Default NG Model - March 2019 "Hints"

Back in December 2018 NG Model listed 35 models they were considering for their March and April 2019 release, 12 of the 35 make the "cut" for the March 2019 release (of a total of 16), the 738 makes a welcome return with 2 models and a further 12 752's with an eclectic mix of US, South American, Asian and European models. In addition a further 2 1:200 CRJ's complete the list making the 16.

The focus for NG Model these past months has been the new L1011 Tristar mould (several variants), the sample models should be produced next month, April 2019, with production of the first models, subject to QC, planned for April/May 2019; as a consequence the upgraded 789 has been delayed to next month. So to the "hints" -

N53xxx

Could be a different Northwest or United livery. N53xUS for Northwest, N53xUA for United.

The N91xxx, I’d have to guess:

FedEx: N91xFD
America West: N91xAW
US Airways: N91xUW

Depending on what it is, it could be an expensive month for me. I’m a fleet-builder of only one particular livery. We’ll soon see!

Ironic, in a way. NG was the first manufacturer to indulge all the requests for a new L1011 mould, and now it looks very likely they’ll be Tail-End-Charlie, as far as actually getting their releases to market.

If N53xxx is a NWA 752, it will be in the non-winglet configuration. I'm hoping for final livery.

Doesn't look like a Battleship UA 752 or a Star Alliance UA 752 are in the cards this time around.

I suggested a special livery by a very British airline on their 757 and they chose to pursue it so I hope we see it soon! (Landor )

G-BIKX are 2 world tails series
OY-GRL is Air Greenland red livery, but I'm hoping for a future release of old Greenlandair livery
TF-FXX is possible to be TF-FIH Icelandair Cargo or TF-FIO blue white livery

EI-CXX (must be an Avianca 757 with Reg#: EI-CEY or CEZ or maybe both. crossed fingers!!!)
I'm a bit sad though because I made the request for both the Avianca 757's Reg#"s: EI-CEY and EI-CEZ hoping the same way the have released 3 DHL's and other carriers, they could also do for Avianca. But any Avianca 757 from this great NG mould is quite welcome. I just hope the other requests I made will be eventually released. I even made the request for the Avianca Reg#: N635AV with winglets in the 1990's scheme, the Avianca Summa, etc.

EI-CXX must be an Avianca (EI-CEY or EI-CEZ). I emailed them directly with the requests and they said they would released them. I'm hoping both Reg #'s are included in the EI-CXX. It would be awesome to have this set of twins in this great NG Models mould

Just to be clear, NG typically has production runs of a few hundred of each release. And you're disappointed that they didn't produce your exact request, down to a precise three registration numbers?? Producing ~600, so you could buy 3??

C'mon man. You gotta realize they're selling to people other than just you. If they produce an Avianca, file that in the 'win' column and move on. Don't complain about petty nonsense like not producing the *exact* dang tail numbers YOU wanted, much less not getting three (3) of them.

Only a few (10 of 56, I think) Northwest 757's ever got the winglets. So, a non-winglet configuration would be welcome, as it'd be the more common variant.

A re-release of the saul bass wouldn't be terrible, either. Considering they're nearly impossible to find, and not for less than $100 USD.

Awhile back in one of the threads, I suggested they could do minimal change to existing artwork on the United saul bass for an entirely new release, but still unique; change the tail number and add the ETOPS titles on the nose, for one of the Hawaii-subfleet birds.

Off topic, but for you BA gurus..... why the heck did BA keep the -535C motors so long?? Most other carriers seemed to have theirs replaced with -535E's as soon as possible. Eastern, for instance, had their -535C's gone by the mid-80's. Whereas BA kept theirs through the 90's, and even into the 2000's.

Cost savings measure, or what was the rationale behind that??

BA bean counters saw no need for the upgraded engines until they decided to embrace ETOPS with their 757 fleet. In fact whilst Eastern were swapping their 535C types for E4's, BA were buying the older engines from Eastern as spares.

