Default NG Models - 727-100?

The 727 is arguably one of the best looking and popular commercial airplanes ever made. I would love to see NG do for the 727-100 (and -200) what they have done for the 757 and L-1011. The Aeroclassics 737-200 mould is supurb, and in my opinion, can't be made any better. Not the same can be said about the 727 however. AC's fuselage is good, but the tail is a bit "off", Gemini's tail (on the -200) is good, but the nose seems "off". Dragon's is good, but wings are too thick. Either way, the decent 727-100 molds aren't being used anymore and I think it would be spectacular if NG took a stab at the 727-100. I find not only are NG's models augmenting my collection, they are replacing models in my collection. I don't think NG necessarily needs to look for models that haven't been made yet. Their 757's and L-1011's are simply better than the rest, and that will certainly drive sales from collectors, even if they already own the same model from a different manufacturer. Collectors are always looking for more accurate models, and I think the 727 deserves better representation. There are lots of other good ideas for NG out there, this is just mine.

Good call - with no one using their 727-100 moulds any more, there would be plenty of scope for a new mould made by NG. United delivery scheme was never done, neither was Icelandair nor Royal Nepal Airlines just for starters.

The missing B.707s still needed to be done in 1/400: Ethiopian, Uganda Airlines, Air Zimbabwe (rainbow scheme), Kenya Airways, Air Niugini.

DC-8s still needed to be done in 1/400: UAT, Iberia ('80s scheme), Air Ceylon, Surinam Airways, Air Spain

Aeroclassics Comets still missing- Dan Air (4 & 4C), United Arab Airlines/Misrair/Egyptair, Kuwait AW, Sudan AW, East African AW, Saudi Royal Flt.

I've never understood how AC didn't get the 727-200 quite right when they had already produced a pretty decent 727-100 beforehand. As all those earlier releases are near impossible to find, some fresh input would be welcome!

I hope that NG is considering doing the 727-200 and especially the 727-100! An Icelandair 727-100 (to include the various liveries) would be the cats meow along with an Air Canada Cargo , TAESA and Emery -100....to name a few. Some other great liveries for the 727-200 would be VASP, Ansett Serpent, Emery, First Air, Air Jamaica, Canadian Cargo Jet and the list is endless. I really hope we see the 727 done by NG!!

First off the 727 is my absolute favorite aircraft and would love to see NG make both versions of it. But I really don’t see that happening, what I imagine they will do is continue to expand on the portfolio they have now, I envision the 737 family to expand into the -900 and MAXes, the A340 to be added to compliment the A330, I even imagine they will do the A350 sooner than later and with both versions. They are expanding the 787 with the new -10 mould. Last year they said they were working on the 757-300, but we haven’t heard anything more about it. Also been noticing they don’t post on here anymore and perhaps they use Facebook ? I have zero inside connections and these are just my thoughts. But an all new 727 mould would be fantastic !! ToddCB

The 727 is a very close second to the L-1011 for me, although for whatever reason I prefer the proportions of the -200 to the -100. Either way though, I agree with mt8667 - despite the AC versions being quite good, and GJ's being passable, I would certainly replace any of my 727's with an NG quality effort, and there's enough new ground to cover as well to make it viable.

Todd, you are probably right and I've also noticed a reduction in dialogue from NG on this forum. I'd imagine they, like the other manufactures, get bombarded with requests and wish lists. I do hope they continue to peruse these threads for inspiration! Maybe this will be a seed for a 727 to be considered, one can always hope!

Curious if the 757-300 mould will see daylight from NG.

I'm also curious if we'll see that one, eventually. Certainly hope so.

As far as 727-100s go, in addition to the Icelandair 727s, an Aero Peru 727-100 in the pink/red livery would just be phenomenal.

The early AeroPeru colors would be welcome, would love to have the AeroMexico silver colors as well. The aircraft is such a classic and with all new updated tooling, the field of variety would be wide open.

I suspect no one has plans for a 727 in the works. I'd love it, it's probably my favorite narrowbody aircraft. But, it just seems unlikely to me. (unfortunately)

It's always baffled me that no one ever made the DB Cooper plane, N467US. One of the most famous incidents of all airline history and lore, and it's never been made in 1:400. The 1:200 side of the hobby was lucky enough to get such a release in 2018.
