Thoughts on the Qantas 787-9? Wait for NG or JC wings or go with Gemini?

Shame the southwest is not with the new scheme tail, but glad to see a Southwest release again. United CRJ-550 will be a purchase

Probably just the Qantas 787, United 737-300 and CRJ-550 for me.

Yes! I will most likely get the UA 737-300 and CRJ-550! Will wait for photos before pulling trigger.

FAT MD-80 is a disappointment from the perspective of use of that tooling. Isn't a Delta Ron Allen livery MD-88 something GJ should be able to say, "Already done!"?

Good to see a new GeminiMACS mould, but the A400M is not on my list of things to get. Probably will sell well on the other side of the Atlantic.

If AC still had a 733 mould, or NG had one, I'd wait for them to do a United Saul Bass large-titles 733. If the photos look good, I'll get the Gemini for the Rochester section.

I'd wait on the 787. Gemini is STILL using their cradle mould for what reason I know not especially when they *should* have access to JC's which is far more advanced. I'd put all my chips down on NG taking a stab at this one as well (now that they are officially listened with Boeing) and surely Phoenix will try. I will say it does seem getting Qantas models from some of the more incognito producers has been a bit more tricky lately sans the "Yam Dreaming" version that was attempted by NG but not put into major production. JC's version probably got our because of their alliance with Gemini who holds a license or agreement of some kind with this airline. Just my unorganized first thoughts.

I like some of these, I will surly get the SW, and seeing as this is the only MD mould in use, I'll probably take the FAT, United CRJ for sure and probably the Dash-8.

Anyone know if the CRJ gear issues have been fixed? I bought and returned 3 separate Air Canada CRJ-900s that had the main gear on backwards, making them too close together. I thought Gemini had fixed it, but when I bought the Delta Connection CRJ-700, it was still wrong.

Agreed with the Gemini mould, I can’t stand the cradle either. Don’t think I’d go near Phoenix after receiving their “Yam Dreaming” attempt. Jc Wings could be months before release as with NG. Might wait and see photos before considering Gemini.

The FAT MD-80 is basically a re-release as JC Wings made it for Dream Air not long ago on the same mould:

https://www.diecastmodelaircraft.com...0#.Xbohqi2B1cA

It seemed with the Western that Gemini are back using their superior old 737-300 rather than the crappy Phoenix one so that's good news. That release should be nice.

For military collectors, the 1/400 new tool RAF Airbus A400M is very welcome. As these fly over my house out of RAF Brize Norton, this is a 'must have'.

Not a very exciting month. UAX CRJ-550 is cool, but then again, GJ's casting is awful. Wait for 1:200.

Even with WN repainting their fleet, GJ felt the need to do Colorado One with the Canyon Blue tail rathen than the new tail, which has not been applied to the real aircraft as of yet. A misguided move.

Qantas 789, I'm sure will sell, but another Emirates release and cargo planes are not what the community wants.

Pass on everything.

I flew on Colorado One a couple of weeks ago, she's still got the old tail colours, so this is accurate. I'll definitely be grabbing it, first Gemini in months. Gemini 400 November Releases-20190822_123455_1572497366954.jpg

Gemini Mac's, RAF Atlas ! Finally the 'Edward Scissorhands' of aviation gets a 1:400 release. Well done GJ, far better to be creating innovative toolings than bitching about the competition.

Southwest Colorado One and United 737-300 for me! Two exciting releases, and I am glad to see the 737-300 tooling getting more use again. One of the better older moulds, and who doesnt love a Saul Bass release!

Love the idea of the United CRJ and Alaska Q400. Will wait to see some pictures before deciding.

United's 737-300 in the Saul Bass bold titles scheme is an excellent choice and this will be my first Gemini Jets model after quite some time. Thumbs up!

So frustrating!! The two recent GJ 737-300's I would have LOVEDDD in 727-200 form. GJ's 722 is the best, by far. Both the Western and this United would have been outstanding in 727 form. Why 733's?!?!?! Why?!?!?

I'll probably still end up getting the United 733. All the while lamenting at what could have been, if it were a three-holer instead.