The 757 listed as EI registered, could very well be the single RB-211 powered example Aer Lingus operated, EI-CJX.

If you check out NG Models FlickR account you'll see what the TF- and G-MON* models are (I'm at work so can't share the link). They are indeed Icelandair cargo and Monarch cheatline scheme.

Really hope OY- is the Air Greenland red livery. It was one of my original requests from NG and will go nicely with my AC A330. The only outstanding request I would have is Royal Brunei however that isn’t too far off from what I’ve heard. Looks set to be another great set of releases, thanks NG!

757's: I think I posted a Royal Nepal Airlines 757 request, per my pursuit of national carriers, so either Nepal / Royal Nepal would be very welcome. I'll be glad to see an Air Greenland, but would be happier about Greenlandair which DiMA does not list as ever having been done on any aircraft in 1:400. I hope it is done soon.

Monarch is a historic vacation carrier. I'd get a 757 of their 80's livery per the image Rich posted.

Looking forward to seeing which N-reg's we're getting. If Transpac is right, I'd be interested in America West esp if it's the 80's-early 90's livery. For Northwest, a Bowling Shoe would be my choice, but probably would get a final scheme.

738: I'm not in the market for many, but a Ryanair would be welcome.

Re L-1011's, the great sage I remember having "saved the best for last" was Vanessa Williams. In any event, the L-1011's can't arrive soon enough!

Is there any difference between them except the registrations?
Maybe we can one by one?

Yes, it seems not very good produce 2 models a time just because of the registration difference.

C'mon man. You gotta realize they're selling to people other than just you. If they produce an Avianca, file that in the 'win' column and move on. Don't complain about petty nonsense like not producing the *exact* dang tail numbers YOU wanted, much less not getting three (3) of them.

There's actually no difference other than the Reg. #'s, but I thought the same way you have released 2 o 3 models of the same airline with slightly to no differences like DHL and esayJet.com which I am showing below, you could do the same for these two Avianca models. And of course, if you can release them even one by one, that would be awesome. You have made a huge difference in the hobby with your great 757 mould.

So, I guess I should assume the EI-CXX is an Avianca

Please, remember the other photos I sent you through private e-mail with the Avianca N635AV with winglets, the Avianca 757 Juan Valdez, the Avianca Alianza Summa, etc. I know you cannot focus on just one airline, but I look forward to see them release in the future. Again, thanks for such a great mould. And thanks for replying and listening to us the collectors.

But any Avianca 757 from this great NG mould is quite welcome. I just hope the other requests I made will be eventually released. I even made the request for the Avianca Reg#: N635AV with winglets in the 1990's scheme, the Avianca Summa, etc.

Nice set of releases, was hoping for the KLM retro, but KLM new livery is great. Will be buying the Ryanair

Few questions thou;

Will the DHL 757s be in any special liveries like the ones last month?

And will the British Airways be a World Tail (Scotland?)
AND what livery is the America West in?

BA Bennyhone Tartan for me. Hate to stray from my collecting criteria, but the Avianca looks very tempting

Damn you ngmodel, you vile temptress! I’m supposed to have pretty much stopped collecting thereby saving my modest pension from being frittered away on zinc. Then you go and release two of the holiest of holy grails of mine, Air 2000 and Monarch in the liveries I require. I might have to get two Air 2000s as a mate of mine used to fly them.

Also, do I get the Ryanair 738 as its bound to be better than the Phoenix one I have? I can probably resist the Bennyhone World Tail and the G- reg freighters, even though there was a DHL one doing circuits over my house only yesterday, but even so I’m going to have to survive on stovies and Tesco Basic Cola until the end of April!

Quite a diverse set of 757 releases! Unfortunately, these aren't the droids I'm looking for.

But, I will be taking the 1/200 Delta CRJ-200. Not the most exciting livery, but had good memories with the kids flying on one.
