Very pleased with the Brunei A340, pretty sure it will be a hot seller. Although the Jet2 pair are not for me, I recon they will be very popular too. Will be interesting to see how the silver finish is replicated. Nice set of releases Panda!

The Jet2s will be very desirable indeed, I will be buying the passenger version! The Lufthansa plain livery is a bit of a weird one but I guess collectors will like it. I was hoping for a Jet2 Holiday but any Jet2 will sell like hotcakes

No, I'd have much rather had the Airbus house livery. I might pick up the Royal Brunei though, since the only example I have of that livery is a JC Wings A320 which is a terrible mould.

As would I, I meant it as Lufthansa collectors would like it, rather than just 'collectors' in general. But I do agree the house livery would've been better

Thanks SO MUCH PM for this wonderful release. I actually guessed it, but was too busy to post before your announcement today. This is a great addition and it's been long overdue and anticipated. I hope the Avianca Cargo (Colombia) N332QT will be released soon as well.

The Jet2 models will be very popular I am sure. I have some recommendations for Panda to release that will be very popular in Europe especially. Most of these have either never been made in 1:400 scale or are extremely rare to find:

- easyJet without sharklets (Normal new livery) - G-EZUP --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyJet with sharklets (Normal old livery) - G-EZWJ --> VERY RARE
- easyjet without sharklets (normal old livery) - G-EZUL --> VERY RARE
- easyJet (special 'Bordeaux' Titles) - G-EZUH --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyJet (special 'Moscow' Titles) - G-EZUG --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyJet (special 'Europe Car' titles) - G-EZPD --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyJet (special '20 years' livery) - G-EZOX --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyJet (special 'Berlin' Titles) - OE-IZQ --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyJet (Orange livery) - G-EZUI --> VERY RARE
- Wizzair with sharklets (Old livery) - HA-LPR --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- Wizzair without sharklets (Old livery) - HA-LYK --> VERY RARE
- Wizzair with sharklets (new livery) - HA-LYT --> VERY RARE
- Wizzair without sharklets (new livery) - HA-LWP --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- Thomas Cook (new yellow/grey livery) - EC-MVF --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- Thomas Cook (old blue livery) - G-VCED --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- Thomas Cook/Smart Lynx (White Livery) - YL-LCL --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- Titan Airways - G-POWK --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- Germanwings - G-AIPZ --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- Brussels Airlines (normal livery) - OO-SNI --> VERY RARE
- Brussels Airlines (Red Devils livery) - OO-SNA --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- Brussels Airlines (Smurfs Livery) - OO-SND --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- Brussels Airlines (Tomorrowland livery) - OO-SNF --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- British Airways (Landor Livery) - G-BUSE --> VERY RARE
- Laudamotion – OE-LOI --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- Pegasus Airlines – TC-DCH --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- Pegasus Airlines A320neo – TC-NBH --> NEVER MADE BEFORE

A319:
- easyjet (Normal new livery) - G-EZBW --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyjet (Normal old livery) - G-EZBM --> VERY RARE
- easyJet (special 'Hamburg' titles) - G-EZBG --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyJet (special 'Venezia' titles) - OE-LKF --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyJet (special 'Amsterdam' titles) - G-EZDN --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyJet (special 'europe car' titles) - G-EZDR --> NEVER MADE BEFORE

- West Atlantic (grey livery) - G-JMCO --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- West Atlantic (all white livery) - G-JMCM --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- Titan Airways (new livery) - G-ZAPW --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- Titan Airways (old livery) - G-POWC --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- Norwegian Air Shuttle (no winglets) - LN-KKR --> NEVER MADE BEFORE

Whilst all the easyJet liveries would be popular, the Normal livery (both old and new) will definitely be the most popular by far.

I hope you consider some/all of these over the coming months, as you would make many collectors very happy

Indeed! This is a great model. This model got a lot of good comments and requests when Panda Models announced the Avianca A330-300's and I can tell PM were aware of it. I'm glad to see PM listening to collectors suggestions and requests. I've seen PM's A330-200F's house livery on eBay and it looks awesome and so will look the Tampa Cargo for sure. Thanks again Panda.

Here is a result of some research, that I mainly did at airliners.net.
I found the following about A340-200er aircraft liverys and registrations.

First some remarks: If, in the following list
- the carrier is marked with * and registration not, a model with this carrier exists already but with different registration.
- if both, carrier and a registration is marked with *, there's a model with that livery and registration already.
- if only the registration is marked with a *, only one aircraft with this carrier (with given registration) found and a model is there.

Airbus house colors* (F-WWBA std. and with "THE WORLD RANGER")
A340-200, with primer, MSN and a logo on stapilizer (e. g. Lufthansa fin and registration F-WWJD)

Aerolineas Argentinas (LV-ZPO white tail, blue logo ~2001 or blue tail, white logo, ~2004)
AOM (F-GLZF)
Afriqiyah Airwais (5A-ONE*)

Air Europe (EC-JGU)
Air France Asie (F-GLZD*)
Air Leisure* (SU-GBM)
Air France* (F-GNIA)
Air Lib (F-GLZF)
Air Thaiti Nui* (F-OITN* n. n. or with name Bora Bora)

Brunei Sultans Flight* (V8-JBB)
- All white aircraft (V8-AC3)
Cathay Pacific (VR-HMR/T/U)
Conviasa (YV-1004*)
Egypt Air* (SU-GBO)
Government of ... Qatar (A7-HHK), France (F-RAJA), Saudi Arabia (HZ-124), Lybia (5A-ONE)
Kingdom Holding (HZ-WBT4)
Lufthansa* D-AIBA (in standard livery), D-AIBC or D-AIBD (90s c/s)
Mahan Air (EP-MMB)
Philippeans* (F-OHPG)
Qatar (A7-HHK*)
Royal Brunei* (V8-JP1)
Royal Jordanian* (JY-ABH)
Sabena* (OO-SCW, white tail, also with 75 years sticker and blue logo or blue tail with white logo*)
Saudi Arabian Royal Flight (HZ-HMS2)
South African Airways (ZS-SLA* or ZS-SLB)

Some Facts:
According to Wikipedia only 28 pcs. of the A340-200 were produced.
According to DIMA 32 Models of this Aircraft type have been released in 1/400 scale.
There's a Dragon Wings model listed of Air Lanka (?)