PS.... nice to see GJ actually doing a few classics here and there. Fingers eternally crossed for more Convair 580's (and 727's).

I am allowed to have an opinion, and this opinion clearly triggers you. I honestly don't understand why you care so much. Are you a GJ employee? Wouldn't surprise me, based on how you treat others.

Here's another opinion. I am probably one of the nicest guys you could ever meet, and, as a mod, your juvenile bastardization of me is pretty laughable.

Your apparent willingness to insult me so frivolously demonstrates that you are unqualified for your role as a moderator.

Nothing this month for me. I was hoping for a few more Gemini MAC's to be released. Too bad the website doesn't show a finished model for the A 400.

Maybe some more KC-135's in the future from Gemini?

I'm up for some! Fairchild, Grand Forks, McConnell, Rickenbacker and Andrews AFBs first come to mind. A ton of possibilities! And let's not forget the 80s-90s era camouflaged KC-135s!

JC is hand tied. Once Gemini has put their hands in it they’re basically banned from making it. You’re best hope is NG, and they have a mold that is superior to Gemini’s; unless, Gemini decides to use JC Wings’s mold then you should get this release. We need to wait to find out thought, I bed you they’ll use their old, subpar mold.

Hey Harvey....altho I was never in the Air Force I did spend 4 years in Grand Forks. Back then they had some of the older engined 135s and B52s.....we'd see them flying around all the time. And I'm still thawing out from that place!!

Wow, you're definitely dating yourself talking about B-52s at Grand Forks! I used to regularly fly into Grand Forks airport and see the R-model KC-135s doing racetracks nearby. I understand right now they have only Global Hawks, but heard that Grand Forks might be a location for the new KC-46s.

Just keep in mind JC Wings are part plastic (tail planes and vertical stabilizer). That is why my preference is now NG. Gemini Jets 787-10s are the same, except they also lack the bottom antenna.

Still very nice aside from that and my two Gemini 787-10s do look good, but going forward I will be buying NG 787s. I must have gotten lucky because my two Gemini 787-10s are nearly perfect quality control wise (United & Etihad).

I lived up in Winnipeg as a kid and remember the KC-135A's and KC-135E's showing up to the airshow there in the early nineties with the odd buff doing a flying demo. That's where I first saw a KC-135 in the old camo colors at those airshows. Not sure if they were based in Grand Forks though.

I really hope that there are some A and E models done up. I have the old dragon wings releases of the E models. Still plenty more that can be made up even the original polished metal 135A's.

Yes and the same for me. They fly over Worthing in a SE direction at cruising altitude and the drone of their props on certain days is eerie to say the least. But a wonderful sound all the same. Pretty much like the old prop Hercs. A sound everyone should try hear at some point!

Looks like Gemini is using the old mould again, look at the wing joint.

That is disappointing to say the least. I thought this mould had seen the last of its days a few years back with the introduction of the new JC mould. I never thought the JC -700 mould was all that incredible either, bu IMO is the better of the two between JC and GJ.

On the other hand, that new A400M looks fantastic, so job well done on that one Gemini! That's one I will certainly be adding, along with the United Saul Bass.

All the new Gemini releases for this month have photos up on the Gemini website. Looks like the Vietnam Airlines 787-10 is the (very nice)JC mould. Maddening how Gemini go back and fourth with their 787 moulds. The shorter cradle mould is so bad. At least there are enough other players putting out 787s we should see better versions of the recent 787s that Gemini has been doing eventually.

The Saul Bass United 733 is looking pretty good. Can't wait to get my hands on it!

Really looking forward to the United Saul Bass 737-300. Would have preferred it without the silly printed radome lines, but very glad to finally see this subject in 1:400. And I agree with Transpac787 above. Would be awesome to see the recent retro 733s on the 727-200. With this United 733 being done, I guess that throws out the possibility of ever seeing a Saul Bass 735, but I still have my fingers crossed that GJ or someone else will finally get around to doing a revised Saul Bass 737-200 with the lowered stripes and large titles.
