Default An Ordinary Boeing: A 737-400 Wishlist

The 737-400 has been poorly treated in 1:400 scale. Yes there have been 70 releases but mainly of minor operators or airlines from late in its career and not the schemes of majors who operated it in its prime. So Panda have now developed a new mould and what are their first two announcements? A freighter and a government aircraft. I am not impressed.

Panda if you read the forum take a look at this list of over 60 737-400s you should be making. To be honest I'd be happy enough with the Gemini / JC Wings mould but JC Wings recent Icelandair announcement continues the annoying trend by using the later livery, which was not representative of the types delivery or primary years with FI. Oh well.

Here's the full list:

The big gap for me as an American are the Piedmont liveries. Piedmont blue-stripe does seem to me the place to start for the US.

There was also a niche USA Detroit City Airport -based low-fare carrier called Pro Air that flew the 734 in different tail colors in the late 90's. I have a 1999 timetable for them that shows BWI, LGA, MDW, ATL, and other destinations.

You missed Aeroflot and subsidiaries (eg Aeroflot-Don).
An Aeroflot 737-400 was one of the first Western jets I flew on.

Although they had them for a short time love to see them release it in Aloha Airlines last colors...Aloha had two of them inter island in the dark blue bird of paradise color scheme but due to the cycles needed for inter island travel the turbofan engine wasn't well suited for that market so aloha went back to the JTD-8 engines better suited for frequent start and stop engine cycles. Love to see them release one in 1/200 too.

She has been done in 200 scale, but I don't believe in 400 scale.

Good extra suggestions guys. Embarrassed that I forgot Aeroflot but I admit to not having heard of the Azul freighter or Jetstar Pacific versions
