Default Holiday: A Euro 737-300 Wishlist

Time for April's wishlist. Holiday's in the sun or snow seem like an age ago at the moment but back when charter airlines were popular and the LCC revolution was just getting going the 737-300 was a major transporter of holidaymakers. Panda has the mould and I'd love them to start using it so click the link for some Euro-only suggestions:

I was looking for this one for a long time as well (I know, it's really Astraeus which is already on your list) until I got a great custom of it from modelmanGB on here.

I'd definitely pick up a few of the others you mentioned, even though I don't have the same memories of them, being based in the US. The Orion, Hispania, and Buzz ones would probably be my favorites.

I'd like that one too but I didn't include scheduled flag carriers in this list

Air Berlin has never been a hot seller in that livery.

Never one to miss an opportunity Denny. STRB was in 1/400, STRE in 1/200. Real pleasure to make them for you.

Great list Richard, most of those would be in my must buy list if they were ever produced.

The comparative enornomous variety of subjects waiting to be made and relative lack of use of a good quality 737-300 mould, is to me probably the biggest gap waiting to be filled in the 1:400 market. Maybe something for NG Model to take note of ?

My top ten from your list would be as follows:

1. Dan Air London
2. Monarch
3. Britannia
4. Viva Air
5. TEA (& TEA Italy)
6. Norway Airlines
7. Transavia
8. Inter European Airways
9. Air Europe
10. Debonair

Other very worthy Euro holidays 737-300 subjects that I would think would be very popular:

Aeropostale https://www.airliners.net/photo/L-Ae...SMvyBfXnLdw%3D
Air Atlantis https://www.airliners.net/photo/Air-...0B9H8t2A%3D%3D
Air Columbus https://www.airliners.net/photo/Air-...0B9Y8t2w%3D%3D
Air Malta https://www.airliners.net/photo/Air-...UD8aYt0A%3D%3D

I'd love to see a Jet2 733 in the old livery with the large "2" on the tail, a Jet2 Holidays 733 and a Channex 733

Good additions. I really should have added Lauda, Air Columbis and Atlantis in my list

Condor in grey and white/grey, Lufthansa o/c and viva air would be my favorites.

I further would appreciate the QC-Version of the 737-300 in old or new LH colors.

There was also one 737-300F of Lufthansa Cargo.

Thank You!

with best regards,
Jan

Nobody except Phoenix has a 737-300 mould with winglets - and their mould is poor.

Thanks for the suggestions. Keeping it in scope I have added only the following to the post:
Air Atlantis
Air Columbus
Lauda Air x2
Iceland Express
British World

I want to keep it as a good record as possible of Euro holiday carriers of the 80s/90s/00s.

I might do scheduled operator version soon and if I do will include JAT, LH, Air Malta etc.

Panda have a pretty good 733 mould if I'm not mistaken. I know it doesn't have winglets so you're correct that Phoenix has the only version to date. Would definitely go for a British Midland and Dan Air release. Definitely sure sellers.

Agree, a GO B733 is the first flight I've been able to retrospectively trackback to in my flight diary. Would love a model in one of the Go livery varieties

Yes those pointy nosed abominations have Phoenix written all over them.

I would suggest DBA (Deutsche BA). It isn't a LCC but a fedeer carrier

Its a real tragedy that AC lost access to the 733 mould (and the 737 and 738 moulds at that).

Have to think a decent proportion of these obscure, smaller or older liveries would have been made or would eventually get made. I have little faith in Panda doing many, if any, of these sadly.

Here are the 737-300s that I desperately want:

FlyGlobespan
Inter European Airways
Sabena (90s-2000s faded billboard)
Viva Air

Not only that, the winglets seem a bit too large. And I usually don't even care to look for imperfections.

British Midland in the 80's and 90's colours.
BMIbaby
There was also a few -300's in BA landor livery too.
Deutsche BA in the landor livery

Viva air would be nice, saw them at Heathrow for a time in the 90's.
A lot of others mentioned are also worthy; Air Europe, Dan air, Monarch...
However I'd also highlight Virgin Express too in their first livery.
