Default NG please don't let standards slip!

So today I just received my Air Canada Tristar. As always I love my NG models, especially my Tristars! Anyway so I'm inspecting every nook and cranny of the model as you do and I'm taking in all the exceptionally fine detail that NG are putting into their models. Every panel line and service port etc are there! Brilliant job once again! Then I get to the landing gear! There I notice some of the grooves that go into the wheel hubs have been left out! What the nose gear has on the right, it's missing on the left and the same goes for the main under carriage!
So it's no big deal I hear some of you say ( in the shadows..lol!!), however,I look at it like this! 1) Why let that intricate detail slip when NG have pulled off every other detail magnificently? 2) Why is it reversed on both sides of the a/c?
Please NG, you've done an amazing job so far and despite the s*** that's going on in your country right now, if you churn out the models still, make sure you don't leave these important details out! Just my humble opinion atm! Otherwise cracking job!!

My Air Canada arrived today too and all the wheel hubs look correct. I suspect you could return yours for a better one then, and that you have been unlucky.

Looks like you got a NGB Models! The B stands for B Stock!

Like Big Al said, turn it in for another. Nice model nonetheless!

Thanks for that! I bought this model from a supplier in Hong Kong! Don't usually use them. So obviously the ' B Stock' is a known issue to these suppliers I take it?

If it's the same one I use them his customer service is second to none. Give him a shout and send your photos. You could also ask NG for replacement gears.

Okay thanks Big Al. I'll try get hold of the supplier, however I know he only had one left so it's probably a slim chance. As far as replacement gear from NG, that'll prove difficult to replace as they're all super glued on! Don't want to mess up the model!

Sitting it in some warm water cam help to loosen them.

To be honest i'd rather pay 5EUR more per model and minimize the risk of getting a B model. When i think about it , i believe to have a few of those so called B models. I mean, the models look very crisp nonetheless, but i always asked myself NG could do something about the undercarriage to make it fit better to the mould in deneral regarding accuracy.

I'm not sure why they have 'B models' in the first place?? Doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever!! They have a release of a model which is limited anyway, why can't they all be the same? Especially when we as collectors are paying a lot more money for them compared to other model manufacturers!
Be good to hear NG's version of explanation here!

, yeah partly! "B stock," also known as "blemished" models; however, do make it to market! Especially at shows! JetstreamsUSA does it with IF200 models, but fully discloses this at time of sale and often at a reduced prices.

Me thinks the folks at NG are more preoccupied with staying alive than to worry about expectations which go well beyond anal.

Wishing the folks at NG, JC, PH, GJ, & IF good health and stay safe!

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

In other words: wishing those who actually need to massively improve their own products would not even talk about their competitors.

I have a few NG's with this very issue, and it is semi-annoying. But one thing that arguably I notice more (and I am wondering if anyone else agrees) is that NG's cockpit windows are a touch too small, and need to be enlarged? L1011s have distinctly large cockpit windows, and I just dont know if NG is getting this defining detail right....

And for my anal-retentive friends, another thing I notice is that the main gear wheels are too close. This would take a re-tool, but from these two comparison shots, it looks like something to consider. I notice this same thing for their Dreamliners, skinny landing gear.

I do agree, but it's not consistent, some seem smaller than others. The Pan Am -500 is definitely too small. None are too large, but the LTU and Delta examples look fine to me. But a millimeter or so more height across the board for the cockpit windows would get the look more correct, IMO.

The gear spacing doesn't bother me as much - that photo looks to be at enough of a different angle that it's hard to be sure it's that off.

I was the first to mention this that models take a back seat during the Coronavirus, if you can remember that? I know what's going on in China and yes I know how serious it is! I'm not that callous that I expect them to sort out these ' anal issues' right away!! What kinda fool do you take me for?
I mentioned these 'anal issues' for and when the situation goes back to normal for these guys!° Let's make you aware of where I stand on this subject!
Wishing the Chinese a speedy recovery to the horrible situation they're currently facing!
Matter closed!

I'm in agreement. Both the DC-10 and the L-1011 had large cockpit windows - huge windows. The NGModels Tristars windows are a tad smaller than they might be. We will never have pure perfection, but still, NGM's Tristars are the best yet. Doug
