Question B777 9X Models !

Has anyone yet got the B777-9X Gemini Jets Emirates model!

I nearly bought last year the PACIM 1:200 scale one from Emirates model shop but decided it was too expensive for my likes and was worth the wait till some diecast brands started doing some!

However it seems so far as far as i am aware only JCWings and Gemini Jets at 1:400 scale have done one! JCWings have done the test bed Boeing Model and its the wrong colour as it should be blue not Orange!

The Gemini jets one looks alright from what i can see but i usually avoid Gemini Jets as over priced and not as good as other brands! Though i am not sure but it look like its winglets can move? Anyone bought this model yet?

I am waiting for other manufacturers to build this model in different airliners who ordered the plane, and the real plane is not even flying yet..

But the Gemini version is not my favourite and the winglets CANNOT move..

Hi Etihad !

I was not certain but i did not build my hopes up on that! I gather its from the angle and the shadowing of the drawn on winglet bolts/hinge arm that made it look like it might have a hinge!

Yes it is way behind schedule in real life but Boeing has alot of issues right now!

Regarding liveries, there is not many to go by! I suppose (my view) the Etihad and Eva Air are the most adventurous and desirable! BA not bad but Emirates looks livery looks quite good on that model and i would like my first Emirates model to be of that aircraft type!

I will dwell on it as the JCWings one was not that good from what i have seen and it will be a while before other brands start doing them.

Air France and Lufthansa are the most boring liveries there are out there in my view,so blande!

JC released the RED house livery, that was the color in the initial renderings, they have also announced the blue house colors, that has yet to be released.

Hi there Aznichiro!

Yeah I read somewhere they were going to so a blue one but I saw pics of the red one and the nose looks wrong/odd and the engines too!

What I really hope is AV400 do some! Why? Check out Richard Stretton thread on here to do with AV400 models and it shows big pics of their B777-300er models just done recently in China Airlines livery and they do look great! Av400 seems to be starting to branch out into new model types! Good too!

GJ announced here that due to licensing issue, they cannot release the 777-9X with moveable winglets (Same goes to JC). I bought JC Boeing red house livery. It's a stunning model. Love it.

Yep i can believe that! Boeing does this alot as of their own models for sale from Boeing ! I was looking forward to the B787-9 fantasy livery with all those purples/pink,blues blended hues! Very colouful livery and it was to represent something but i cannot remember what that was???

Besides that i am glad you liked your JCW 9X in the red house colours but i ded feel the nose looked odd/different to their usual B777 models? Its alright but till i see a side on picture of the Gemini Jets Emirates model, will not be able to conclude which one is better!

Unhappy Re: B777 9X Models !

After watching the video,i am glad i did not buy it! It lacks details that other brands would do ,especially underneath the fuselage and missing aerials and wifi dome and overall just looks blande! If it was half the price they want for it ,then maybe i would go for it but even the JCWings one is crap too!

I will have to wait and hope a proper brand like AV400 or NG or Inflight200 do one eventually!

Easy to say that when there is no image of the actual product yet. GJ will give us a new model also featuring the right registration and radomes whatsoever. - - as soon Boeing rolls out the actual aicraft (painted and fully assembled).

Besides JCWs 779 does not have a radome aswell. Plus they put the wrong engines on it.

https://www.aviation-center-berlin.de/p/LH4126

Just to speak for me, i like the model - the only issue i would "complain" about is the too big cockpit and the folding mechanism, which simply looks crude, suitable for a Matchbox "model". Also the carving of the slats and flaps could be a little more contemporary.

The JCWings is alright but obviously for many of us the standards are not good enough or there yet!

My only concern is this Boeing ruling on the winglets? Its going to look poor that brands have to draw on hingers and not be able to show 'movable' parts!
I can see JCWings maybe doing models with the ofer of 2 versions! One wings out ,the other same model with winglets put firmly 'UP' like the 'Flaps-down' versions!

JC screwed the engines. When you look at the original 779 you see that GJ totally nailed them compared to JC. On the JC counterpart they look more like those of the 77W. Plus: JC released a red wave 779 and not a blue one, imho a major mistake - when you expect an accurate model.

JC wings were modelling this, the original concept house livery, not the first rollout ship

There are other threads concerning this

You are missing the point of discussion - we are discussing how accurate a model can be. And as JC basically released a fantasy model - like they would have released a BA Landor or Negus ...incl the wrong engines. Which is not important, because the livery never made it from artwork to reality (at least on the 779).

Some pics

https://www.wingsworld.cn/index.php/...etail/id/29400

Just my two cents: the nosecone needs to be a little smaller to make the cockpit sitting lower. - incl the windowline (it does NOT sit on the same level as the roots of the horizontal stabs). The pax doors also look a little too small - but as i said before, for a first attempt it Looks pretty ok to me.

Just for the records: the actual plane does NOT have any antennae on the underside of the fuselage, So GJ did an accurate Job on it - more concerned i am about Geminis inabilty to print correct situated window- and cheatlines. Please also note the lower sitting cockpit and the slightlx revised nosecone.

I am just glad i held back! Its like when the first B787's and A350's appeared! It too a few years to the brands got it almost right!! So just have to wait a year or so till its worth buying one! Pacim model was the best so far but very expensive!

Imho it is a lack of QC. Not a matter of mould development in general.