With best regards,

Jan

Jan - I can’t figure out F-GINB. Normally, Lufthansa white-outs the whole airplane when retiring it from service, but this A340-200 with only the “Lufthansa” titles leaves me baffled. I’m not sure it ever would have appeared this way. I find it strange, and at this point, do not plan to add the model to my collection. Over, Doug

The F- registration indicates a pre-delivery plane to me. Possibly a test frame that was then sold to LH?

That sounds reasonable - I missed the significance of the ‘F-‘ registration... Doug

The Tampa Cargo was a good idea. I collect freighters. Not exclusively, but I do like them.

There is an image of her on FlickR wearing this 'livery':

https://www.flickr.com/photos/aero_icarus/5689395497

and another attached.

Looks like she was leased for 3 months in 1996. A curious choice for a model but people seem to like Lufthansa regardless and Panda and HYJLwings have something of a fixation with them.

Thanks for all the responses - I now have a complete explanation on F-GINB. Remain convinced that I don’t need this model. Doug

Also, the jet2 733 ends of the winglets are red not white, and the ailerons have red on the ends of them. Not sure if you have actually included these in the model but wanted to make sure that you were aware

As for the Sichuan, this is what I´ve seen on ebay from PM´s and it looks great. So, I guess it´ll be up to the pictures you´ve already seen from JC-Wings and this photo:

I did a review of a Panda A330F:

https://thediecastflier.com/yangtze-...-airbus-a330f/

In my opinion it is better than the JC Wings as the undercarriage is a better length and better positioned, however the nosegear blister is moulded in on the JC mould whereas it is an added piece on the Panda. So really it is a matter of which you prefer of those differences as to which you're likely to go for

Great review Richard. Excellent explanations of the main key mould features of the A330-200F. I just hope the nosegear blister is improved for the new models.

Hi Doug, hi,

about the F-GNIB, according to my research, the Airbus/manufacturers registration of this aircraft was F-WWJF.
The aircraft was leased from SABENA to Air France (registered as F-GNIB) for 3 years, during this time it was subleased to LH from 03 1996 to 06 1996.

This aircraft is similar curious as the Lufthansa DC-10 D-ADSO with grey fuselage at about 1989 until mid 90ies or as the Lufthansa A330-200 in STAR ALLIANCE livery with registration HB-IQR (could be seen for one week only!). The HB-IQR was also registered as D-AIME and it was the first A330-200 in Lufthansa service which came originally from SABENA.

Those releases can allways be discussed more or less controversial, but I think, sure more than a release of standard livery and also there's a more clear threshold between those who probably don't would like to have it and those who like the model.

This model could be interesting - not only for Lufthansa collectors - but e. g. for people who will bring live into theire collection.

wbr,
Jan

Hi, Jan. My Lufthansa 1/400 collection is relatively large, but is not complete, meaning that it is limited to the ‘standard’ liveries. No experimental or test liveries, also minus the Star Alliance schemes. If I were go after all these additional schemes, the size of my Lufty collection would likely double in size and cost. The absence of the Star Alliance livery is a gaping hole, because for the last few years, I have flown the CityLine A340-300 service from TPA-FRA, and those aircraft are all in the Star Alliance livery. Thanks, Doug

A320:
- easyJet with sharklets (Normal new livery) - G-EZOZ --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyJet without sharklets (Normal new livery) - G-EZUP --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyJet with sharklets (Normal old livery) - G-EZWJ --> VERY RARE
- easyjet without sharklets (normal old livery) - G-EZUL --> VERY RARE
- easyJet (special 'Bordeaux' Titles) - G-EZUH --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyJet (special 'Moscow' Titles) - G-EZUG --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyJet (special 'Europe Car' titles) - G-EZPD --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyJet (special '20 years' livery) - G-EZOX --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyJet (special 'Berlin' Titles) - OE-IZQ --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyJet (Orange livery) - G-EZUI --> VERY RARE

A319:
- easyjet (Normal new livery) - G-EZBW --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyjet (Normal old livery) - G-EZBM --> VERY RARE
- easyJet (special 'Hamburg' titles) - G-EZBG --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyJet (special 'Venezia' titles) - OE-LKF --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyJet (special 'Amsterdam' titles) - G-EZDN --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyJet (special 'europe car' titles) - G-EZDR --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
-

737-300:
- easyjet (normal old livery) - G-EZYJ --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyjet (livery with phone number on side) - G-EZYF --> NEVER MADE BEFORE
- easyjet (stop BA stop titles) - G-EZYH --> NEVER MADE BEFORE

Whilst all the easyJet liveries would be popular, the Normal livery (both old and new) will definitely be the most popular by far.

I hope you consider some/all of these over the coming months, as you would make many collectors very happy

Going for the Tampa Cargo A330 this go-around. I have a soft spot for freighters and this one looks lovely.

To SLK35B.... I believe Panda said they were retiring their 737-800 mould, with that in mind NG did just release a very nice looking Ryanair 737 that you mentioned in your post about requested models.

I'd be interested in an A340-200 Air France, the regular scheme.

They are all in threads I have started in the custom models section. I have made 16 EasyJet models in 1/400 scale.
