Default GJ Southwest Colorado One

Just received this one.

I feel kind of weird with it honestly. What do you guys think? The landing gear is very similar to the ones on the super early Nevada One release.

Perhaps GeminiJets is tinkering with their current tooling?

Dunno if good.

This new release has a seam at the wing joint like the old mould... whereas the model in the Heart livery has no seam, and (imo at least) better landing gear

Dragster look on the Colorado One! It could be the angle at which the plane is positioned in the photo? Struts seem long?

Interesting, it looks a lot like their old 737 mould just with antennas

Yeah, that's really strange. Looks like a downgrade in my opinion.

Probably found a box full of blank test runs in a factory corner lost many years ago and put them to use. I don't like the look of the model and I don't like the look of the livery either. And this coming from someone who loves living in Colorado....

This is what I was thinking!

Does the landing gear count as the "Mould" too? Becuase they are exactly the same as the ancient ones. The mould is very clearly the same too, because my other older WN models all have that exact same seam and feel.

Everything about this model screams cash grab. Southwest" "old mould" "old gears." Even those engine pylons are ghastly compared to the newer version. A quick way to capitalize without a major financial undertaking. Someone said in an earlier post that these are probably printed on blanks that were sitting around the shop. I have one on order from waffle because I collect Southwest, and I'm sure Gemini knows lots of people do. Why not make something that fleet builders can't avoid?

What has happened is that Gemini have seemingly lost access to the JC Wings mould that they were using and have reverted back to their older mould.

This is the same as for the 737-300. They released that WestPac Simpsons 737 on the Phoenix mould but the recent Western and United 733s are on their old mould. This isn't a problem for the 733s as the Phoenix mould is a piece of sh*t.

I don't know why they'd use their old mould in this case since JC Wings make Gemini's models?

It definitely is a cash grab in my opinion. People have been crying out for Southwest models in particular the younger collectors. Don’t know much about the mould but it doesn’t look great to me.

Giant step backward. Strange way to respond to stiffer competition. Doug
