Default Some inspiration for NG

What 1/400 moulds would you like NG to release?

The ones i prefer would be 747-100/200, Il-86, 727-200 and 777-9. What about you?

I feel like there has been a thread on this topic recently, but the squeeky wheel gets the grease I suppose...

Top 2 obvious choices
1. 747-100/200/300/400
2. MD80 Family

Two Personal Preferences:
3. ERJ 170/190 Family (GJ/JC got this tooling all wrong)
4. TU-134, this one gets mentioned a lot, but not sure we will ever see this in 1/400

Yes, there was. I've pointed out thread repetition before but people just comment on the new thread anyway. So, I'll just join in the squeaking too.

I second your choices. 747's, though I would include the SP. The BB400 moulds seem to be effectively lost, as BB3's hardly appear, and they aren't of the quality of the originals (for instance, the ridiculous fat aerials).

For MD-80's, there are decent moulds out there, but they almost never seem to get used. NG would give us a top-quality mould, colors, and print detail, and there are classic liveries to do in addition to we get to what could be reissued.

I actually agree with your opinions, but you’ve brought up this topic several times. It’s become quite repetitive, with really no new content.

This current thread is a word-for-word duplicate of a thread you made back in June:
https://www.diecastaircraftforum.com...ration-ng.html

“Some Inspiration for NG”, where you named your same preferences of MD80 and 727. NG even responded to you! So, why the need to bring it up again, to make the exact same pitch from 3 months ago??

Yep sorry, pardon my ignorance.

I agree with the 747/MD80/E-Jet families, and would also like to see some 737 Classics, A220s (personal favourite, but I do recognise it's a pretty new aircraft so the market is kinda limited as of now), but would also like to see some smaller and more obscure planes, such as CRJs, ATRs, SSJs etc.

Id love to see the A220 series as Gemini have tried to give Phoenix's 747 mould a run for its money in terms of quality (see Jon Champs reviews). E jets wouldn't be a step too far either, so many liveries they could do and I imagine they'd be quite cheap as they're small models

I think in terms of profit a 767-300 mould would be good as well. Similar to the 757 situation before NG, lots of liveries and airlines operated it, the moulds are substandard and some of the more retro ones are hard to come by. It'll be for both retro and modern collectors whereas 747SP/100/200 and MD 80s would really only serve the retro guys.

However I'm not bothered, NG is doing a great job and I'm happy with their selection

I don’t understand why NG should repeat what has been done before them with greater or lesser success.

Let him do the Tu-114, 134
Antonov 10-12-22-24
Yakovlev 40 and 42

Armstrong Whitworth AW.660 Argosy in BEA livery
Handley Page Hermes

and much more, but for the first time

Yeah I ditto a new 767-300 mould being done to the standards of NG. I have many 763's but as mentioned above, below standard renditions came out which at the time seemed very good. However with the superior standards displayed by NG, I think these should be redone. It's my same sentiments regarding the 747SP which has always been sub standard in my opinion anyway!

What happened to the BigBird 767-300 mould that they and Aeroclassics used? Is that another mould sucked into the JC "mould black hole?" That's a very good mould and I own a number of those 767s. I wouldn't replace any of them, but I might get more 767-300's, particularly national and trunk carriers, if they were made.

Definitely the MD-80 and -90! Especially in AA and TWA liveries. Would love to get N984TW in the two liveries listed above.

747, especially the -400 is a given. All the current molds are lacking and tired.

I would also suggest the 777, all submodels. Everything out there really doesn't cut it at all.

Naturally, the 737 MAX might be a logical step, seeing how excellent their -800 mold is.

Perhaps regional jets? A fresh ERJ-145LR/XR and CRJ-700/-900 would be nice too
