Default The NG TriStar L-1011-500 G-BLUS British Airways.

Got my rendition of the new long awaited NG TriStar this morning. Lovely little piece, they got the 'dolphin like' nose shape spot on. Looking forward to more of these soon.

The cockpit windscreen is what grabs me. Nicknamed the ‘greenhouse’ because of the expanse of glass, they nailed it - the best rendition I’ve seen yet. Even better then Dragon Wings -500, Doug

It looks good i might be getting this one too!! but i see you don't have the Aeroclassics British Airways Landor DC-10 yet, this NG Tristar would look nice next to the McDonnell Douglas jet..

I've actually got the Aeroclassics, Gemini and Apollo versions of the Landor DC-10. As well as an extensive all round Landor collection. Here is the AC next to the NG...

Nice one Al, this model is a beauty. It is just spot-on! Got mine today and thoroughly impressed by them. Cannot get over all the accurate details. That Dolphin nose is there in all it’s glory. Doug is right, they’ve nailed the cockpit windows - the profile and shape is all there. They have surpassed Dragon Wings here, no doubt about that. We now have our benchmark L-1011’s in 1/400 🙂

NG really did a fantastic job on the L-1011. Can't wait to see them do some Delta Widget Tristars. Throw in a TWA final colors one as well

Nice hangar scene with Landor 80's vibe to it.

Agreed, wonderful model. Hopefully, we get a Delta and United (Saul Bass) -500. A Pan Am/United hybrid would be great as well!

It's an absolute beauty. So well researched and accurate in every way. From what I can see so far:
The nose is correct in shape
The flight deck windows are wide enough and correctly done
The landing lights are actually correct as per the aircraft. Some releases especially the Aviation400 versions had B727 landing lights. Don't believe me? Check them out! Don't know if the other new L1011 moulds are accurate on this front,so won't comment.
Landing gear looks spot on
Engines and mountings spot on.
So all in all...loving what I see! Bring on the many more!

Brilliant suggestions mt8667, I'm sure NG will release those and other favourites in the forthcoming months. Hoping to see TWA twin-globes/stripes and BA Negus on this mould too

Can I ask where you ordered from Adrian? Still waiting for my pre-order from ARD. Have generally stopped pre-ordering but knew this release would be particularly hot! 🥵

Can't speak for Adrian but mine came from Demographer X on eBay. He's Hong Kong based and pretty efficient at sending stuff out.

Having seen photos of the AC BA and Eastern/BEA Tristars, even not being a rivet counter, the tampo is just poor. I think I will go with NG. Hopefully they will come up with replacemnets for my current BB etc.

Thanks, I have ordered many models from Demographer X in the past too and can’t speak highly enough of his service and value for money. Unfortunately it looks like he’s out of stock. Will chase up ARD, however they’ve probably sold my pre-order to someone else.

Thanks for the info, have just put my order in with Moons! Can’t wait for it to arrive, photos look stunning.
The one thing that stands out for me, from what I’ve seen, are the engines and wall thickness of the engine intake. They appear nice and thin (true to scale). The rear mounted engine, being such a prominent feature of the Tristar, is particularly important to get right and looks like NG have again nailed it.
Obviously BlueBox (and in some cases Aeroclassics) have got engine intakes pretty wrong and they start to easily look toy like.

Just received mine in the mail. My L1011 came with a loose wing and loose engines. This was also my first time using liquid super glue so it was fun to repair it. Very Awesome model and it can be displayed with all Gemini stands unlike the 757...
