles.

The "Advanced TriStar" was the prototype airframe with modifications used later on the -500. It was the only long body 1011 to receive the extended wingtips of the -500. It was scrapped alongside N306EA at Ardmore, OK. in the mid 80s.

Yep, and when they had the short lived "user group" back at the start, it was suggested they didn't do all the BA 757's in one go. Maybe they could do some more now ?

I found out British Airways christened its aircraft way before the "British" titles (i.e. Negus Mk. 2) era. This particular aircraft, L-1011-500 G-BFCA, made an appearance at the Farnborough Air Show in September 1980, just five months after delivery, with "Princess Margaret Rose" name on fuselage.

Conclusion: the above model represents a short era from flight testing to maybe one to three months after delivery.

Indeed you are correct, airfleets.net has the delivery date of G-BFCA logged as 13.04.1980 (took a while to arrive as this was the prototype aircraft) & G-BFCF was delivered on 02.05.1980 - both of these carried names with "British airways" titles. I believe they both received their names upon delivery to British airways - as this practice had already started in 1979.

I also wrote a very extensive thread on this subject here:

https://www.diecastaircraftforum.com...s-details.html

...where I began with the 747, going into considerable detail explaining the detail differences with the BA Negus & Landor era liveries, but then went on to provide a list of all known fleet names.

I have created a full list of names for both the Negus & Landor fleets (still in a work in progress) available as a PDF document for anyone that is interested.
