Default Phoenix - Just Not Good Enough

Received this junk yesterday. Missing nosewheel and wings half stuck on by a kid. Really??

It'll be nice when it's finished..

Phoenix can be really hit and miss that’s for sure. Will you be returning it?

Absolutely. I'd spotted the nose gear prob and searched the packaging for the other tyre with a view to just fitting it myself, no bother.

Then I spotted the really glaring quality drop off, so that was that. Pity really because the rest of the model is excellent. I've also looked at other examples for sale on ebay that have been assembled properly, so I hold out hope a swap for a decent example is possible. Either that or a refund.

You’d kinda hope the retailer would have the decency to check the model before sending it. Quite disappointing if you ask me, they make you pay for shipping to return it as well don’t they?

Not in this case - looks like they pay. Agree with your point about them checking before posting, though. It's obviously defective, nothing subtle about it!

The argument about retailers checking every model they send out goes around and around and around. I've been in ARD when they're shipping out hundreds of models every other day. They do their best, but alas some duds unfortunately get through. The question should be asked, why are they allowed to leave the factory in that condition.

Respect to Aircraft Model Store (https://www.aircraftmodelstore.co.uk/), they've been really good about it and I should hopefully receive an acceptable replacement. It does seem Phoenix have a bit of a rep with this though, so buyers beware.

We actually don't care at all, and I even pay my workers extra to drop kick each model before boxing it, to be sure they arrive in pieces!!
