More Muscle Machines: A CV-580 Wishlist

The arrival of a rare 1:400 CV-580 has seemingly pleased many and at least on this forum there appears a desire to see more. As Transpac787 has said the chances are slim aside from for those already made in 1:200 but in the staggering unlikely chance the mould gets a prolonged run-out here are 30 I'd love to see (I'd get most of them):

A couple points, in reference to your post:

1) One of the North Central photos you used is actually of the CV-340, not the CV-580. Which GJ could do, as they have the CV-440 mold. But, this was a bit more of a nitpick, since the thread itself is entitled a CV-580 wishlist ;)

2) I had absolutely no idea that TWA ever had CV580's in their Express fleet. This was a complete shock. While I only found out about its existence just moments ago, it's a model I'd love to have! But, since it's not yet been done on the 1:200 side, it's doubtful it'd make an appearance on the 1:400 side first.

3) United Express, American Eagle, and Aspen make up my own top-3 wishlist for the CV-580's. This photo you used though, is particularly cool. I can't tell quite for sure, as I have only very early memories of Stapleton. But, it looks like they're taxiing on the south side of of the old Concourse A gates, and visible across the way is the old DPOC terminal. Denver Ports of Call, an exclusive travel club that used private jets (707's!) and private terminals to fly their members around.

Good point. I think the 580s wore this scheme too.

Lots of great 70's USA regulation, and 80's Deregulation, CV-580's to do. I didn't realize that TWA had had CV-580's, either. As a child, maybe age 10 about 1978, I saw a North Central CV-580 at Benton Harbor airport (BEH), Michigan. I also remember seeing the beauty fly low over my grandma's house in neighboring St. Joseph.

I'd be up for Frontier , Air Ontario's own livery, and Lake Central, and one or two Aspen's, too. Probably others as well. :)

Also posted this in the GJ June release thread. First photo of the NC CV580 other than the main stock image.

Gear still looks a little bulky - unmodified from the previous mold. But, surely no complaints from me. I'm just glad to see 580's back in 1:400 scale.

Looks like they got the light blue spot on, too. Looking forward to receiving my pre-ordered model.

Looks good, let's use that mould Gemini! So many possibilities! United Express to start!

Re: More Muscle Machines: A CV-580 Wishlist

Iím really not trying to be a buzzkill here, but the evidence suggests that GJ isnít going to do any CV580ís in 1:400 that havenít already been released on the 1:200 side.

So, for everyone crossing fingers for a certain livery, check the GJ200 database. If itís been done already... there might be a shot we get it in 1:400!! But, if it hasnít been done on the 1:200 side, Iíd suggest itís a particularly slim-to-nil chance that itíll be done on 1:400.

So, Gemini has announced that they will be doing no more 1/200 CV-580s then? Where did they announce that?

I suspect youíre trying to be clever here, feigning ignorance of a non-existent announcement. ;)
