Default NG Model - May 2019 "Hints"

With the April release being rolled over to the May 2019 schedule, NG Model have offered the following 1:400 "hints" for May 2019. The release will see the introduction of two new production moulds, the A330 makes it's first appearance with two models, and a second new mould the ARJ21-700 with four models.

The 752 releases continue with a eight models, along with a single 738 and C919. So to the "hints" -

Boeing 752

G-CPXX
G-CPXX
PH-AXX
N60XXX
N70XXX
N98XXX
XA-SXX
4X-EXX

Airbus A330

G-VXXX
9V-SXX

Boeing 738

B-6XXX

C919 - x1 registration to be confirmed

ARJ21-700 x4 registrations to be confirmed

I smell an Air Holland 757 with the PH-A** - nice

The XA-S** could be a XA-SPG of TAESA. They had 3 different 757 schemes. Probably more likely to be Aeromexico though I expect.

Another ARJ21 mould? There aren't many operators - Comac delivery x 2 and Chengdu Airlines has been done. That just leaves Genghis Khan Airlines - which is a boring livery but one I'd buy anyway.

The A330s rather give themselves away!

I think the G-CP could either be more BA world tails or it could be earlier TUI variants like Thomson or First Choice.

I'm hoping that the N regs can be some alliance liveries but I suspect that they will be older US airlines.

The A330 liveries like Richard said are very self-explanatory, but Id prefer a VS A333 rather than an A332 and Singapore could be a Star Alliance but will probably be a normal livery

Quite a lot actually.
G-CPEL-EP & G-CPER-EV

But some of them went on to First Choice AW, keeping the same registrations, and one is still current with TUI - G-CPEV.

Most likely yes, but Britannia/Thomson/First Choice received some of the BA destined G-CP** 757's too. Could be a BA Union Flag edition or one of the special liveries...

And as suggested hopefully the Air Holland 757, just a case of which livery though ?

A guess at some of the possibilities for the US registrations:

N60xxx:
N60xAA - American (non-winglet old colors w/RR motors)
N60xAA - American (winglet new colors)
N60xDL - Delta (non-winglet, any livery)
N60xAU - USair
N60xAU - USairways (early 2000's livery)

N70xxx:
N70xTW - TWA
N70xTW - American (non-winglet old colors w/PW motors)
N70xTW - Delta (winglet new colors)

N98xxx:
N98xFD- FedEx (PW motors)

I've got nothing else for the N98.... the 8 is pretty distinctive, and what likely gives it away. If it were an N90xxx, there would be all sorts of other possibilities. But N98xxx is almost assuredly FedEx.

I think 4X-Exx is El Al Airlines.

Except some interesting British Airways Tails, the next month I'm going to save my money for some expensive months.

Is there the possibility of those you guessed Delta be coming out as Northwest birds (hopefully)?

Unfortunately not. I, too, keep really hoping we see a Northwest 90’s livery 757-200. But, those are all N5xxUS or N5xxNW

I see. I'm hoping for a final livery non-winglet 757-200.

Well, my hope for N60xxx then is the post-widget so called "interim" livery Delta 757-200.

Was hoping to start winding down my collecting, but it looks like that idea is getting thrown out the window. Hoping the Mexico 757 is AeroMexico or AeroPeru. Definitely think FedEx is in there too. Hope the China 737 is something colorful, but most definitely will be getting it regardless. Looking forward to seeing what the ARJ-21 mould looks like.... and no L-1011 yet... patience, I suppose it will yield excellence !!

Wasn't the upgraded 787 9 supposed to be released this month along with the L1011?

Yes, what about the L-1011's? That's of much more interest to me than A330's or 737-800's.

After RStretton’s critiques of the samples, NG needed more development time to refine/improve the molds. Here’s to hoping they make it into the June releases.

I either missed this information or (perhaps given my crazy life right now) might have forgotten it. Last I knew, May was when the L10 moulds were to be ready. I didn't realize NG needed more time to perfect the L10 moulds. Yes, by all means get the moulds right.

Much more helpful than sarcastic statements about turds and diamonds.

Did you miss the NG Tristars thread Jim? Here it is again:

https://www.yesterdaysairlines.com/m...-tristar-1-200

They need to fix the engines/pylons and nosegear door size. Otherwise looking very nice.

I had not read the thread, but read it now. Wow, what great-looking moulds. With the fixes you discuss, the NG L10 moulds should be spectacular.

I gather this weekend, also understand that the 789 should make a return appearance in the June release, the obvious caveat subject to QC and production schedule.

Air Force 2 757 would be a great one to do. Also United 757 battleship and any Delta 757’s.

A nice set of releases, thank you.

The registrations of the ARJ21 models of Genghis Khan Airlines and Urumqi Air look like they are the pre-delivery registrations worn during test flights while still with the manufacturer.
I believe B-001R will become B-602S when it is delivered to Genghis Khan and B-001Z will become B-602D when it is delivered to Urumqi Air.
If it is not too late to change them, would it be better to release the models with their permanent registrations that they will wear in service rather than the test registrations that they only wore temporarily?

Yes I agree. I'd prefer the registrations they will wear in service. Another great set of releases though.

I think I’m going to have to get a second job just to pay for these. Will probably end up with 11 or 12 from this bunch. Also really happy to see AeroMexico bare metal, will go great with the Aeroclassics AeroMexico DC-9, I hope to continue to seeing more Spanish and South American liveries in the future, my Avianca should arrive soon, can’t wait to get my hands on it !!! Keep up the great work NG !!!

What's the difference between the two Air Hollands? As far as I can tell this aircraft wore the same scheme from 1988 to 2000 something except that sometimes it had a white nose or the whole body was white after return from lease. Please make the full scheme without the white nosecone.

The second Air Holland is essentially identical but with additional 'Dinar' titles

Here's the standard one:

Great to see the Air Holland. That will certainly be joining my Euro Charter fleet. Happy memories of one of these doing regular training circuits out of Teesside around 1989.

What an excellent set of releases there this time around. The BA 'Blue Peter', will be the first model in my collection with where I work written on the side, lol. And great to get a standard Chatham tail too. Also delighted to get another from my 757 wish list in the form of the Air Holland, and from my own point of reference, I used to see these at GLA in the 2000's when they operated for Air Scotland in it's short lived spell of operations. I'd also like to see one released in it's final scheme, to match the 767-300 released by Phoenix several years ago.

Jet2 A330 shall be my first NG A330 purchase too. This another aircraft making occasional GLA visits on summer charters.
