Default Manufacturing Errors - Latest Aeroclassics Release

As much as the A321 is hated by travelers, I had been waiting for AC to make a neo ever since AA took delivery of their first frame. Needless to say I experienced a rush of excitement when I saw the AA A321neo in the list of AC's recent release. However, that excitement soon turned into disappointment when pictures of the new model came out.

I could deal with the incorrect sharklet wings in exchange for the life-likeness of AC's a320 series mould, but this time the lack of accuracy has gone over the top - way beyond the reasonable acceptance limit for those who care for even the faintest resemblance a model is expected to create.

For starters, the registration of the aircraft should be N400AN, judging by the MSN AC4N400AN, same as the first a321neo AA took received. However, pictures provided by multiple stores show the registration printed on the model to be N400N.

If that doesn't somehow bother those who have been waiting on the model, this would: the layout of doors and exits are wrong. The real aircraft is equipped with the new configuration from Airbus, featuring four doors, two aft-wing exits and two overwing exits with two optional exits plugged. AC, however, gave its model the conventional layout with four doors and four larger exit doors.

I don't know what can be done at this point except for them to make another batch with a future release (with these errors corrected hopefully.) This post is not to start a keyboard fight nor to bash the brand; I really appreciate AC making models of some of my favorite plane/airline combinations, and some of those are easily my favorite models ever collected. I plan on making a trip to a local store later this week and would buy other models from this release on a heartbeat. It would just be much of a shame if no other options exist and people are left with GJ's not-so-real JC products when it comes to this specific A321.

Pictures attached; judge for yourself. Thoughts and comments always welcomed!

Cheers

Look back at a post dated 6-10-19 number #86 and you will find your answer.

Didn't realise the A321 was disliked by travellers...........that's a new one on me. Nothing bad about the ones I've been on.

Personally speaking, the size of the doors is a very minor error, yes I appreciate they are slightly wrong, but if it was in my collecting criteria, it wouldn't bother me. But each to their own of course.

Ah, I see! Never saw that discussion taking place; guess this is a redundant topic then. Thanks for pointing that post out.

I think it has something to do with ppl still assuming that a wide body offers better onboard experience in comparison to flying an a321 on transcon routes, through there are so many other factors that aircraft type alone only contributes partially to the overall impression.

Sure, and this is obviously not the first time an OEM as slipped. I'm by no means questioning the brand but I think those who like to set up dioramas and photograph them could probably empathize with my thoughts as many of my models are used for pictures thus it's a bit more of a deal to me than it probably would be to some others, in which case they could happily admire the product. Gonna wait for a second batch of release, if that ever comes

Would think at the moment the A32x is way preferable to the 737max...

There seem to be a lot of these on here. Usually with 1 or 2 posts.

Yeah, ban them one at a time. These things are only a nuisance and as far as I can tell, pose no threats to either individuals or the site itself, but require effort by the mods to eradicate. Merely a Bot Bother. Doug

1+1=+2

Back to the plane. From the pics can't tell, because at different angles and I am too lazy to look up other pics, but are the pylons accurate? Also I know Andrew doesn't like antenna, but it would make it look a little more realistic...my argument to this is Air Force One! Couldn't imagine one without all the antenna, although in the past it was done in this scale!

Not to mention the wings are missing the small fairings unique to the A321. They did it right with the standard A321 wings, but didn't in developing the sharklet wing. Seem to be using the A320neo wing for the A321neo.

I hadn't noticed the misplaced doors until mentioned here. Good catch!

To my dull eyes the pylons look fine, but they usually do as long as they are there Antenna on the other hand are something that's to each his own...

The need for a second sharklets wings unique to the a321 has been present for a while now, although I had mentally blindfolded myself and was ready to embrace some love until I saw the doors

Optimistically waiting a better version of this model though
