Default GJ Now Posting Future Release Previews??

I was a little surprised to see this on the GJ website, earlier this evening. They're now publishing "future release" previews, in addition to current and next month releases??

Is this a page out of the JC playbook, announcing models with an indefinite arrival date??

I'd better start saving for the four LH's.

It was just a matter of time before the current LH A380s would come out. Two models I'm guessing means regular version and flaps down version? Will be getting one of them for sure!

Good to see United finally shed the tired Continental livery. But bummed that the tulip didn't come back. Look forward to seeing a photo of the UA model.

I think one is 1:400 and the other is 1:200.
I'll be waiting on the BA Negus 744.
No sign of any more 1:400 CV-580s though.

If JC is going to try to manipulate the market, I suppose Gemini figures they can do the same. At least Gemini doesn't seem to be taking pre-orders, so they're not trying to do a money grab.

It'll be interesting to see when these models are released. If they turn out to be the July releases, we just found out about them a little early. Whereas with JC, they announce models and we wait until Captain Kirk is traveling the stars until they actually arrive. While they have your money.

I'll be getting the 1:400 BA Negus 747 when it's released. Still waiting for Gemini to do a Lufthansa 747-8i in the new livery.

Oh look it's the same model twice in 3 different occasions. I mean I like the new UA too, and the AF A350 looks hot, but I can't help but think they could make something different

I didn't notice that. At least that's saved a few pennies.

Yeah, that's quite disappointing. That said, as crownvic indicated, those are all only a portion of the actual forthcoming releases. So there's still hope - albeit rather limited hope, haha.

Nice to see the Negus 747-400. I guess GJ will be giving us the complete set.

Considering that when a manufacturer selects a mould for use, they usuually run off a few hundred castings on one run in order to make more than one livery, it would be a waste if they didn't use them. Would like to see a Republic,American Eagle or DHL CV540 with Belgian reg.

Is this a typo?? For a couple reasons, haha:

1) I'm aware of only Allegheny who ever operated CV540's, though I could quite easily be wrong on that; especially as ships operated around on second-hand markets.

2) It'd be a completely different engine for GJ to have to incorporate into the mold.

Assuming they weren't all used on the North Central release.

I'm with you, though. I'm hoping more were cast and we might be lucky enough to see another release or two on different liveries.

Or United Express! The artwork exists for all three on the 1:200 side. Scaling down artwork from larger to smaller is always much easier than the inverse.

Looks like a typo:

I agree that all of the so far mentioned CV-580s are needed in 1:400!

There is another I'd like to see. AFAIK Air Chathams is the last company still flying these aircraft on scheduled passenger services. I was lucky enough to fly on one when on holidays down in NZ/Au several years ago.

Yeah, the old Frontier would certainly be cool.

All the others mentioned, though.... DHL, Air Chathams, Air Ontario.... I imagine those have a snowball's chance in hellfire of being produced. Simply on the basis that they don't already exist on the 1:200 side of the CV580's.

Look at the 1:400 releases on the CV580.... they are lockstep with their 1:200 predecessors.

FAA (N49) in 1:200..... FAA (N49) in 1:400
Allegheny (N5816) in 1:200..... Allegheny (N5816) in 1:400
North Central (N2041) in 1:200..... North Central (N2041) in 1:400

Based on that alone, I'd venture to say that if it doesn't already exist on the 1:200 side for CV580's, it won't be done on the 1:400 side.

Sadly I think you're probably correct although as the Chathams is a 'modern' aircraft there is a slightly better chance it could get made.

This discussion ties up nicely with my latest wishlist thread - check it out for all the 580 options

This is the first time we're seeing the BA Negus c/s on a 747 from Gemini (albeit a retro scheme on a -400). Nobody, apart from BB400 in 2005, has ever put that livery on a 747 in 1/400 so far. Interesting.

How’s your out-of-criteria Retro 747-400 1:400 collection going? Did you get Landor or BOAC? I can’t wait to have all 3 since I already have AC’s BEA 🙂
Also how’s the classic Negus repair going

Yes and as nice as the BB's are, we could do with more up to date examples on a modern mould with all the modern accoutrements.

Indeed - some updated releases of these classics would be very welcome, especially by those who are finding the BB examples impossible to get hold of.

Highest-quality 1:400 747 Classic relesases would be very welcome. Given that the BB moulds seem effectively lost, given how ridiculuously rarely "BB4" actually releases something, new moulds are probably the only realistic option.

New 747 Classic moulds--100/200, -300, and SP--should be NG's highest priority next moulds.

Hi Jag, I'll probably be adding the GJ Landor and Negus 744's as one-off, out-of-criteria additions very soon Might have to pick the BOAC one up too in order to complete the set I suppose, for posterity

Well remembered regarding the Negus 741 repair - it just needs painting and finishing with gloss varnish; I will get around to finally doing this one day! Other things have taken over a bit at the moment.

Indeed, this has been called out for many times! Hopefully this will happen someday; we've got plenty of TriStars to keep us busy in the meantime Back to topic - hopefully it's not a JC-style preview for these, and we don't have to wait until hell freezes over before we see them released.
