Default NG Model - 1:400 February 202 Release Photographs

All, to bring some much needed light in to today's dark World, NG Model have provided the following photographs of their latest 1:400 release. Photographs of the March 2020 release will be available early next month.

I assume shipping to the retailers will be dependent on air-freight availability given the current state of the aviation World.

31012 Caledonian Airways Lockheed L1011-385-1 G-BBAF

Isn't Hong Kong about to put a 14 day quarantine on goods again ?
I'm also hearing about global air freight demand going up by 400%.

The SAS A330-300 SE-REH looks a bit odd with the fuselage colour. Is it the light or is the fuselage really that sand ish colour? It just doesn't look correct, and should be more white/ grey. Btw, I see the SAS A330 every time I'm at EKCH, so I think I'm in someways correct?

I don't have much to go on other than comparative photos and other models, my gut says it's not right as well, but who knows until we see one up close.

I guess if they made the SAS A340 more grey, the 'silver' titles would disappear! I could never understand why SAS did this, as you can hardly read it on the real thing? Reminds me of when TWA changed their livery with 'hollow' titles which you could hardly see at a disance. Then they fillled them in. SAS need to modify their livery titles.

I would not trust these photos as accurate color representations. NG's release photos always tend to be oversaturated. In person they typically get colors spot on (not 100% of the time of course).

The detail on the 738 is just breathtaking considering its size.

My initial impression was the same. Something is not right with the colors. Will wait for additional photos once it is released to make a decision. Kind of makes me think of Saudia colors.

Agree with all on the SAS A340. Hopefully it’s just the lighting condition for the photos. But over all they all look great. Hopefully one day the will fix the L-1011 1&3 engines and the 737 nose gear is stretched out too far in these releases, they need to be shorter. Those are my only two nit picks and look forward to seeing in my collection

Hi.

Regarding the SAS SE-REH, me thinks it is the light when photo was taken. NG has always been very sharp regarding colors in my view.

The B737's looks very good. Have one Ryanair from NG and would like to see some SAS B737's in the future. Pre-ordered the A320 on approach.

United L1011 is definitely tempting, despite their short-lived service in those colors. I'll probably end up pulling the trigger on one, once they show up in-stock at the retailers.

I hadn't heard that Al.
But I screwed up - it's an earlier order that is on the way from HK.

Trying to ascertain the facts myself, but I read it was a possibility owing to further accumulations of virus cases.

Was the Qantas 100 787 meant to part of February?
I don’t recall them ever showing Qantas photos in these forums. They also didn’t announce them here on the February release announcement. I thought it might have something to do with licensing as I’ve heard Qantas can be strict on these things. Whatever it is I’m confident they’re in this months arrivals.

I think they were announced with the mini release for February so NG are likely still making them so they wont have photos yet.

I ordered mine back on February 5th so not the case. I remember I commented about them not being announced by NG but by retailers which I found odd. If anyone has any insight to this feel free to enlighten me.

Found these images on aviation megastore for anyone interested. Notice the missing tyre on the regular Qantas livery.

Prime Air 737-800. Notice the very finely printed plugged-window outlines.

Nice pics and looking good, Jim. That Saul Bass -500 is on it's way to me right now, although it will take as long as it takes due to the current situation, of course.

Taking the topic 90° of course... Did anybody see that Amazon just permanently withdrew their Prime Air fleet, ending competition with United Parcel Service and FedEx? Another casualty, Doug

You took that headline significantly out of context.

https://www.wsj.com/amp/articles/ama...ex-11586296112

They’re ending their 3rd party package delivery service, to focus on the surge of COVID-19 related orders and online shopping. Has nothing to do with the Prime Air fleet.
