Im guessing the KLM 747-400 is another re-release like the new BA 747-400 that came recently?

Also Blue Box is making a 1:400 BEA A319. For anyone interested. C'mon Someone, get the BA100 jumbos out in 1:400!

Good to see another Fokker 100 and the Icelandair 757-300 should be nice as well.

Nothing special happening with the rest for me. Gemini out of big selling Tristars already?

The new terminal is disappointing. As toylike as the original with rotundas that don't look much like anything at any real airport. It is a shame that the Gemini terminals are so very plasticky and naff.

The westjet 787 9 is tempting but the mold's wing cradle is ugly.

Overall a better than average month for GJ. The Lufty A346 is a nice treat as is the Westjet Dreamliner. The Icelandair is a must too.

Nothing for me this month excepting possibly the Icleandic 100 753. Does GJ's 757-300 mould have updated landing gear? I love the Icelandic 100 color scheme, but in order to consider it, I need to know if the gear are updated and are properly detailed with struts.

I'm guessing a Lufthansa 748i in the new colors isn't too far off, GJ seems to be working their way through other types. I'm waiting for a model of that plane.

Both GJ and AC got the new WestJet paint scheme green-blue too blue, not green enough, on 737's. Hope GJ will correct that error on the 787.

Agreed, we need to see the British Airways Retro 747's. Sooner rather than later. Negus tops my own list.

Yes, same new improved gear as on the 757-200. I think they already released the stretched Delta with them ?

GJ's got an A220 mould? When did that happen? I thought Herpa was the only one with a 1:400 CS/A220 mould.
I agree with Shandaken, a better than average month for GJ. Mind you, they have been upping their game recently so we may be seeing a trend now.

It's the JC Wings mould. Haven't Gemini already made a Delta one before?

I think the most remarkable thing about the releases this month, is the absence of an Emirates release.

I'll withhold judgement on the new terminal until more photos of it come out.

Yes they have, but they put the wrong registration on it - N101DN instead of the correct N101DU. So at least this one has a proper reg.

First release was GJDAL1701, Delta CS100 N101DA a few months ago.

I'm pleased with the GJ model line up this month. Ordered the American A319, British A321n, Icelandair B753, WestJet B787 and Delta A220.

Ah, cool. I guess it shows how much attention I've been paying to GJ in the recent past!
What is the story with the Alliance Fokker? It looks a bit like a modern day take on the iconic BOAC golden speedbird livery. I'm assuming just coincidence.

It's the JC Wings A321 with new engines so not very good. It certainly is going to be massively inferior to the recent Panda release. Having said that the A321 is much better than the A320 and A319. I reviewed an A321 back in mid-2017 and nothing has really changed:

https://thediecastflier.com/air-canada-airbus-a321/

The engines on the NEOs are awful. I think they may have been improved since I reviewed this mess but they are still inferior:

I'm actually pretty excited about these releases.

The A346 is my favorite commercial aircraft, but Phoenix has the better mould, so I'll have to see how the Luffty looks.

I'll probably pick up the Alliance, one of the Etihads (Likely the flaps down as I think it's the first Gemini Model with flaps down(yes I know it's really a JC mould)) the Icelandic (which BTW is still on a cradle mould and to confirm, is the second recent 757-300 from Gemini, the first indeed being the Delta), the West Jet, and perhaps even the A220 if it appears they've improved on the mammoth gears that they put on the last release.

Great round of releases, but at the same time, not sure I will buy besides the Etihad. Seven out of thirteen of these models are being produced on either incorrect or outdated moulds. At one time, the 747, 757 and A340 mould were the pinnacle of the hobby, but they just don't display as well anymore, especially when you compare the accuracy of the 757 options. There is still a Gemini monopoly for the 747 as PHX botched the job and Aeroclassics/Big Bird seem to be on hiatus from producing more. But when oh when can we have a proper 747? JC wings essentially recreated their 1:200 787 into 1:400 and it is one of the nicest 1:400 moulds to date.

I can only assume the 787-8 and -9 will be produced on the original GJ mould with its cradle wings, while the Etihad will be on the JC 787-10 mould?

The Airbus A319/20/21 mould came onto the scene after the Aeroclassics mould and Panda copies, yet still is inferior with its nose shape and grossly oversized engines.

$550 for the new terminal. $120 for the mat. That’s insanity. Originally last night EzToys was saying $299, which would’ve made sense. Hard pass on this one...

$250 for the terminal and $150 for the mat - chump change. Doug

I agree with all of your points. I'm very interested to see if Gemini dare release the same aircraft (787) with different variants on different moulds. Amazing to think that that A346 was once a crown jewel in the 1/400 arena.

To confirm, Gemini have the terminal listed on their site at $669.95 MSRP. My main distributer Wafflecollectables.com has it marked down to 379.95. At either price I don't have the space to lay it out and enjoy it. I'd rather re-confirm my commitment to one day hand making display terminals.

That $379 price is just temporary and what many retaillers listed it at before they got the official pricing from GJ.

The MSRP is $699 and the retailer price is ~ $550.

Either way, for that price, with some careful hunting, I could have SEVERAL grails and with time, a much more detailed and practical display terminal.

Glad to see GJ trying lots of different things, but they won't get my $$$ that way!

The KLM 747-400M is tempting as that is the type flown most frequently into ORD.

I kinda feel I need one new LH schemed aircraft. Wish they had done the 748-I instead of the 744, but I'll consider this.

The Terminal price is shocking for me. Totally unreasonable for the average collector out there.

I've confirmed with Michael that Wafflecollectables price for the terminal is $590. This price is found on the GJ Pre-order page and different from what appears on this home page.

I will likely buy it and the mat, I already have the other 2 GJ airport/mat releases.

Cheers!

I can only assume the 787-8 and -9 will be produced on the original GJ mould with its cradle wings, while the Etihad will be on the JC 787-10 mould?

Looks like the United is the old mould?

United and Westjet both from the looks of things. I don't understand why they would use this mould anymore when the JC one that they ostensibly have access to is so much superior.

EDIT: Well I can't tell as well with the Westjet: http://www.geminijets.com/photo.php?id=GJWJA1847.jpg

EDIT2: And JC's *announced* a bunch of 787-8's, but have they actually produced any yet? Or just -9's?
